Lance d'arrosage.
La présente invention a pour objet une lance d'arrosage comprenant les organes sus-rappelés mais possédant les principaux avantages techniques suivants : (a) montage amovible du diffuseur et du pointeau; (b) centrage automatique du pointeau par la pression même de l'eau grâce à la forme, à la légèreté et à la mobilité du pointeau;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
(c) étanchéité parfaite assurée par la pression de l'eau sur un joint élastique, sans presse-étoupe; (d) possibilité de raccordement étanche avec des tuyaux d'arrivée d'eau de divers calibres; (e) facilité d'immobilisation sans fuite et sans glissement de ces tuyaux sans denture sur le corps de la lance;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
En-vissant
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

Watering lance.
There are already sprinkling lances comprising a hollow body for connecting the liquid inlet pipe, a diffuser mounted on the mouth of this body, and a needle projecting more or less in the center of this diffuser.
The present invention relates to a spray lance comprising the aforementioned members but having the following main technical advantages: (a) removable mounting of the diffuser and the needle; (b) automatic centering of the needle by the pressure of the water itself thanks to the shape, lightness and mobility of the needle;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
(c) perfect tightness ensured by the water pressure on an elastic seal, without a cable gland; (d) possibility of watertight connection with water inlet pipes of various sizes; (e) ease of immobilization without leakage and without slipping of these toothless pipes on the body of the lance;
(f) increase in the number of forms of the water jet compared to known nozzles, as well as the volume of water projected from the full pipe, without obstruction, thanks to the possibility of instantaneous disassembly of the diffuser and the needle.
The main features of this advanced lance are as follows:.
1. The needle is supported in the center of a perforated disc removably mounted (eg screwed) in the recess of the lance body.
2. The perforated disc supports the needle not rigidly but with a certain possibility of movement in all directions with respect to its axis, which allows the needle to be kept automatically centered by the simple pressure of the gushing water, acting uniformly on its axis. perimeter.
3. The water having passed through the perforated disc acts on a fillet or an internal rounding of a collar preceding the tapered end of the needle, this collar forming at the same time and at will a member to restrict or stop the passage of the annular water vein.
4. The cup-shaped diffuser forms the outer end of a nozzle which screws into the body of the lance and hollowed out below an internal rim with a groove (of variable shape) housing a compressible ring (made of rubber for example) which ensures tightness without a gland due to the fact that it is pushed in front of it by water and thus comes to be applied intimately against a shoulder
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
and against the inner wall of the body of the lance.
5. The external profile of the body of the lance comprises several steps or smooth cylindrical bearings provided with rings at their rear ends and on any one of which it is possible to fit and tie or clamp the mouth of the water inlet pipe, according to its free ca.
The attached schematic drawing shows an embodiment of this improved sprinkler lance.
Figure 1 is an elevational view of the assembly of this lance.
FIG. 2 is an end view, from the side of the needle, that is to say of the water outlet.
FIG. 3 is a view in elevation of the removable, adjustable knurled tip through which the needle passes.
FIGS. 4 and 5 are two fragmentary views showing two variants of the posterior seal-holder groove of this end piece.
FIG. 6 is an axial sectional view of this lance.
FIG. 7 is an elevational view of the needle with a special profile and of the disc in the center of which it is held loosely, this needle here not comprising a counterweight.
FIG. 8 is a perspective view of the needle and of the perforated disc which supports it at its center.
As shown, this lance comprises a hollow body constituted by a collar 1 and a tail having an external profile with steps 2, 3, 4. There are three of these here, their number may vary. These steps are cylindrical and limited at their ends by rods 2a, 3a, 4a with rounded edges. Depending on the caliber of the water inlet hose to be connected to the lance, the mouth of this hose (not shown) is fitted on step 2, 3 or 4 and it is held there by a ligature or a clamp. suitable type clamping. The ring 2a, 3a or 4a @
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
prevents the hose thus ligated or clamped from escaping without having to provide flutes with a floss tooth profile on the body of the lance, as in previously constructed lances.
The recess of the body 1 of the lance has two spaced threads 5, 6.
A disc 7 with threaded periphery 8 drilled with an annular row of holes 9 and a central hole 10. The holes 9 are shown here in round shape but could have any other suitable shape. In the hole 10 is engaged the low-cut internal end of a small rod 11 tapered at its front end 12 to force the needle.
The rod 11 is not immobilized in the central hole 10; on the contrary, it has a certain mobility there; its rear end can be simply mat or flared behind the disc 7 so as not to be able to come out of the hole 10 (see FIG. 7). The rear end of the rod 11 can also be constituted by a tail 11a fitted freely into the hole 10 and supporting, beyond the disc 7, a counterweight 25 which does not interfere with the mobility of this rod but balances it centrally. This counterweight 25 can, for example, be threaded to mount loosely on a corresponding thread of the shank 11a.
The shape and size of the counterweight 25 are variable, this shape may in particular recall the profile of a small shell as shown in FIG. 6.
In addition, the rod 11 has a very small diameter in order to have little weight, thus increasing its mobility and facilitating its automatic centering by the pressure of the water.
Below its point 12, the rod 11 has a flange 13 with a rounded rear slope and a groove 14 formed by the connection of the front slope of the collar 13 and the birth of the point 12. The rounding of the rear slope
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
of the collar 13 is intended to uniformly deflect the water which, thanks to the pressure which drives it, bypasses this collar to emerge in a more or less open jet.
In the thread 6 of the body 1 of the lance can be screwed the thread 16 of a nozzle or "diffuser" 15 whose front part is constituted by a collar 17 provided, preferably, with a rear chamfer 17a so that water does not ricochet backwards if the seal leaks. The collar 17 has the advantage of being knurled or otherwise roughened to facilitate its gripping. The end piece 15 is provided at its rear end with a flange 18 below which there is a groove 19 serving as a housing for the seal which consists of a sealing ring or washer 20, made of rubber, leather or material. equivalent capable of forming a tight seal. This ring or this washer 20 is housed in the groove 19.
The shape of this groove and of this washer 20 is designed so that it is the water itself which, by seeking to pass between the internal wall of the body 1 and the external wall of the nozzle 15, ensures the sealing in pushing the washer 20 in front of it.
According to Figure 4, the washer 20 is forced by the pressure of the water against the shoulder 21 which delimits the groove 19 of the side opposite the rim 18. It follows that thanks to this simple washer 20 and without the need to provide cable gland, as in the previous lances, tightness is ensured.
The groove 19 serving as a housing for the sealing washer 20 may also have the profile of an inclined ramp in the opposite direction as shown in Figures 5 and 6.
The tightness is here again ensured by the pressure of the water which causes the free edge of the washer 20 to turn back in front of it and increases its diameter, that is to say forces it to come to rest hermetically against the wall. internal body of the lance.
The collar 17 of the end piece 15 is chamfered and hollowed out
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
(see Fig. 6) to constitute a cup 23 forming the diffuser itself, the center of which is pierced with a hole 24 to allow passage for the needle 12. The size of the hole 24 is such that the collar 13 cannot pass through it.
In other words, the end piece 15 threaded at 16 can only be screwed into the thread 6 of the body 1 until the bulge 13 located on the side of the needle 12 comes to rest against the rear periphery of the hole. 24. This also corresponds to the closed position.
The operation is as follows: - As indicated above, water or other liquid is brought by a pipe (not shown) fitted according to its caliber on step 2, 3 or 4 and immobilized around it by a ligature or a hose clamp. The water rushes into the recess of the body 1 of the lance and passes through the holes 9 of the disc 7 then flows into the recess of the nozzle 15 of the lance and spouts out through the annular gap between the periphery of hole 24 and the periphery of the mushroom of the needle 12.
As the rod 11 of the latter is supported in the center of the disc 7 not rigidly but with the possibility of oscillation in all directions, in other words of self-orientation, the pressure of the water deflected uniformly by the rear slope of the collar 13 maintains at the aforesaid water passage interstice a uniform width which automatically centers the needle 12 in the hole 24 without the aid of a special device. The balancing counterweight 25 can also cooperate with this automatic centering (see Fig. 6). It suffices to turn the collar 17 of the end piece 15 by the required amount in order to screw or unscrew its thread 16 in the thread in order to vary the width of the annular water dispersion gap with precision.
The dispersion effect is increased by the cup 23 which forms the diffuser. It is thus possible to project the water in the form of a straight or more or less open annular jet until the atomization almost corresponding to a mist. Screwing
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
fully the nozzle 15 in the body 1 of the lance, we bring the collar 13 of the needle against the rear periphery of the hole 24, so that the passage of water is cut.
But, thanks to the removability of the nozzle 15 and of the needle holder disc 7, three other modes of water projection can be obtained here, namely: a mode with crown jets by unscrewing the diffuser 15-17 ; a regime with a single large jet at full flow, by unscrewing and removing not only the diffuser 15-17 but also the perforated disc 7 and therefore the needle 12; finally a mode with a small single jet by removing the disc 7 and the needle 12 while leaving the diffuser 15-17 in place.
Unscrewing or screwing back the perforated disc 7 is easy. It suffices, for example, while holding the body 1 of the lance in the hand, to introduce a nail or a pin into one of the holes 9 and to rotate it in the appropriate direction.
The lance which has just been described can be made of brass or other metal or light alloy. Or even of resistant molded material.
