Glow wire spark plug for heavy oil engines.
The invention relates to incandescent spark plugs for heavy oil engines, comprising two electrodes mounted concentrically one inside the other to which the ends of an incandescent wire are fixed. The object of the invention is to reduce as much as possible the diameter of the end which protrudes inside the cylinder of the engine, while using an incandescent wire large enough to withstand the forces which it undergoes during the operation of the engine. 'installation. According to the invention, the outer electrode is arranged in the form of a sleeve so that at the end of the spark plug, adjacent to the glowing wire, it exceeds the electrical

central trode and it is provided with an appendage to which one can attach one end of the glowing wire.
The appended drawing shows two exemplary embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross section of an incandescent candle.
Fig. 2 is a section of a second embodiment.
Fig. 3 is a cross section taken on line 3-3 of FIG. 2. a is the center electrode, is the outer sleeve-shaped electrode, and d is the body of a glow-wire spark plug. These elements are isolated from each other by layers of insulating material e. The outer electrode is protruding from the center electrode. At this protruding end is fixed a washer f, pierced with a hole eccentric with respect to the axis of the spark plug through which passes the end of the glowing wire 1, fixed to the central electrode.
The other end of the glowing wire is engaged in the washer and is fixed there rigidly.
In the second exemplary embodiment, the central electrode comprises a finger h which protrudes into the hole of the washer and to which one end of the glowing wire is fixed.
Instead of being formed by a washer, the appendage of the outer electrode could have any other shape.
