Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 bicycle gall.

   Bicycle saddles are already known which comprise guide rods fixed to a transverse part of the seat and sliding in sheaths; the shock absorber springs which work with the guide rods are arranged co-axially with them. This results in this drawback, for a device having a normal height, that the guide sheaths or the helical springs, sometimes even both, are found to be too short to produce the desired effect, If, on the other hand, we give to cesorganesune sufficient length, the device reaches a height which makes it inapplicable to ordinary bicycles. The disassembly of the helical springs of these already known saddles, necessary in the event of rupture or collapse of the springs, is long and painful.

   According to the invention, these drawbacks are avoided by arranging the guide rods next to the helical springs. In addition, a fixing of the helical springs is provided which allows

 disassembly, easy; the whole is achieved in particular by guide rods fixed to. the rear part of the saddle - and connected at their lower ends, by a transverse part making a spring. cestiges guide slide in guiding sheaths which carry fastening hooks or the like. Tension springs are hooked on one side to these hooks, on the other to corresponding curvatures of the cross piece, so that, with the saddle loaded, the rods take a downward movement and the springs work at the bottom. traction.

   The guide sheaths are fixed to the longitudinal support springs of the saddle; thus the support springs are also made to work at the same time as the helical springs.

   This construction according to the invention avoids the irregular and one-sided loading as well as the wear of the springs and the saddle will not tend to. take a reclined position. Further advantages are the absolutely safe trim and the very pronounced damping of all bumps.

   The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig.l shows a side view, partially in section, of the saddle; Fig.2 shows a rear view of the saddle, the hindering parts being removed.

   On the rear part of the saddle 1 the guide rods 2 and 3 are fixed to a common rail by the bolts 4 and 5. These rods slide in the guide sleeves 6 and 7 which are fixed on the longitudinal support springs 12 by bolts 13 and 13 '. The guide rods 2 and 3 each have a thread 8 and 9 at the bottom. Using these and the nuts 10 and 10 ', the guide rods are connected to the transverse part making the spring 11. Between the nuts 10 , respectively 10 ', and 13, respectively 13', one or more damping washers 14 and-14 'will be fitted; they can be

 leather or other material. The guide sheaths 6 and 7 have hook-shaped appendages 15 and 16 or equivalent pieces at the top.

   These appendages are used to hook the traction coil springs 17 and 18 which are hooked, by their other end, to the curvatures 19 and 20 (or similar members) of the transverse and elastic part 11.

   When loading the saddle, the rods and integral members (see the arrow in fig.l) take a downward movement, which causes the springs 17 and 18 to work in traction.

  Thanks to the guide ducts 6 and 7, the longitudinal support springs 12 are also forced to work.

   It has been found preferable to arrange the guide rods on the outside of the coil springs, but it is evident that this arrangement, as well as other construction details, can be modified without departing from the framework of the present invention. invention.
