1 A chaque manoeuvre, comme dispositif de freinage, après butée de fin de course de la crémaillère ;

The present invention relates to a type of electrical control device for the remote maneuvering of the needles' of railways, specially established so that the bottoming of the needles can be effected without lead to organ breakage.
In the description which follows, reference is made to the accompanying drawing showing an example of a practical embodiment of the invention.

ference designate the same elements or organs.
The motor system comprises an electric motor 1 carrying a pinion 2, which, by the intermediary of a toothed wheel 3, fc, has to turn a pinion 4 fixed on the axis of an irreversible worm 5.
The latter drives a toothed ring 7 which transmits, by a suitable adjustable friction clutch, the rotational movement to a pinion 6 (see FIG. 3).
The pinion 6 actuates a rack 8, the movements of which are limited by two end-of-travel stops 9 and 10 fixed on its non-toothed part.
The rack 8 is secured to a lateral bar 11 intended to act, with the interposition of cleats 16 and 17 respectively arranged at its two ends, on rollers 12 ', 13' carried by the end of levers 12 and 13 controlling the switches 15 and I4, for stopping the engine and preparing the electrical circuit for the next maneuver, in a known manner.
The tabs 16 and 17 are arranged in such a way that they do not erase when, as a result of the translation of the bar 11 in the appropriate direction which should cause the breaking of the contacts of the switches 15 and 14, they come, respectively and not simultaneously, press the rollers 12 13 '. It follows a rapid rotation of the levers 12 and 13 determining the sudden breaking of the contacts considered.
On the contrary, when the translation of the bar 11 takes place in the direction appropriate for reestablishing the contacts, the tabs 16 and 17 are erased under the pressure of the rollers 12 13 ', the levers 12 and 13 being respectively supported by 12 ", 13" springs. It follows that the rollers! 2 13 'move freely on

the inclined planes 11 11 "provided at the ends of the bar 11.
The rack 8 is connected to the rod my new the needles, not shown in the drawings.
On the other hand, any movement of the needles determines a certain stroke of the control rods 23 and 24, and, consequently, the action of the latter on contacts arranged at 18, so that the position occupied by the needle is always given to the control booth.
The friction of the adjustable clutch previously discussed occurs in the following cases.
1 At each maneuver, as a braking device, after the end stop of the rack;
2 .- In case of bottoming when a great force is exerted externally on the switch. It should be noted that the "friction" being disposed on the last pinion 6 (see fig. 3) controlling the rack 8, the other members are not in play and their breakage cannot occur.
The rack 8 and the pinion 6 must be of robust construction to withstand the stresses which may result from bottoming out.
Naturally the latter is detected in the cabin by the electrical circuit.
The electric control apparatus for the remote operation of railroad switches, the subject of the ivine, has, among other things, the following advantage: the control, the motor switches and the control. @ being arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical plane conteuant y fig. l ', (parallel to the tracks) it is possible to quickly transform a device with control on the left into a device with control on the left
