    Packaging for powdered condiments.

For the packaging of powdered condiments, such as pepper, cinnamon, etc., at present, in so far as it concerns the quantities taken into account for households, it is usually used sealed sachets of. all over.

As a rule, these sachets are also used in the household for the subsequent storage of the condiment. A corner or an edge is torn to allow the condiment to exit through the opening thus made. In this method of taking the powder, it is necessary to proceed with some caution, so that too much powder does not come out at the same time. The opening after use is closed by a fold in the part presenting the opening produced by tearing. But this closure is very insufficient and offers little guarantee against loss of condiment. As the consumption of condiments is relatively minimal in the household, it is necessary to count on a long duration of use of the sachet. But, over time, the bag becomes ugly and brittle, so more waste is to be expected.

The new packaging which is the object of the present invention is intended to remedy these drawbacks and consists essentially of a cardboard sleeve with a double cover, the inner cover being perforated.

The attached drawing shows the new packaging in perspective.

By 1 is designated a cardboard sleeve provided with a bottom and closed by a perforated cover 2 in the form of a sieve. On the sieve-shaped cover 2 is engaged a non-perforated cover 3. To take the condiment contained in the cardboard sleeve, it is sufficient to remove the cover 3, then from which the contents can be poured through the cover. 2 perforated sieve-shaped. Such packaging is very durable and allows perfect and economical removal of the contents. It is virtually impossible for content loss to occur. As the packaging is only closed by means of the cover 3, the packaging is quickly opened and closed. The packaging is also, in all circumstances, more hygienic than the sachets.

For sale, the cardboard cases containing the condiment are advantageously placed in large boxes. The new packaging is also, from the advertising point of view, of a more advantageous effect than the sachets used heretofore. The thick material of the cardboard cases also offers the advantage that the contents will not attract odors from other goods and will not clump together as a result of moisture.
