<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

As a rule, the wood is carried out in such a way that the pest lath is led from the outside to the inside of the pieces of wood. As a result, a large portion of the pest control products are lost or have an effect, while the

parasites lodged inside the wood are not affected or have them only insufficiently.
The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks and relates to a very simple process which can be implemented with little loss of time and reduced costs and which, on the other hand, is very effective in combating and destroy pests, even if they have penetrated deep into the wood and are in inaccessible places.
In accordance with the invention, is introduced into holes or recesses made in the piece of wood to be treated and oriented transversely to the fibers, antiparasitic products capable of passing into the gaseous state and contained in closed containers, for example. in the form of a cartridge, the wall or envelope of which is broken after or during the sealing of the holes to release the products.
The appended drawing shows schematically some examples of execution of cartridges with antiparasitic products, for the implementation of the process according to the invention.
Figures 1 and 2 show respectively in axial section and in cross section along the line II-II of Figure 1 a first embodiment of an antiparasitic product cartridge comprising a single plug - shutter and thinned transverse areas in its wall.
Figures 3 and 4 show respectively in axial section and in transverse section taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 3, another embodiment of a cartridge containing the antiparasitic product and comprising two. sealing plugs and thinned longitudinal areas in its wall.
FIG. 5 represents a section similar to that of FIG. 4, with longitudinal grooves made in the wall of the cartridge.

Figure 6 shows a soldered bulb-shaped sound cartridge containing another smaller bulb.
FIG. 7 shows in axial section the arrangement, in the hole drilled in the piece of wood, of a cartridge filled with antiparasitic products and comprising longitudinal strips.
In Figures 1 and 2, 1 denotes the closed container in the form of a cartridge containing the antiparasitic product and, for example made of glass or another fragile or easy-to-break material, 2 is the antiparasitic product capable of passing to 1 / gaseous state and such in particular as carbon tetrachloride containing dissolved content of benzene paradichloride or other products. The container 1 has a bottom 3 and it is hermetically sealed by a -cap 4. made of hard wood, metal or. others and a gasket 5.
The stopper 4 has a conical part 6 protruding from the edge of the cartridge and at the same time serving as a stopper for the hole. drilled in the piece of wood to be treated.
In the embodiment of Figures 1 and 2, the wall of the cartridge comprises areas or. transverse thinning bands 7 facilitating the breaking of this wall 1 in the hole. drilled in the piece of wood, after 1 * 'sealing of this hole and producing, consequently, the release of the. antiparasitic product 2 contained in the cartridge and which passes to fêtât gas.
- The rupture of the cartridge takes place preferably in a deep part of the. hole. or. in its middle part.
In the embodiment according to Figures 3 and 4, the cartridge 1 is constituted by a glass tube, closed by two. stoppers 4 and comprising longitudinal strips 8 of thinning, making it possible to break the wall thereof over the entire length and in several places distributed around its periphery.
