La présente invention a pour objet un perfectionnement applicable aux aiguilles à tricoter et consistant essentiellement à munir ces aiguilles d'un embout qui est rapporté ou forme sur l'extrémité des dites aiguilles opposée à leur pointe et comporte un logement intérieur disposé de manière à permettre à une ouvrière, interrompant un travail de tricot exécuté au moyen de deux de ces aiguilles, d'engager la pointe de chacune d'elles dans le logement de l'embout de l'autre en vue de maintenir les deux aiguilles parallèlement l'une à l'autre, en position correcte

jusqu'à la reprise du travail, de supprimer pendant les arrêts tout risque de piqûre ou de blessure par les pointes des aiguilles,
et d'éviter la détérioration par perforation ou déchirure du sac ou autre enveloppe dans lequel on place généralement l'ouvra- ge en cours d'exécution .
Afin de fixer les idées, l'invention va être décrite cidessous en regard du dessin annexé, dans lequel :
La fig. 1 montre vues de face et en coupe partielle deux aiguilles conformes à l'invention en position de repos ou d'arrêt du tricot ;
La fig. 2 montre les mêmes aiguilles en élévation, au moment de la reprise du travail ;
La fig. 3 représente une variante de construction ,les aiguilles occupant la même position que dans la fige 2.
En se reportant aux figs, 1 et 2 du dessin ci-joint, on voit que l'embout dont, suivant l'invention, est munie chacune des deux aiguilles à tricoter a a1 représentées, est montré rap- porté sur celles-ci l'extrémité opposée à leur pointe. Dans cette forme d'exécution, cet embout est constitué par une pièce en métal, en matière plastique ou autre, qui est conformée de façon à comporter deux douilles borgnes parallèles b b1 reliées l'une à l'autre par une âme b2.
Cet embout se fixe sur chaque aiguille au moyen de sa douille b dans laquelle la dite aiguille peut être introduite soit à force, soit par vissage et d'une manière générale bloquée par tous moyens appropriés .
Les aiguilles ainsi munies du dispositif de l'invention permettent à l'ouvrière, utilisant les dites aiguilles à la confection d'un tricot quelconque c et désirant interrompre momentanément le travail en cours, d'introduire la pointe de chacune

de ses aiguilles dans la douille b1 des embouts dont elles sont munies, comme représenté fig, 1,
Dans cette position, les aiguilles conservent leur place correcte sur le tricot et les embouts qui recouvrent les pointes de ces aiguilles s'opposent ainsi à tout risque de piqûre ou de blessure et protègent, contre toute déchirure, le sac ou autre enveloppe dans lequel le travail en cours d'exécution est suscepti- ble d'être placé .
Lors de la reprise du travail, il suffit d'exercer une légère traction sur les embouts des aiguilles pour découvrir les pointes de celles-ci$ comme représenté fig. 2 , et permettre ainsi la continuation du tricot dont les mailles sont restées en prise avec ces aiguilles .
Dans la variante représentée fig.3,1'embout est en même matière que l'aiguille et ne forme qu'une seule et même pièce avec celle-ci.
Dans cette forme d'exécution, chaque embout est percé
3 d'un oeil borgne b qui joue exactement le même rôle que la douille b1 de l'embout décrit en regard des figs. 1 et 2.
Les dispositions ci-dessus décrites ne sont bien entendu données qu'à titre d'exemple , les formes, matières et dimensions des aiguilles et de l'embout rapporté ou formé sur celles-ci pouvant être modifiées sans changer en rien l'invention .

The present invention relates to an improvement applicable to knitting needles and consisting essentially in providing these needles with a tip which is attached or forms on the end of said needles opposite to their point and comprises an interior housing arranged so as to allow to a worker, interrupting a knitting work performed by means of two of these needles, to engage the point of each of them in the housing of the end of the other in order to keep the two needles parallel to one another to the other, in the correct position

until the resumption of work, to eliminate during stoppages any risk of pricks or injuries by the tips of the needles,
and to avoid damage by puncturing or tearing the bag or other envelope in which the work is generally placed during execution.
In order to fix the ideas, the invention will be described below with reference to the appended drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 shows front views and in partial section two needles according to the invention in the knitting rest or stop position;
Fig. 2 shows the same needles in elevation, when resuming work;
Fig. 3 shows an alternative construction, the needles occupying the same position as in fig 2.
Referring to Figs, 1 and 2 of the attached drawing, it can be seen that the end piece with which, according to the invention, each of the two knitting needles a a1 shown is provided, is shown compared to them. end opposite to their point. In this embodiment, this end piece is formed by a piece of metal, plastic or other material, which is shaped so as to include two parallel blind bushings b b1 connected to one another by a core b2.
This end piece is fixed on each needle by means of its sleeve b into which said needle can be introduced either by force or by screwing and generally blocked by any appropriate means.
The needles thus provided with the device of the invention allow the worker, using said needles for making any knitting c and wishing to temporarily interrupt the work in progress, to introduce the point of each

of its needles in the socket b1 of the tips with which they are fitted, as shown in fig, 1,
In this position, the needles keep their correct place on the knitting and the tips which cover the tips of these needles thus oppose any risk of pricking or injury and protect, against any tear, the bag or other envelope in which the running job is likely to be placed.
When resuming work, it suffices to exert a slight traction on the tips of the needles to uncover the tips of these $ as shown in fig. 2, and thus allow the continuation of the knitting, the stitches of which have remained engaged with these needles.
In the variant shown in fig.3,1'embout is made of the same material as the needle and forms one and the same part with the latter.
In this embodiment, each end piece is drilled
3 with a blind eye b which plays exactly the same role as the socket b1 of the end piece described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
The arrangements described above are of course given only by way of example, the shapes, materials and dimensions of the needles and of the tip attached or formed thereon can be modified without in any way changing the invention.
