 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

  PATENT OF INVENTION Interference suppressor device composed of a combination of capacitor @ and other suppressor elements.

   We know that in the promotion of electric machines by means of a capacitor, the interference-suppressing effect becomes particularly favorable if several capacitors are used simultaneously with different apparent resistances, and mounted in a row, where- that is to say in parallel, so as to capture as wide a frequency band as possible from the parasitic oscillations. But this favorable effect

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 may be canceled out by the presence of excessively long connection lines between the interference source and the anti-interference capacitor.

   In fact, connection lines that are too long not only radiate again the parasitic oscillations by forming in a way antennas, but also the inductivity of these connection lines going to the interference suppressor pigment the apparent resistance of the latter towards high-frequency parasitic oscillations, this apparent resistance having to be as low as possible in a parasitic device.

   However, depending on the construction of the machine to be protected, it may be that the use of very long connection lines between the interference source and the interference suppression capacitor is unavoidable, especially when the connections going to the capacitor must be made. led to the leaves / on the collector, since it is not always possible to house the capacitor inside the casing of the apparatus.

   In the new suppressor device which is the subject of the present invention, which consists of a chain of capacitors of different apparent resistance, mounted in parallel, possibly completed by chokes, resistors and other suppressor elements, the advantages of the chain are capacitors / combined with a particularly favorable arrangement from the point of view of mounting and connection of the capacitors, matte arrangement leading to a maximum shortening of the connection lines going to the source of interference.

   This arrangement also allows extremely easy installation and does not require any manipulation on the device which is the source of interference itself, for example constructive modifications to the motor casing or

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 connection changes.

   In accordance with the invention, a combination of capacitors of determined composition is used and, with a view to obtaining a minimum inductivity of the connection lines between the source device of interference and the capacitor as well as to simplify the assembly, this combination is mounted in a special connection box which allows the interference suppression device to be placed in the same line going to the source of interference.

   Given that the anti-interference devices are most often used in the open air or in damp rooms, the invention provides for the production of a protective casing resistant to humidity, and having cable or cable entries. suitable tubes allowing the introduction of conductors of any kind, for example conductors in a salt tube or in a reinforced tube, or even special cables for wet rooms.

   The appended drawings represent, by way of non-limiting examples, two embodiments of the device which is the subject of the invention; in these drawings: FIG. 1 is a plan view, with the cap raised, of a suppressor with a single cable or tube entry; fig. 2 is a front view of the protective cap; fig. 3 shows the arrangement of the constituent parts of another anti-interference device, seen in plan, the protective cover shown in section comprising in its lower part threaded connection sleeves; fig. 4 represents the protective casing of the slide of FIG. 3 seen in profile and in section.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   As shown in fig. 1, a base 1 receives two connection bars 2, fitted on each side with suitable connection devices, for example screw terminals, by means of which the connection to the network line 3 is made on one side, and on the other side the House of line 4 going to the source of interference. The suppressor capacitors proper, designated by the references 5,6, etc. and having different apparent resistance K5, K6, etc. are connected by means of blades or conductive wires to the bars 2.

   The value of the capacitance of the different elements of the capacitor chain depends on the species and the importance of the interference produced, but it has been found that for most sources of interference a favorable value is obtained by a combination in which low induction double chain is used. One of the capacitors will preferably have a capacitance of 0.1 F to suppress interference due to small waves of up to about 600 meters, while the other capacitor will preferably be made with a capacitance of 1 F for suppress interference produced by longer waves exceeding 600 meters. By means of a series connection, these capacities can be subdivided into two times 0.2 or two times 2 F.

   If it is necessary to provide a midpoint on one or on both elements of the chain of capacitors to make a connection to the envelope of the source of interference or to the earth, the link between the two partial capacitors can be used to constitute this midpoint. The connection is made using contact pieces such as 9.

   The two t bars can be used simultaneously for the connection of a discharge resistor 7. There is an advantage

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 to interrupt the bars 3 to allow the fitting of fuses 8 for the devices to be protected, these fuses being provided on the network side to guarantee their operation, even in the event of lacquering of condensate. The whole installation is covered with a protective cap 10, which prevents any accidental contact and which has the appropriate tube or cable entries. When it is intended for humid rooms or where there is a risk of explosion, the device or the condenser must be made in such a way as to be waterproof or explosion-proof. The assembly of the capacitors directly contributes to the examination of the fig 1.

   Thanks to the direct connection of the capacitors and the continuous bars, any long loop or line is automatically avoided which could adversely affect the interference suppression effect of the device.

   In the variant according to fig. 3 and 4, the partial capacitors C1, C2, C3 of the combination of oondesnateurs are mounted in a casing 11 provided with the necessary connections designated by 12. These connection terminals are electrically connected to the supply terminals 13 of the casing. actual connection 14, by means of screws and conductive blades.

  The power supply terminals 13 are interchangeable to allow their adaptation to any normal section of the line in which the device is intended to be interposed.

     The protective or connection casing 14 is made of insulating material or of metal; the lower part has suitable threaded sleeves 15, to allow the introduction of the desired elements, for example insulating tubes, reinforced tubes or special targets for wet rooms.

  The cover 16 of the protective casing can be screwed onto the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 lower part ensuring tightness against humidity and protection against explosions. The double capacitor C1, C2 comprises two middle taps one with the other without protective capacitor Cs, these taps being connected to the corresponding connection terminals 17 and 18.

  A blade or screw can be used to shorten the protection capacity. In order to make the middle tap of the capacitor accessible without having to open the protective case, one of the two fixing eyelets 19 located on the lower part can be provided with a metal disc 20 embedded in the mass, connected at the center tap terminals 17 and 18 of the protective box by means of a wire 21, also embedded in the mass or by means of a metal part of suitable shape.

   It goes without saying that the box may include, instead of capacitors, or next to them, other non-interference elements such as high frequency inductors, ohmic resistors, etc.

   Thanks to their removable mounting in the protective housing, the interference suppression elements are interchangeable and replaceable, so that they can be dismantled or replaced to allow their adaptation to the machine or other source of interference.
