 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

1) minimum de frais d'entretien
2) minimum d'usure

  Apparatus for photographing on film and for projecting images previously photographed on film.

   The apparatus forming the object of the present invention is used for photographing on film, or for projecting previously photographed images on film.

   The device dint question is intended primarily for the projection or photography of separate images, ie. at. d, that the apparatus is primarily used for photography or the projection of stationary images, the object of which is not in a movement relation with the preceding or following image, but also for the making of films depicting canceled objects or drawings.

   To achieve this goal, the apparatus must meet the following requirements: 1 The film carrying the images, or intended to receive them, must advance each time the length of one frame.

  2 The projected image or the part of the film to be exposed during the photography must remain in front of the lens only for a sufficient period of time to fix @

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the text or image projected in the observer's memory, or to impress the film.

   3 The advance of the film must be done automatically by keeping the film sufficiently stretched and without letting it drag.

   The apparatus according to the present invention is constructed in such a way as to meet these requirements while being space-saving.

   In order to obtain intermittent film advance and discontinuous work of the whole apparatus, the latter is controlled by an intermittent motion motor.

   A low-power electro-motor is preferably used and in the wire bringing the current to it, a suitable and adjustable switch is inserted.

   While reserving the right to apply any other device capable of producing the same effect, the inventor has found that it is possible to use preferably a mercury rocker mounted on an oscillating lever with adjustable counterweight one end is connected either to an air piston or to any other braking device, mechanical or otherwise, producing a more or less rapid return.

     The motor axis is coupled to a pulley on the axis of which is wound, on itself, a belt controlling the film drive device.

   This pulley is connected to. a coil return spring or the like, returning the pulley and consequently the motor to its initial point.

   To facilitate the understanding of the object of the present invention, and the principle of its operation, it is shown by way of example and without limitation in the accompanying drawing.

   The motor 1) intermittent movement, comprising the pulley la) is connected by a transmission belt 5).

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 to the pulley 3), rotating on the horizontal axis 23)
The discontinuous operation of the motor is obtained by the device comprising the staves 6), 7), 8), 9), 10), 24)
25) and 2).

   Around the axis 21), the lever 2), with double arms, can pivot. This is provided at one of its ends with a counterweight 25) and at the other end is attached to a cylinder 7), which slides on a fixed piston 6). At a suitable location on the double-arm lever 2), there is a mercury rocker 8) 9, to which electrical contacts la) are terminated. During the period when the mercury 9 connects the two contacts lo), the current circuit supplying the motor 1) is closed, the motor activates the device and at the end of its speedy stroke the current by raising the lever.

   By the descent of the lever 2) towards the air piston 6) the mercury goes down in the same direction, and after a determined time, the circuit is reestablished.

   During the period when the circuit is closed, the motor rotates the pulley 3 using the belt 5) thus driving the belt 11) winding itself around the axis 23) of the pulley 3).

   As a result, the coil spring 13) or the like, mounted without its support 12), is tensioned. Consequently, the part 14), which is connected by one of its ends, to the spring support 12), and by the other, to a wheel 15), provided with an appropriate toothing 16) drives this toothed wheel 15) and thus advance the film 17).

   If the current is interrupted, the return spring 4) returns the pulley, and consequently the motor 1) to the initial position.

   It follows from the above that the motor only runs intermittently and that it is always returned to its initial position, hence:

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

1) minimum maintenance costs
2) minimum wear
3) maximum yield.

   The movement of the film 17) is effected through the intermediary of the toothed wheel 15), the teeth of which 16) engage with the lateral perforation of the film.

     18) shows a slide fitted with an exposure clasp 19).

   The latter can be used to print the film or project the images.

   Reference 20) represents the optical axis of the projection or filming device.

   The whole apparatus, as shown schematically in the attached drawings, combines a minimum of force expended with great simplicity of construction and absolute safety at work.

   It is understood that one does not depart from the framework of the present invention by changing its shape, or the arrangement of its different parts, or by replacing its peculiarities by devices having similar effects.

   In particular, the motor can be changed to any other control device moved mechanically, manually or differently.

   This change will be adopted preferably, when no electric current is available.
