<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Device for ensuring the tension of the belts".
The present invention relates to a new means for permanently ensuring the required tension of the belts to ensure perfect adhesion and drive of the controlled members.
The invention applies in particular to belts for domestic machines and in particular washing machines, in which the active elements, generally pallets, are driven indirectly by a pulley connected by belt to an electric motor.
In general, in such arrangements, the engine is mounted on a floor fixed to the frame of the machine.
The floor can be fixed or suspended from one side, so that the weight of the motor cooperates to permanently tension the belt in a satisfactory manner.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
However, these different means offer the advantage of ensuring that tension is insufficient for the conditions of proper operation of the machine and it is preferable to; or to ensure the belt has perfect adhesion, whatever the distension which s 'is produced during the us,
The present invention relates to a dean, which allows @ t to overcome this drawback.
This means consists substantially of 1 ::. provide the motor suppe with an adjustment means, allowing it to be moved in such a way that the motor moves away from the driven pulley in a sufficient quantity to take up the play.
Under these conditions, when one realizes that the court roie is relaxed, it suffices to actuate this tensioning means in the appropriate direction, so as to bring the transmission instantaneously and rapidly back to the desirable conditions.
This tensioning means can easily be produced by a nut capable of being moved by screwing onto a threaded rod, the nut stressing the support of the motor on one of its edges, while the affixed edge is mounted on the pivot, by example, on the machine frame.
It is understood that the means according to the invention can in practice be in extremely diverse constructional forms, given that numerous mechanical parts can be proposed and used to adjust the position of the motor.
Likewise, the latter can occupy various positions. compared to the driven elements.
However, in order to make the project c the invention clearly understood, one embodiment is described below and shown in the accompanying figures, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic elevational view through a machine, the motor of which is placed below.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
@ the motor is placed higher.
According to these figures, it can therefore be seen that the electric motor 1 is mounted on a small floor 2, which is supported by the frame 3 of the machine. This floor is suspended in such a way that it can easily oscillate around its attachment to the frame 3. On the edge opposite to this attached, the support 2 is capable of being requested by a nut 4, which is mounted on a threaded rod. 5, held rigidly in its position, because it is, for example, made integral with one of the legs of the frame 3 by an arm 6,
A spring 7 can be interposed between the lower part of the floor 2 and the corresponding surface of the support arm 6, with the aim of making the tension means as elastic as possible.
Therefore, it will be easily understood that the belt 8 which connects the motor 1 to the driven pulley 9, exhibiting a slack during use, it will suffice for the housewife '

This passes through a threaded orifice of the rod 10, in such a way that to operate the tension of the belt 8, it suffices to act.
