 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  Waste heat recovery boiler
Waste heat recovery boilers equipped with a special heating superheater are generally known. In these types of boilers, the superheater is installed either in front of or behind the heating surface of the recuperator boiler. When the superheater is placed in front of the heating surface, the temperature of the gases to be evacuated, before they enter the heating surface, is reduced to the point that, in order to produce the necessary quantity of steam, very large heating surfaces are required .When the superheater is placed behind the heating surface of the boiler, its. heating surface is very large in order to obtain the necessary superheating temperature,

  the difference between the temperature of the superheated steam and that of the heating gases / which have already partially given way, their ohalear to the heating surface of the boiler of the recuperator, being very minimal.

   The invention below overcomes these drawbacks by

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 placing the superheater combustion chamber so that it is independent and isolated from the recovery boiler. Both the heating surface of the saturated steam generator and that of the superheater are in this way exposed to the highest possible heating gas temperature, which makes it possible to reduce the dimensions of the heating surfaces to the strict minimum and to reduce, thus, considerably, the August of the recuperating apparatus.

   The superheater coils do not run any risk, the gas temperature at the inlet of the superheater can always be kept within the desired limits.

  In a recuperator device without additional hearth, the heating gases are distributed so that they are directed partly to the main saturated steam generator and partly to the superheater.

   The boiler of the recuperator is advantageously placed next to the superheater in front of which is interposed, if necessary, an auxiliary steam generator, the whole being united in the form of a boiler block. Thus, when the steam consumption increases. , the additional quantity of saturated steam can be produced in the auxiliary independent furnace generator. Saturated steam escaping from the two boilers is overheated in the superheater placed behind the auxiliary generator. In order to lower the temperature of the gases to be evacuated, the heating gases are directed to the auxiliary generator.

   This process can be usefully employed when the saturated steam is produced only by the heat recuperator, that is to say when the auxiliary generator is removed. It goes without saying that in the event that the heating gases are not sufficient, the saturated steam generator can also be heated by an additional heat source.

  This arrangement, thanks to the high temperature of the gases to be eva -duer

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 and their strong radiation, has the advantage of being able to produce in the auxiliary generator, the quantity of additional saturated steam with a minimum surface area of figure which would be much greater if one employed a re-cutting of heat with additional hearth without auxiliary generator . When the heating gases contain dust, this difference in the proportions of the heating surfaces would appear particularly as a result of the greater resistance of the walls of the recovery boiler covered with dust, to the transmission of heat, since point or relatively few heating gases are conducted to the auxiliary generator.

   Furthermore, a uniform and normal charge of the superheater is ensured when the heating surface producing the additional quantity of steam is interposed in front of the superheater; at the same time, it is possible to regulate the production of steam between rather distant limits and without compromising the good efficiency. In this way, the superheater can be interposed behind a heating surface of small dimensions being just large enough to protect the hot flue gas superheater coils of the additional fireplace.

   In the appendix, is shown by way of example an embodiment of the present invention.

   The fig.l shows a longitudinal section da saturated steam generator; the, Fig.2 is a longitudinal section of the auxiliary generator; Fig. 3 shows a plan view of the boiler group.

 auxiliary, 5 the heating surface of the generator of the additional saturated steam interposed in front of the superheater, 6 the superheater for all the saturated steam, 7 the common drum and 8 a partition wall.

   The heating gases enter the recovery device (fig, 1) through channel 1 and circulate in a known manner through the tube bundle 2 of the main saturated steam generator and the common economizer 3. The auxiliary generator (fig. 2) is equipped with 4 burners for additional heating. The gases to be evacuated are first cooled somewhat by the relatively small heating surface of the complementary steam generator 5 so that they can no longer damage the superheater coils, then pass through the superheater-6 which overheats at the required temperature, both the saturated steam of tube bundle 2 and that of tube bundle 5, and through the common economizer 3.

   The two parts of the recuperator (see fig.l and 2) are separated by a wall 8. They are united in a block (see fig.3) and in connection with the superheater 6, the economizer 3 and the common drum 7; This arrangement, while having the advantage of reducing the cost of the appliance and restricting the space required for its placement, facilitates service and avoids additional heat loss. inventive, it is essential that both parts of the generator receive
 EMI4.1
 a comman scircheater, while the arrangement of a common upper drum and economizer is a great advantage.
