Device for cleaning the lining of card drums, etc.
The present invention relates to a device for cleaning or stripping the lining of card drums, etc. which makes it possible to remove very simply, and quickly the fibers retained in the card lining, this operation was hitherto carried out by hand by means of brushes fitted with card teeth, which was inconvenient and time consuming; the work could also only be done above the drum, making it necessary to remove the worker cylinders located there.
According to the invention, there is provided a bar which extends over the entire length of the drum and is lined with card teeth; this bar oscillates back and forth by a suitable control, for example an eccentric control, and its lining can be brought into engagement with that of the drum.
The accompanying drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention. a designates the frame of a card, b the drum and c the device

feeder and feeder.
The cleaning and unclogging device consists of the bar e equipped with a carding insert d; this bar extends over the entire length of the drum b and is supported at both ends by pivoting lever arms f. The bar e is connected by articulation g and rod h to an eccentric control 1, the shaft of which can be connected to the control of the card by a coupling not shown. The bar e. is fixed to the lower ends of the lever arms f, by screws of. pressure k, at an adjustable distance from the lining of the drum.
In order to be able to easily control the lining d of the bar in engagement with the lining of the drum, or to move these two linings apart from each other, the suspension knobs 1 are for example carried by the eccentrics m which can be turned. by a crank.
During the operation of the card, the bar e is moved away from the filling of the tarabour b. To clean the latter after stopping operation, the bar is brought closer to the lining of the drum, by the means described, so that the two linings are engaged. The drum b is then put into slow rotation and the control members. the eccentric i connected to the control of the card. The bar is thus moved back and forth around the periphery of the rotating drum b, in order to clear the lining of this drum. The fact that the suspension points 1 of the oscillating arms f are eccentric with respect to the shaft n of the drum is irrelevant from the point of view of the movement of the bar in the direction of the periphery of the drum, since the central axis of the arms f passes through the center of the drum.
