 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

    DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY filed in support of an application for a PATENT OF INVENTION "Apparatus for cleaning beer pipes"
The present invention relates to an original apparatus particularly intended for cleaning beer lines by means of water and generally sandy substances.

   Such types of apparatus have already been used and executed in the form of hand pumps capable of operating the delivery of cleaning materials. Other devices have also been recommended to be directly connected to a water distribution pipe, so as to operate the discharge due to the normal distribution pressure.

   The present invention is particularly characterized by the particularly effective combination of these two means, so as to achieve a universal device which can be applied in all places with the same efficiency.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   Numerous advantages result from the execution according to the invention, especially if it is taken into account that with the existing equipment it is necessary to use hot water, in which chemicals are generally diluted. harmful, which must be injected into the pipes. This method is moreover not recommended, because these products offer the serious danger of clouding the beers, in particular if the rinsing has not been carried out completely. With the apparatus according to the invention, these drawbacks disappear. In fact, the cleaning is carried out rapidly in the total absence totally / of any biting products. In addition, the device operates either by hand, thanks to its hydraulic pump, or by being 'connected to the distribution conduits.

   For these two distinct applications, fittings and conduits are duly provided. Moreover, this feature in no way prevents a particularly robust construction, so as to ensure the device a good stability, which is completed by a metal arch allowing to hold the device with the foot, which considerably supplements its stability. .

   In order to make the various characteristics of the invention clearly understood, one embodiment of such an apparatus is described in detail below and illustrated in the attached figures, in which the fip-ure 1 / is a front view, Figure 2 is a prof il view.

   According to these figures, it should be noted that the apparatus comprises, in main order, a pump body 1, in which a piston operated by a handle 2 to which this piston is duly connected is capable of moving. Under this pump body are arranged two glass cylinders 3, 4, inside which is arranged a filter, respectively 5 and 6, in the upper part of which the pipes 7 and 8 emerge for the evacuation of water entraining products

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 of cleaning.

   The conduits 7 and 8 are controlled by a common tap 9, capable of directing the water flows in a suitable manner. In the body of this valve opens, towards the rear, a connector 10, making it possible to connect the device, for example, to a water distribution pipe.

   Finally, on each of the glass cylinders 3 and 4 is connected a connector 11 and 12 respectively, making it possible to fix the device on the pipe to be cleaned. In the foot of the pump body 1, that is to say below the cylinders 3 and 4, is arranged a duct 13 profiled in the form of a siphon and the free end of which can optionally be immersed in a water container. , especially when the device must be operated manually. Finally, the pump body is fixed below in a hoop 14, produced, for example, by a flat metal element, duly profiled for this purpose. This part allows the passage of the operator's foot, so as to give the latter greater ease in handling the handle 2 of the pump, while ensuring the latter good stability.

   Under these conditions, the operation of the apparatus is easily understood as follows.

   Before cleaning the beer lines, the beer lines and the acid lines of the flow system must be closed. Then, it is necessary to connect together, for example by a rubber hose, two of the valves @ of the flow column, and to open the two valves thus connected. On the other hand, it is necessary to pour into the rubber pipe, which connects the fitting 12, for example, to the piping, the indicated quantity of sandy cleaning products.

   The fitting 12 thus being connected to the pipe corresponding to one of the aforesaid taps. of the flow column, it is still necessary to join the connection 11 to the duct corresponding to the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 second of the two taps coupled to said flow column.

  Finally, the device, depending on whether it works automatically or by means of a manual pump, will be connected either to the water distribution pipe by its connection 10, or immersed by the pipe 13 in a water container of suitable capacity. . If the operation is manual, it suffices to operate the pump in the ordinary manner so that the water coming from the aforesaid reservoir is expelled into the glass cylinder 4 thus retaining the sandy product which will flow through the two pipes. beer, to finally retain in the cylinder 3 where the sand is stopped in the corresponding filter 5, while the dirty water will flow through the tap 9 to the discharge location. By moving the lever 15 of this valve 9, the same operations $ are repeated, but in the opposite direction, the water and the sand returning this time to cylinder 4.

   It will be understood that it suffices to repeat this cycle of displacements of water and sand in the two beer pipes a few times in order to obtain total cleaning. The same operations are obviously obtained if the device is directly connected to the water distribution pipe, with the difference that in this case the pump piston will be kept stationary. Obviously, with these particularly simple prescriptions, it is possible to produce devices of very different conformation, in particular if the dimensions of the various constituent parts are modified, or even if their relative position is changed. , the profile of the operating element of the pump, eto.
