   Joint de rails.

    Wilhelm B R Z E Z I N A

   Rail joint.

    Wilhelm B R Z E Z I N A
The present invention relates to a rail joint making it possible to run trains without impact.

Until now, the rails were joined by bringing their ends closer to each other and by joining the two rails together with fish plates and bolts.

Since the rails are continually subjected to the change of temperature, the joints, i.e. the intervals between adjoining rails, were large during the cold season and hardly existed in summer, since the cold determined a contraction and heat a dilation of the rails. This joint, which is particularly large in the cold season, produced a jolt at each axle when the train was passing, which had to be absorbed by the infrastructure and by the superstructure, and which annoyed passengers. By these shocks, vehicles

The rails and the rails suffered, and the latter, although they were still usable, had to be replaced since, as a result of the jerks, the edges where they meet in pairs wore quickly.

With this, the bed of the rails or sleepers broke down, and continual inspection and repair was necessary to keep the rails usable.

By the object of the present invention, these drawbacks are avoided by hollowing out the end of each rail, on one side internally and on the other side externally, so that two recessed rail ends, placed next to each other, form a rail; the remaining parts have been made several square slots in which square bolts are guided.

The accompanying drawings represent, by way of example, the object of the invention.

Fig.l is a side view of the rail joint.

Fig. 2 shows the rails before they are joined.

The junction of the rails is established by cutting the rail a on one side up to the web, at a point d located at a certain distance from its end, and then along the web to the web. end e, so that a tab f is formed. Rail b is erected in exactly the same way, only vice versa. Each rail is in this way hollowed out at the ends, one end of the rail on the right side, the other end on the left side. The junction of two rails takes place in the simplest way, by placing the tabs f and g on top of each other, so that the profile of the rail is

In the superimposed webs C, rectangular guide slots h have been placed. Square bolts i are guided in these slots. The slots h and bolts 1 are intended to provide good guidance to the rails when they expand or contract due to temperature changes, and at the same time to provide resistance to the train. who passed. To further increase the smoothness of the train, the places where the rails meet are not arranged on a double sleeper, as they were heretofore, but they are alternated, that is to say re that starting from the station we start one of the rows of rails with a rail half longer than the normal rail, in the other row being normal, so that / the adjacent parallel rows of rails, two joints do not coincide not, but the seal is offset; we obtain with this arrangement a much smoother rolling of the train, CLAIM.
