<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Dans la description qui va suivre on indiquera uniquement quelques exemples de réalisation utilisant du courant continu , Sur les dessins annexés;

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
L'in errupteur
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>

l'étage voulu , peut être réalisé en modifiant l'inter- rupteur U qui est commandé par la porte palière de telle façon qu'il prend une position neutre lorsque cette porte palière est fermée ;

<Desc/Clms Page number 15>
<Desc/Clms Page number 16>
<Desc/Clms Page number 17>

AUTOMATIC DOORS FOR ELECTRIC ELEVATORS
The object of the present invention is to provide a simple and efficient device by means of which the door of an electric elevator opens automatically when the door of the elevator shaft is opened so that one can enter the latter without further ado, after which, after waxing the cage door, the elevator door closes automatically.
In the invention also, the elevator door, when reaching the desired landing, can be opened by pressing a button and then, after opening and closing the landing door, the cabin door. does not close automatically so that one can
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
use the elevator again.
The invention also aims at an improved device by means of which the opening of the cabin door, when reaching the desired level, is effected with the aid of a system of contacts actuated by push buttons which are part of the lift system and which operate the car door to the corresponding floor.
According to the invention, the car door is prevented from closing too prematurely when leaving the elevator or from remaining open when the landing door is opened only for a short time and when close it immediately after.
Other advantages and features of the invention will emerge from the description which will be given with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The device works equally well with alternating clearing and direct current and, with corresponding modifications, with three-phase current.
In the description which follows, only a few examples of embodiments using direct current will be indicated, in the accompanying drawings;
FIG. I represents a device according to the invention. FIG. 2 represents this device to which an automatic switch is coupled in order to prevent the. premature closing of the cabin door when leaving the lift.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Figure 3 is a device with a variation of the push button system for opening the cabin door.
Figure 4 shows the same device with an auxiliary circuit system serving to automatically open the car door when reaching the desired floor.
FIG. 5 is a vibrating device constructed according to the principle of the inertia of matter and which is fixed at the points X X X of the previous figure.
1 2 3
Figure 6 is a device with another switch system for landing doors.
FIG. 7 shows the same device with an extension of the switch for the cabin door.
FIG. 8 is a variant of the device in which the cabin door is closed by means of a spring, after release of a stop device
In the various figures ;, we see an electric motor M 'and a switch S actuated by the cabin door. When this door is closed, the switch is in the position, when it is open in the position. ±. The switch is arranged in such a way that it is inverted only when the door reaches its extreme positions and the switch then controls the direction of movement of the cabin door by the motor rotation without. , according to these positions:

or two circuits which, in opposite directions, pass current through the field windings or into the motor induction.
In Figures I to 5 and 8, a landing switch U is disposed at each of the bearings and is controlled by the landing door or by its lock. Two circuits are mounted on the switch which always closes one of the circuits while keeping the other open, and vice versa.
When the landing door is opened, the switch assumes position b controlled by a spring. When the door is closed, the switch returns to its original normal position a.
Inside the cabin wall, there is a button-possior P. It is arranged so that, when pressed, an auxiliary circuit is closed. In this circuit, a current flows which also passes through the electromagnet E. The latter attracts a lever H and, at the same time, causes the auxiliary circuit system to keep the opening circuit permanently closed, even if the we stop pressing the button.
When the current was interrupted in the circuit, a spring brought the lever back to its rest position. A time switch A cuts the closing circuit for a determined time when switch S reaches its position b. The time of the interruption must be set so that it is long enough for the user to have time, for example 3 seconds, to open the landing door. Time switch A can also be mounted in combination with push button p.
We see on line I the wiring diagram.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
When the landing doors and that of the cabin are closed or open, the circuits are without current since they have been cut by the switch S and the switch U in their position a and b respectively, but when one of the landing doors opened the. the cabin door being closed, the switch U, on the respective floor, goes from its position a to its position and the opening circuit passes into the motor. The latter then opens the cabin door which, on reaching its extreme open position, places the switch S in its position b in which the circuit is interrupted. The time switch A is then activated.
When a user has entered the elevator and closes the landing door, the second circuit, ie the closing circuit, is closed because the switch U is in its position a. The current then flows in the opposite direction through the armature or, as shown in the figures, through the field windings of the motor. As a result, the direction of rotation of the motor also changes and the cabin door closes. ; consequently, in its extreme closed position, the door brings switch S back to position a and the two motor circuits are consequently open on this switch and respectively on the switches: of the landing door which is closed .
It will now be assumed that the user who has reached the desired landing wants to leave the car. 11 press the button P located inside the car,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
which closes the circuit which opens the cabin door; the electromagnet E pulls the lever H, so that the door opens. When this door has reached its extreme open position, the time switch A is actuated and the closing circuit is, therefore - quence, open.
When the landing door is opened, the closing circuit is also open on the switch U because the latter is in its position. The cabin door does not close until the landing door is closed.
On the other hand, if the landing door has not been opened in time, the closing circuit is closed and the car door closes and can then be opened again by pressing the button.
It is possible to obtain the interruption of the closing circuit without the time switch, for example by means of a separate lever H1 (figure 2) which, by means of a push button P is actuated jointly with the lever H and at the same time as the latter. When this button P is pressed, with the landing and car doors closed, two circuits are separately established forming a bridge, one passing through switch U and magnet E1, the other through position a switch S, magnet E and motor. The magnets permanently attract each their lever, and therefore a pressure exerted for a moment is sufficient.
The cabin door opens and, having reached its extreme position, the switch S moves to its position b, and cuts the circuit of the magnet E; this electromagnet has no current and the lever H returns to its original position. The in erruptor
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
U being in its position a, the current keeps the electromagnet E1 in activity and maintains the lever H1 in a position according to which the motor closing circuit is kept interrupted.
The opening of a landing door cuts off the current flowing through magnet E1 in switch U * Lever H1 is released. However, the current from the closing motor does not yet flow, given the position of the switch U. When the landing door is closed, the current flows constituting a closing current.
In the event that a person who is not accustomed to the role of the push-button should press the button during the closing movement of the cabin door, the closing circuit is interrupted by the lever H . The door stops in an intermediate position and cannot move automatically, which is a disadvantage. But, when the landing door is opened

te and is closed again to the electro-magnet Eu, is put out of action and, consequently, the closing of the door of the cabin takes place again. If, however, the cabin door is brought into its extreme closing position by hand, the current continues to flow through the electromagnet E1 and the closing circuit remains uninterrupted.
Lever H does not come to its rest position until a landing door has been opened to any of the palaces. The disadvantage indicated above can be avoided as shown in Fig. 3.
Instead of the push-button P, a new lever H2 is provided, one end of which acts as the push-button P and the other end of which can be attracted by the magnet E2. The new button is N. The wires
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
The wiring requirements for the bridge circuit are shown in Figure 3. In the event that button N is pressed during the closing movement of the cabin door, this closing continues however.
However, it is possible to make the device in such a way that the door can be opened without pressing the button, when you have reached the desired floor. In figure 4, the button N, the electromagnet E and the lever H have been removed. The electromagnets E1 and E2 as well as the levers H1 and E 2 remain.
The buttons of the car raising system are indicated in P1, P2, P3, etc. To each of these buttons corresponds an electromagnet Em1, Em2, Em3, etc. When one of the buttons P1, P2, etc is pressed, a corresponding lever He1, He2, He3, etc. is brought into contact position and the other end of the lever is continuously attracted by the corresponding electromagnet. The separate switches Q1, Q2, Q3, etc., provided on the wall of the cabin correspond to each of the electromagnetic devices, forming a bridge, mounted in parallel. Each of these switches is placed in the contact position by a separate projection which is located only on the corresponding floor.
The opening of the cabin door is obtained as follows:
The person entering the cabin wishes, for example, to go to the third floor from the first.
She therefore presses button P3. In fact,
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
Two actions take place, firstly the ascent begins and, at the same time as the button P3 is pressed, the lever He3is placed in the contact position. The current comes from the plus wire, passes through the position a of the switch S, through the contact end of the lever He3, through the electromagnet Em3 and the electromagnet E2 to go to the minus wire. . The activation of the electromagnet Em- causes the continuous traction of the lever He3 and a permanent current results.
The activation of the electromagnet E2 causes the permanent attraction of the lever H, the other end of which pushes the end
2 forming contact of the lever H1 in its contact position -b, which causes the electromagnet E1 to come into action, from which it follows that the current coming from the plus wire and passing through the position a of the The switch U goes to the electromagnet E1 and, from there, to the wire less by the contact closed by the lever H1. As a result, the closing circuit remains permanently open on lever H1. When the car stops on the third floor, switch Q3 is pushed to its contact position.
The current flows from the plus wire through the switch S (position a) the contact end of the lever He3, the switch Q3, at the same time through the armature and the field windings of the motor in the direction of movement. opening to go to minus When the car door reaches its extreme open position, switch S comes to position The electromagnets Em3 and E2 are de-energized and the levers He3 and H2 are released. The electromagnet E1 is still energized and the lever H1 is permanently attracted * As a result, the closing current which would otherwise be @
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
closed by position b of switch S, is open on lever H1.
When you leave the cabin, the landing door is open. Switch U comes into position. The electromagnet E. Is de-energized and the lever H1 is released and comes to position a. The closing circuit is then cut because the switch U is in its ± position. When the landing door is closed again, switch U returns to its position and connects the motor current in the direction of the closing movement.
The same operations can be obtained in another way. The part of the device which is shown schematically at the bottom of figure 4 below the points X, X and X can be replaced by that which is
1 2 3 shown in figure 5 by connecting it to the previous one at the points indicated
As above, P1, P2, P3, etc. represent the floor buttons of the lifting system, placed in the cabin. In combination with these buttons, there are switches connected in parallel which allow the current to pass through the electromagnets E6 and, because of their excitation, give a permanent current coming from the permanent traction of the lever H6. At the end of the latter, a switch is provided. Z time which prevents the flow of motor current for a determined time.
On the wall of the cabin, the vibrator mentioned above is provided, based on the principle of the inertia of matter. This consists of a spring R ending in a weight.
On both sides are provided two slightly flowing levers.
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
-xibles H7 each of which has a contact. By making the vibrator oscillate, these contacts come into contact with the corresponding contacts of the electromagnets E7.
By pressing one of the buttons P1, P2, P3 etc ... for example P3, besides the fact that the rise to the third floor begins, a current is produced coming from the plus wire, passing through position a switch S, by the switch which is connected to the button P3, by the electromagnets E6 and the electromagnets E2 to go to the wire minus.
As in the description given with regard to figure 4, the lever H2 is attracted by the electromagnets E2, the lever H1 is pushed into the contact position a, the electromagnet E1 is, therefore , excited and the lever H1 is therefore permanently attracted. At the same time, the Z time switch, which is connected by lever H6, is activated. This prevents the passage of the opening current to the vibrator which is initially activated until it comes to rest when the car has taken a uniform movement.
When stopped, the vibrator starts. The spring R controls the movement of the lever H7 and pushes it on the contacts of the electromagnets 37 When this contact takes place (the actuation of the time switch having been completed for a long time ), the electromagnets E7 are excited and attract the lever H7 so as to pass the opening current. The rest is as before.
The time switch (or similar device) used to prevent the premature closing of the cabin door when leaving the cabin after arriving at

the desired floor can be achieved by modifying the switch U which is controlled by the landing door in such a way that it assumes a neutral position when this landing door is closed;
when the landing door is open, the switch occupies position 1 and when the door is closed again, the switch returns from its position to the neutral position but passing through its position that it occupies When you have reached the desired floor, the car door opens and remains open - thanks to the neutral position of switch U,

- open the landing door when the car goes to a floor the car door opens naturally If the landing door is closed again, the cabin door having reached its extreme open position closes so . If the landing door was only partially opened and then immediately closed, in which case the car door could not have reached its extreme position, the door - would remain in the position it was in when it was closed. of the landing door .. To end the travel, the door can be closed by hand. For this purpose, the connection between the motor and the cabin door has a slight sliding.
To prevent the car door from stopping in an intermediate position when the landing door is open, close it immediately before the car door has had time to reach its extreme open position. , the cab door can be closed by reversing the current in the field windings of the motor, using a suitable coupling system shown in figure 7. In the extreme closed position of the door , a switch K is open, but closes immediately when the door leaves this position * If the landing door is opened by a person outside, when the car goes to a floor,
the cabin door immediately begins to open. If the landing door is closed before the car door has reached its extreme open position, the switch S is in its µ position, which also keeps the rest of this switch S1 in the closed position. The current passes first ', through the position µ of the switch U,

then by the contact of the lever H5 of the electromagnet E5 forming a bridge to go to the electromagnet E3 and, from there., return to the motor by the switch K. However, the door does not continue to move. open and, consequently, the electromagnet E3 simultaneously attracts its lever H3.
The latter thereby closes the circuit via the switch SI and the electromagnet E 4 to return to the negative wire. The electromagnet E4 thus attracts its lever H4 which changes the opening circuit into a closing circuit, by modifying the direction of the current in the field windings of the motor. -e closes. When the cabin door has reached its extreme closed position. the circuit is cut on the switch K and the electromagnets E-, E3 and E4 release their lever; there is consequently no more current in the circuit.
When the elevator is used in the normal way, the coupling system works as shown in the previous figure. the construction methods of Figures I to 3 have the drawback that they can come into action on their own between two stages; this drawback can be remedied by placing a circuit breaker on each stage. The circuit breaker works in such a way that a lever which is lifted by a spring is pushed closer to the wall of the cage and, therefore, closes the circuit when the cab approaches the floor. On the corresponding place of the cabin wall there is a projection.
However, it is possible to simplify the construction in such a way that a switch placed on or in the cab can be used in place of the cutters.
<Desc / Clms Page number 15>
-cooks mentioned above. In this case, corresponding projections must naturally be provided on each floor.
Likewise, the floor switch U can be fixed in the cabin. Opening the landing door then actuates this switch mechanically.
In all these devices, it is possible to carry out an automatic opening of the cabin door in such a way that the connections are made, for example by means of a relay which is controlled by the current of the booth. lifting motor, without more, when reaching the desired floor, by cutting the current to the lifting motor.
In the above description, the role of the U and S switches, at the places where they are concerned, is: I) to reverse the direction of the current in the field windings, 2) to open or close the field winding circuit and 3) to open or close the motor induction circuit. When using a motor with main switch, the coupling must be changed squarely.
In order to prevent the cabin door from bouncing back when it reaches its extreme position. and so that the movement is gradually decreasing, it is advantageous to provide brakes.
The closing of the cabin door, obtained above by reversing the direction of the current in the field windings can also be obtained by a mechanical transmission device which appropriately modifies the movement of the field. door when it has reached its extreme positions. However, it is also possible
<Desc / Clms Page number 16>
completely release the motor from its function of closing the cab door.
Figure 8 shows a device of this type which releases the open cabin door by means of an electromagnet En and closes it by means of a spring Fs.
The electromagnet is connected to the switches on the side and car doors, as well as to a separate switch Sn which is actuated by a spring and which always returns to its position even though the switch for the car door, when the latter has reached its extreme open position, has temporarily reached position b. With the landing door closed, the switch is permanently attracted by the magnet Em in its position 1 and prevents it from passing through the magnet En * When opening the landing door, the current is interrupted and the switch Sn returns to its position a.
When the landing door is closed again, the current passes through the position of the switch Sn, the position b of the switch S, activates the magnet Em, pulls the lever to cross. - chet Hn and releases a counter-hook L which has been provided on an extension of one of the bars of the cabin door and which engages with the lever hook when the door has reached position d extreme openness.
The spring Fs comes into play and closes the cabin door.
As a safety measure, a mechanical push button is provided by which the counter hook can be released mechanically.
If alternating current were used instead of direct current, the switches would not be changed. Since the number of periods of the current
<Desc / Clms Page number 17>
AC voltage available is high, the levers do not have sufficient time to be released by the magnets during the short time that the electro-lovers are without current for a period. Wiring wires can naturally also be placed in such a way as the switches which are located at the various landings and, possibly also in the cabin,
are connected by an auxiliary circuit operating with low voltage current and e xcitat. in particular, the actual control circuits. The device according to the invention can of course be used both for lifts and for goods lifts and the aim and the advantages of the improvements according to the invention can be achieved with the aid of a large variety of devices without depart from the scope of the invention which is not limited to the details represented or described here.
