Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  Card holder for route maps on public transport lines.

   The present invention relates to a card holder for cards giving the right to a certain number of routes, as well as for season tickets, on trams, buses and public transport lines in general, in particular for cards which include, on at least two sides, places for a mark or perforation made by the receiver on each trip.

  These cards include, for example, twenty locations giving the right to twenty trips and are sold at a price which generally gives rise to a reduction for twenty trips on a determined route or on a network at a uniform price. Each trip suffices to present his card to the recipient who marks a perforation or other distinctive sign on it; after twenty perforations or other signs the card expires.

   These cards result in a great saving of time for the receivers because @ the traveler does not have to pay for his place on each trip, and

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the collector never has to give change, which allows transport companies to grant buyers of these cards a large reduction on the total normal price of the corresponding number of trips.

   Card holders or cases for subscription cards for railways, trams, etc., have long been known in which the card was framed, even covered with mica or other transparent sheet, to prevent the card from being damaged. gets dirty in the long run, or to lose it. These known card holders or cases cannot be suitable for the cards which have just been mentioned, because the recipient would not have access to the card to produce the perforation or other mark therein.

   The object of the present invention is to provide a card holder for a card of the aforementioned type, in which the card is held and well protected, and in which, however, the recipient can have easy access to the card in order to effect his punching therein.

   Essentially the card holder according to the invention is characterized in that the card is held there by one edge while leaving the other three edges free.

   In a preferred embodiment, the card is held between two cartons, or other relatively rigid sheets, connected by a relatively flexible back, and this card holder is characterized in that the card can slide along, and inside said. back so as to release a certain width of the card from, from edges perpendicular to the attachment edge, as well as a corresponding length of said attachment edge, which allows the receiver to punch in all points on at least three edges of the map.

   Two non-limiting embodiments of the card holder according to the invention are shown by way of example in the appended drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a view of a first form of card holder, closed,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   Flg.2 is a view of the same open, the card being in its normal position,
Fig.3 is a view of a second form of card holder or - green, the card being shown in a position other than the normal, Fig.4 is a detail section, either according to II-II of Fig.2 or III-III of fig. 3.

   In these drawings, 1 and 1 'denote two boxes, or other sheets of relatively rigid material, equivalent, each having the dimensions of the card 2, and connected by a back 3 of relatively flexible material, so that the card being enclosed between these two boxes is completely protected. The card is secured in the card holder as follows:
Internally on the back, and having approximately the same length as it, there is a slotted tube 4, for example made of thin metal.

   This tube 4 may include at its two ends a protrusion 5 in the form of a tongue curved on the outside on the back as can be seen in FIG. or else these extensions 5 can be hidden in the back fabric, glued over them, as shown in fig.3; inside the tube 4 slides the card attachment clip 2, which can be made up according to the shape of fig. 1 and fig. 2, of two small metal clips 6 and 6 ', whose ends are curved against each other.

   The ends come out of the slit tube 4, through its slot and between these ends is pinched the edge of the card, while the curved part of the clamps 6 and 6 'is wider than the slot, as can be seen in fig. 4 , so that the clamps 6,6 'can slide longitudinally in the tube 4, with the ends passing through the slot, without the clamps being able to come out entirely from the tube. The edges of the slit of the tube 4 are brought together in 4 'as can be seen in fig. 2 and 3 to prevent the clamps from coming out at the ends.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   The ends of the clamps 6,6 ′ are slightly spaced which makes it possible to slide the card between these ends which then hold it sufficiently; the edge of the card @ can enter the tube 4 through its slot, but this is optional. The card being thus held in the clamp, it can be slid longitudinally in its support, for example from the position shown in fig. 2 to that of figure 3, in which one of the small edges of the card is fully - made clear to print the perforations or marks. It is understood that the movement can take place in both directions and one or the other of the small edges of the card thus be released.

   The fastening clip shown in fig. 3 is slightly modified and consists of a simple small plate 7 curved on itself by two edges which pass through the slot in the tube 4.

  The curved part of the plate is wider than said slot and slides in the tube, while the close edges are slightly flared to receive the edge of the card. This detail is also visible in fig 4.

   Any elastic member can be provided by which the card is normally maintained in the position shown in fig.2. For example the clip 7 can be attached to two elastic cords, stretched and fixed to the head and the foot of the back 3. These elastic will allow the movement of the card in the position of fig.3 for the perforation of one of the small ones. edges, but will automatically return the card to the position of fig. 2. However, this device is not essential and has not been shown.
