Gomme on le sait, les enveloppes de lettres, pour être ou- vertes, sont d'abord tournées dos en avant, sur quoi l'on in- troduit et fait voyager le long du bord supérieur de leur patte de fermeture, la pointe d'un couteau ou d'un ouvre-lettres,etc.; ou bien encore, on prend des ciseaux pour couper tout au long l'un ou l'autre des bordures de l'enveloppe;
Or, la présente invention fait éviter la nécessité,de tour' ner l'enveloppe et elle facilite l'ouverture des lettres:
ré- sultat obtenu grâce à une fente pratiquée à un endroit appro- prié sur la face avant de l'enveloppe, et dans laquelle on n'a qu'à introduire un objet pointu-couteau, ouvre-lettres,etc) et le faire remonter le long du bord vertical de l'enveloppe pour ouvrir celle-ci.
De ce que, selon l'invention, l'enveloppe de lettre reste tournée face avant pour être ouverte, et ne-doit plus présenter le bord supérieur arrière de la patte de fermeture il résulte

que cette patte peut être collée complètement car il n'est plus né- cessaire de laisser un peu de jeu soit au coin de droite soit au coin de gauche de la patte pour permettre l'introduction de l'ob- jet servant à l'ouvrir, comme cela doit se faire actuellement pour toutes les enveloppes de lettres.
Le dessin annexé montre, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exé- cution de cette invention; la face avant de l'enveloppe y est dési- gnée par 1, tandis que 2 est le bord horizontal du bas, 3 le bord horizontal du haut et que 4 désigne le bord latéral, dirigé verti- calement. A un.endroit approprié de la face avant de l'enveloppe (depréférence tout près de l'angle inférieur de droite 6) est dé- coupée une fente 5 de forme rectangulaire, dans laquelle il suffit d'introduire la pointe de couteau ou bien l'ouvre-lettres. Si,ayant introduit cet objet dans cette fente, on le pousse vers le haut le long du bord latéral 4, l'enveloppe sera ouverte copme à l'ordinai- re. On peut aussi introduire son doigt plutôt qu'une .pointe ou un ouvre lettres, pour ouvrir l'enveloppe.
D'autre part, on peut, au lieu de pratiquer la fente 5 dans l'angle inférieur de droite, la découper dans l'angle inférieur de gauche 6, Le seul point es- sentiel, c'est que l'ouverture soit pratiquée dans la face avant de l'enveloppe, afin qu'il ne soit plus nécessaire de tourner cel- le-ci pour l'ouvrir.
Il est avantageux de disposer cette fente 5 en oblique(comme montré au dessin) afin de faciliter l'introduction de la pointe du couteau, ou de l'ouvre-lettre, ou de tout autre petit objet poin- tu, Cette invention est applicable à n'importe quel genre d'enve- @ lappes sans nécessiter le moindre changement de forme pour ces der- nières. La seule chose nécessaire est de pratiquer, à un endroit convenable de la face avant, préférablement dans le coin inférieur de droite, la dite ouverture, à laquelle on peut donner n'importe quelle forme appropriée : exemple, rectangulaire ou ovale,etc.'
