     Jusqu'ici, on a utilisé pour le baguage des pigeons

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  Ringing for pigeons.

   The present invention relates to a ringing device for pigeons, characterized by its mechanical control and the freedom given to two of the spacer branches of the ring, so as to avoid any injuries to ringed pigeons.

   The accompanying drawings show schematically, by way of non-limiting example, an embodiment of the invention.

   FIG. I represents a cross section of the apparatus, showing the operation and indicating the mode of connection of the fixed branch.

   Figure 2 is a plan view, the three branches being assumed removed, showing the respective arrangement of their axes.

   FIG. 3 is a cross section and shows, at its upper part, a partial section along the axis a b indicated in FIG. 2 so as to indicate the mode of attachment of one of the movable legs.

   Figure 4 is a perspective view of the control part.

     So far we have used for the ringing of pigeons

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 intended for competitions, ringers known as crowns with three movable branches which were intended to separate the elastic ring and place it on the pigeon's leg, the branches of these ringlets were recalled by the elasticity of these rings but at the same time, the tab was tightened by the rigid part of the branches and it was difficult to perform this banding operation correctly without risking injuring the pigeon.

   The present invention relates to a mechanical device, which can be fixed on a table so as to leave the operator's hands free, and allowing, by simple rotation .d'une cslé, to perform the opening of the branches and therefore the 'separation of the ring, the ring being retightened by rotating the key in the opposite direction. The movement of the ring on the branches, to free the pigeon's leg, is done with two completely free branches which prevents any injury and allows any movement of the pigeon's leg which has just been ringed.

   As seen in Figure I and Figure 3, the apparatus consists of a box, preferably metallic I, closed by a cover plate 8 and on which is placed a support 3, clampable by means of 'a screw 4 on a table or on any other furnishing object.

   This box is provided, at one of its ends, with a reinforced part 5 in which the mounting grooves of the branches are cut, such as that shown at 6.

   These mounting grooves are shown in Figure 2, at 7, for the fixed branch and at 8 and 9 for the free branches, they consist of grooves with parallel edges made in the reinforced part of the end of the box.

   These grooves are pierced with transverse holes which are used for the arrangement of hinge pins.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 branches 10, so that they can oscillate around this axis.

   The maneuver is carried out by moving a part II guided in a reinforced part of the box and this part carries, at its upper part, a groove 12 intended for the passage of a thinned part of the fixed branch 6, so that this branch can be connected by means of an oval hole and a pin 13 to the control part II.

   This part also carries, on each side, and corresponding to each of the grooves 8 and 9 of the movable branches, a thrust stud shown at 14 and on which the feet 15 of the movable branch are supported.

   As shown in Figure 3, this foot is pushed by the movement of the operating part II while it is completely released when oelle-oi comes back.

   The longitudinal displacement of the control part II can be achieved for example, as shown in the various figures, by arranging, at the lower part of this part, a frame 16 in which an eccentric 17 of axis 18 can rotate, this eccentric part being shown in perspective in FIG. 4.

   It consists of two guide pins 18 and 19 fixed one in the box and the other in the cover plate, of an eccentric 17 intended to ensure by its rotation the movement of the operating part II and of a part. 20 of the same axis as the guides 18 and 19, carrying two stops 21 and 22 intended to act on one or two pins 23 indicated in Figure I, so as to limit the rotational movement of this part.

   It can be terminated by a square part 24 on. which one can come, have a removable operating key 25.

   In this way, the rotation of the key effects the separation of the branches and the opening of the ring by the action of the shaft 13 on the fixed branch 6 and by the action of the pins 14 @

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 on the movable branches.

   When the operating part returns to the rear, the branch 6 is driven with it while the other branches are completely released, allowing any movement of the pigeon's leg and thereby avoiding any injury.

   It goes without saying that the shapes of the various parts, the details of execution and operation, the raw materials used for the production of various elements, can vary without departing from the scope of the invention.
