Avertisseur lumineux .
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Warning light.
The present invention relates to a warning light, that is to say, to a device for controlling light signals for motor vehicles.
Devices of this type are known which consist of a push button fixed to the steering wheel or a push ring integral with the steering wheel. Certain devices have assembly difficulties or construction complications, while other devices have the drawback of requiring manifold contacts. ..¯¯¯ ¯ bzz¯
To remedy these drawbacks, provision is made, according to the present invention, to produce a push button in such a way that, while allowing excessively simple and economical manufacture,
one can nevertheless perform a rapid and firm mounting of the push button on the fixed steering tube of a motor vehicle, just below the steering wheel, said push button being connected by a flexible wire, to the circuit comprising the circuit of the so-called headlights " code "or" route "in such a way that when the driver presses the push button
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
it causes the "code" or "road II" headlights to come on, despite the switch for these headlights placed on the apron in its zero position and regardless of whether the small town lights are on or not.
With such a device the driver can carry out the signals he wants at street crossings or crossroads, without having to let go of the steering wheel with one hand.
For this purpose the push button according to the inconvtion consists, on the one hand, of a case obtained, for example in one piece by simple stamping and which is provided with a substantially elliptical notch, by which the case comes to bear on the tube fixed in the steering obliquely with respect to this tube, that is to say, substantially vertically since this tube is itself inclined.
This box also comprises, above the said notch, a small console which also comes to rest on the fixed steering tube,
On the other hand, the push button also has two fixing rings, one of which, introduced into the said console, maintains the housing at its upper part, while the other encircles the lower part of the housing opposite the 'indentation. In this way, easy and very rapid mounting of the push button is ensured on the fixed steering tube of an automobile, while preventing any movement of this button under repeated pushes by the driver.
Other details and features of the invention will become apparent from the description of the appended drawing, given for explanatory and non-limiting purposes.
Figure I shows the assembly of push button 2 - 3 fixed in place on the fixed tube 4 of a motor car steering, just below the steering wheel 5,
Figures 2 3 3 and 4 show on a larger scale the components of the push-button.
In FIG. 2, the case 2 has been shown which comprises a notch 2a which is substantially elliptical and which, as can be seen in FIG. I, comes to bear on the fixed steering tube obliquely with respect to this tube, so as to that the box is substantially vertical.
This box also comprises, above the said notch, a small console 2b which by its part 2c also comes to rest on the fixed steering tube, which contributes to keeping the push-button absolutely fixed. 2d is the push button proper and 6 is the flexible cable or wire through which the push button is connected to the e-

lighting of the car which includes, on the one hand, the circuit of the so-called "code" headlights and, on the other hand, the high-beam headlights, The electrical connection is carried out in such a way that when the driver presses on the 2d button,
it causes the "high beam" or "code" headlights to come on, regardless of whether the small town lights are on or not,
On the other hand, the entire push button also includes the two rings 3 and 3 'shown in Figures 3 and 4.
As visible in figure I, the ring 3 is intended to be inserted into the console 2b, while the ring 3 'is intended to encircle the lower part of the housing opposite the notch as also visible in figure I , These rings are provided with clamping tabs 3a pierced with holes to allow the rings to be tightened around the fixed steering tube, for example by means of small bolts and nuts.
