Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

  Transporter with coaches, especially for mining operations.

   The present invention relates to a conveyor with coaches, intended in particular for work in mining operations, and in the conveyor duct of which are arranged s guide organ serving to raise the materials to be discharged until they can be discharged. themselves by outlet openings made in the side wall of the transport duct, or else rise to above the upper edge of said lateral wall of the duct and then pour out.

   In one embodiment of this conveyor with coaches, in which the coaches are formed by two endless traction members, arranged parallel to one another, and move in a transport duct arranged above the return duct , the said organ not only lifts the material to be poured, but also the two traction organs and the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 coaches attached to it. The experiments carried out have shown that, in this construction, the lateral discharge of the materials is made rather difficult by one of s two traction members, that is to say by the one which is on the side where the discharge is to take place. .

   The materials to be discharged laterally from the duct must pass either above or below the chain ensuring the drive, which does not only constitute a loss of flow speed, but also a reduction in the quantity delivered.

   The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback and further to conform the trainer conveyor in such a way as to increase its efficiency and utility.

   According to the principle of the invention, this object is achieved by means of a guide drum, or other suitable device, that is to say by means of a conductive member located at the -above the member operating the discharge desmatières, and arranged parallel to the sliding surface of the transport duct.

   The presence of this second conductive member, such as for example a guide drum, which constitutes a completely separate guide element, arranged above the other member intended to raise the materials, has the great advantage that, even in conveyors with coaches of the type known hitherto, in which the coaches are arranged between two endless traction members, parallel to each other, and in which conveyors the transport and return conduits are superimposed, the materials can then be discharged sideways, without any obstacle, therefore freely, since the two traction members are raised at the same time as their drivers to a height such that they are completely above the materials to be discharged and than,

   at least under normal working conditions, this material is no longer in contact with the drive components.

   If, as provided by the present invention, we

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 uses a conductive drum - or a cylinder - which comprises avidities of a conformation allowing to receive the rings of the chain and, on the other hand, recesses corresponding to the shape of the coaches, one obtains, thanks to to this simple construction, a silent and regular work of the traction units at the place where the material spill must be carried out.

   The object of the present invention can be achieved in a particularly simple and inexpensive manner, if the rotating drum is replaced by a fixed guide body of a suitable shape and preferably cylindrical. The guide drum established according to the principle of the invention (or else the guide wall) and the member serving to raise the material to be discharged, may be placed in a common support which, according to the needs or the circumstances of the work, can be mounted anywhere on the conveyor, that is to say over the entire length of the latter.

   The device built according to the present invention can be used especially in dewatering work with more or less pronounced edges, and in particular also in operations by oblique pruning. In this kind of operation, the sliding surface of the transport duct is inclined, that is to say both with respect to the direction line and with respect to the line of greatest slope. The inclined position of the sliding surface of the transport duct facilitates the automatic lateral dumping of materials.

   An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing:
Fig.l is a cross section of a drive conveyor according to the invention.

   Fig. 2 shows the coach transporter in elevation.

   As is generally known, the conveyor with coaches consists of the transport duct 1 and the re-duct.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 round 2, arranged below the first. on the sliding surface 3 constituting the base of the transport duct 1 are arranged two parallel and endless traction members, preferably ordinary chains 4 and b which comprise, arranged between them, s pl aqueentraeurs 6. Cess plateentrainersess determine the speed of movement of materials on the sliding surface 3.

   At the upper and lower ends of the transport duct 1 which is composed of several elements assembled together, and which is arranged above the return duct 2, return pulleys are provided, not shown in the drawings; the first pulley comprises, for example, the control devices, while the other is provided with a tensioning device.

   At any location, that is to say throughout the length of the conveyor, a location determined in short by the working conditions, a guide body 7 is placed in the transport duct 1 which, as can be seen at Fig. 2, lifts the materials in the manner of a plow, so that they passing over the upper edge 8 of the side wall of the transport duct 1 can thus discharge from them- same s.

   Above the guide body 7 is disposed a rotating drum 9, above which pass the traction members 4 and 5 with their driving plates 6; they are therefore completely raised and are no longer in contact with the material. The conductive drum 9 - the drawing does not indicate this detail - may include s recesses corresponding to the links, or even desévidements intended to receive the driving plates. Instead of being shaped like a drum, the conductive member 9 could just as well take the shape - not shown in the drawing - of a fixed cylindrical wall.

   In order to prevent the material to be spilled from escaping from the side opposite to the spill location, it is useful to have

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 ser an additional wall 10, the upper edge of which is higher than the upper edge 8 over which the materials flow laterally.

   In a special variant of the object of the present invention, the conductive drum \: 1 arranged parallel to the sliding surface 3 could also be arranged perpendicular to said sliding surface? ; in this case, the distance between the latter and the drum could be variable, which would allow additional adjustment of the tension of the traction members.

   It goes without saying that the conductive member determining the deflection of the traction members could just as well be used in conveyors with coaches, in which the dumping of the material (earth fill) is carried out in a way other than by a body7 raising the materials.
