  Faneuse.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  Tedder.

   The present invention relates to a tedder and its aim is to make the tedder also usable as a rake and as an appaxeil for turning the javelles.

   The present invention consists mainly in that between the undercarriage of the tedder and the drum or parts carrying the drum, there are provided connecting members by means of which the whole of the rake drum can be placed under. an angle with respect to the direction of travel and the discs of the drum as well as the teeth of rakes connected positively to semx-ci can be put in position with a certain inclination with respect to the perpendicular to the ground.

   The drawing represents an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   Fig. 2 is a top view.

   Fig. 3 schematically shows the side view of the suspension of the rake drum for operation as an apparatus for turning the javelles, on a larger scale.

   Fig. 4 is a corresponding top view.

   Figs. 5 and 6 explain, in a perspective representation, seen in the direction of the arrow u (fig. 2), the possibility of displacement of the rake teeth.

   Fig. 7 shows a detail on a larger scale.

   On a running frame '1 which rests on two driving wheels 2 and a running wheel 3, there is suspended a rake drum 4. This drum consists of two circular discs 5 which are linked together with articulation by support bars 6. to which are fixed rake teeth 7. In each of the discs 5 are fixed, with an offset of 90 relative to each other, four pins 36 on each of which is mounted so as to be able to turn a sleeve 37 (fig. 7). The sleeve 37 carries an ankle 38 perpendicular to its axis of rotation. By means of holes 39 provided at their free ends, the support rods 6 are placed on the dowels 38.

   Pins 40 prevent the support rods 6 from being withdrawn from the pegs 38. The discs 5 are held in a bracket 8 to the horizontal part of which are fixed two rods 9 widened at their free ends. Under helical springs 10 which can slide on the rods 9 engage levers 11 which are fixed on a shaft 12. The shaft 12 is supported so as to be able to rotate in bearings 13 arranged on the frame 1 A lever 14 also fixed on the shaft 12 is linked by articulation, by means of a connecting rod 15, with an operating lever 17 which can be easily reached from the driver's seat 16 and mounted on the running frame 1.

  On the axis 18 for the control wheels 2 is arranged

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 a reversing mechanism (gear change mechanism) 19 which is connected by means of a shaft 20 (fig. 5 and 6), a coupling movable in all directions (cross-joint coupling) 21 and d 'a shaft 22 to one of the discs 5. Between the two rods 9. there is articulated on the caliper 8 a spacer which is a sleeve 23 (fig.

  3 and 4) in which can engage a rod 24 articulated to the frame 1. In the sleeve 23 and in the rod 24, holes 25 have been ticked so that the two parts can be joined together rigidly by the introduction a pin 26.

   On the disc 5 located at the free end of the rake drum 4 is articulated a corresponding spacer, namely a bush 27 (figs 3 and 4) which can be connected rigidly by means of a pin 29 engaged in one of the holes 28, to a rod 30 articulated to the frame 1.

   Instead of the connection of the bracket 8 to the frame 1 by the rods 24, 30 and the bushes 23, 27, threaded rods 32 could also be provided which can be moved by means of hand wheels 31 (fig. 5 and 6 ).

   The rakes, that is to say the support rods 6 with the rake teeth 7, can of course have any shape: the middle part can for example be connected to the side parts interchangeably (fig.3).

   If the machine is used as a javelle turning device, the middle parts of the rakes are removed. In order to prevent the upward projection of the mown material, by the rakes, as a result of the rotation of the rake drum 4 in the direction of the arrow x (fig.2). in front of the drum 4 in the direction of travel y, approximately parallel to the drum, a rod 33 has been placed (guide beam) 33 which is fixed to the frame 1. In addition to the frame 1 a sheet has been fixed guide 34! which serves as a stop

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 to the material harvested during turning.

   By the movement of the machine, the discs 5 are actuated by the inter. medial of the overturning mechanism 19 and the two javelles 35 situated in front of the discs 5 are turned and redeposited on the side towards the left (between the machine and to the left of the mechanism 19), in two javelles 35 (FIG. 2). From the driver's seat 16 it is possible, by means of the lever 17, to raise and lower the stirrup 8 with the rake drum 4, as required by the unevenness of the ground. The rake teeth 7 are directed approximately perpendicular to the ground and the position of the rake drum 4 with respect to the direction of travel can be adjusted as required by means of the spacers 27,30.

   If the machine is to be used with a bleach rake, the interchangeable middle parts of the rakes are put in position and the drum 4 is placed as far as possible with the support rods 6 transversely to the direction of travel y so that any the material between the control wheels 2 can be raked. The placement of the drum 4 in the transverse position is obtained by allocating the distance between the bush 27 and the rod 30 (fig 4). Further, the guide plate 34 is removed and the guide beam 33 is re-adjusted in accordance with the changed position of the drum 4. The javelle rake is then circulated between two javelles 35 (FIG. 2).

   By the fact that the drum 4 is at an angle with respect to the direction of travel y and turns in the direction of the arrow x (fig. 2) the two javelles 35 located as in figure 2 in front of the drum 4 are raked together and are deposited in a javelle to the left of the mechanism 19. The space between the Mues 2 is therefore free of harvested material.

    From functioning as a javelle rake, one can pass to the padding by the fact that after having removed
