Device for blowing air or water under pressure in a conveyor pipe parallel to the pipe wall.
The invention relates to a device for producing a blast of air or water under pressure in a conveyor pipe substantially parallel to the inner wall of the pipe and to the direction of the flow of material to be conveyed.
According to the invention, in particular, the wall of the compressed air or pressurized liquid inlet nozzle essentially constitutes a rectilinear extension of the wall of the pipe situated downstream of the inlet opening, so that the air or liquid exiting the nozzle enters the pipe substantially parallel to the next wall of the pipe. Wall @ --

of the nozzle, adjacent to the material to be transported, may form part of the wall of the pipe itself, without there being any protrusions oriented inside the pipe.
For tubular bends, for the material to be transported, preferably tubular elements of substantially trapezoidal longitudinal section and of circular cross section, for example, are used, the air inlet openings being arranged, looking in the direction of the movement of the material to be transported, a little upstream of an elbow element or of the last rectilinear tubular element. The wall of the nozzle, opposite to the flow of material to be transported, may advantageously consist of an insert in order to facilitate the exact shaping of the nozzle. This insert can be tapered in the form of a wedge at the end opposite the outlet opening of the nozzle and preferably bears without gap against the next tubular element.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to preserve the tubular conduits, in particular at the elbows, as well as at the lower part of conduits transporting relatively heavy materials. However, this device can also be used judiciously for other uses where it is advantageous to introduce a driving current parallel to the wall, for example also when it is desired to introduce a driving fluid through the entire periphery of a pipe.
The accompanying drawing shows the invention by way of example.
Fig. 1 shows the device according to the invention, applied to a tubular bend.

Fig. 3 shows an exemplary embodiment suitable for straight tubular conduits.
In the drawing, a is the last tube of a straight tubular duct and 12 is the first section of a tubular bend. they are subsequent, substantially identical, sections of the tubular elbow. The tubes b and c of the tubular bend have compartments d for the intake of air or liquid, which terminate in slot-shaped nozzles. The wall f of the nozzles, opposite to the interior of the tubes or to the flow of material to be transported, constitutes a substantially rectilinear extension of the following interior wall g of the tubes, so that the flow of air or of liquid coming out of the nozzle enters parallel to the tube wall.
In addition, until the opening of the next nozzle, this wall of the tube is entirely free of any projection oriented towards the interior of the tube. As a result, the material to be transported, entrained in the usual way, does not encounter any hindrance in its path due to the additional air intake, and it receives most advantageously an acceleration over the major part of the bend. , without any resistance of any kind occurring in the material to be transported.
In Fig. 2, the surface f is provided on a separate insert h whose end i opposite the outlet opening of the nozzle is chamfered. At the other end, this insert h ends without a difference in level at the next tube. This insert can be attached to the tube in a suitable manner, for example by welding.
In Fig. 3 is shown a tube k comprising a nozzle, the wall opposite to the flow of material to
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
transporter constitutes an extension of the wall m of the following tube n. The diameter x of the end of the tube k- and that of the end of the tube n are the same. In these places the sections are circular. At the beginning, the section of the tube n is shaped so as to correspond to the outer face of the inlet nozzle of the preceding tube. When the tubes are rectilinear, it is for example possible to connect a tube with a nozzle to a tube without a nozzle, for example to a tube even long enough, so that every tube is not provided with a nozzle.
