<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>
<Desc/Clms Page number 13>
<Desc/Clms Page number 14>
<Desc/Clms Page number 15>

<Desc/Clms Page number 17>
<Desc/Clms Page number 18>
<Desc/Clms Page number 19>
Dans le cas où les voies indirectes sont les mêmes pour plusieurs indicatifs de destination, pour la mène voie principale, il n'est pas nécessaire que ces dernières soient préparées toujours dans la même succession pour les différents indicatifs de destination. Il suffit pour cela que seules les canalisations d'indicatif des différents indica- tifs de destination soient raccordées avec la même voie principale à plusieurs contacts accessibles au frotteur uw1;
<Desc/Clms Page number 20>
<Desc/Clms Page number 21>
<Desc/Clms Page number 22>
<Desc/Clms Page number 23>
<Desc/Clms Page number 24>

Assembly for telephone systems.
The invention relates to telephone installations in which the assignment of a desired direction of traffic is done by means of several groups of current pulses of the same propagation duration consisting of several current pulses created by identical methods or different.
In this regard, provisions have already been made known in which., For the automatic establishment of a desired link by means of a calling subscriber station, three different types of creation can be sent, namely: by updates the successive land of the first or second of. two line wires, or by simultaneous earthing of the two line conductors *,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
By this different earthing of the two line conductors in the context of two successive current pulses, 9 connection combinations can be chosen as in the emission of a 9-digit combination; the number zero cannot then be formed without increasing the number of current pulses.
Current pulse transmitters are therefore provided at the subscriber stations with only 9 series of contacts for each group of two contacts, which for the emission of different types of current pulses are optionally routed in the groups. pulses every two pulses successively according to the desired number.
The first part of such a group of current pulses influences two electromagnetic equipments of connection members prepared in a determined way by means of a combiner (either one or both,) and at the same time closes an electro -control magnet in order to bring, after the completion of the first part of the group of current pulses and the corresponding action on the prepared electromagnetic connection equipment, the combiner to the next position, and in the latter, from prepare corresponding electromagnetic connection equipment for the second part of the current pulse group.
After the reception of the second part of the group of current pulses by the corresponding electromagnetic equipment, the combiner is operated again in order to divide the second group of current pulses corresponding to the next digit in a corresponding manner into two parts, and immediately route them to other electromagnetic control devices. By the different positions of the contact equipments influenced by the electromagnetic connection equipments which are formed in groups of 9 each, the desired connection path is then established.
The object of the present invention is to increase
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the number of possible combinations without increasing the number of successive current pulses. This result is obtained thanks to a particular assembly of the breaking equipment which receives the groups of current pulses, which allows the formation of other groups of current pulses with the same propagation time.
This constitution of the assembly is characterized by the fact that each group of current pulses, among the multiple groups of current pulses used for the assignment, influences a number of groups of relays corresponding to the number of receiving devices for the current pulses of different kinds of production, each of these groups of relays comprising a number of relays corresponding to the number of current pulses which follow one another, and being furthermore equipped with auxiliary relays depending on the completion of a pulse of current, which prepare the relays for successive current pulses of each group of current pulses in the relay groups corresponding to that group.
The arrangement according to the invention offers, compared with known arrangements, the possibility of using groups of current pulses without extension, that is to say with the same expenditure of time, all the figures from 1 to 10 for the formation of 'indicative, that is to say to create a connection system with formation of groups by decades. But there is also the possibility of obtaining other combinations of connections. Obviously, the arrangement according to the invention can also be used when more than two successive current pulses are to be used per groups of pulses.
Likewise then for a full use of the possibilities of combinations available, one obtains an increase in the number of the connection combinations compared to the arrangements with corresponding groups of current pulses, which are formed according to the type of known arrangements.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
For the explanation of the invention, a telephone network is taken as a basis with a multiplicity of central offices, in which each exchange is assigned a determined destination code. This telephone network is not shown here in its extension, but only a section of a central office has been shown comprising only one link channel, and operating equipment.
Figure 1 shows the basic arrangement, while in fig. 2 are shown the connection details essential within the scope of the present invention. The destination code is, as can be seen in the table of FIG. 3, formed by groups of current pulses of the same propagation duration; this propagation time corresponds for each group of current pulses to the emission duration of two successive current pulses. These current pulses are, in the present exemplary embodiment, alternating current pulses, either of the same frequency (a or b), or of two different frequencies (a and b).
Apart from the successive emissions of two current pulses of equal or different frequencies, the two different callsigns can still be produced by the emission of an additional current pulse with respect to one of the current pulses or to both. each time using the different frequency, or by additional emission of a long current pulse, in each case of another frequency. Obviously, one can also use current pulses of another form of formation, for example direct current pulses of different strengths or of different directions, or omitted direct current pulses on different conductors, etc. for the formation of callsigns.
These pulses, under the influence of a station establishing the desired connection channel (for example intermediate operator), influence the groups of current pulses arriving at the transmission.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
in correspondence with the desired intermediate station, after, in the intermediate station reached, for example a transmission Uel is blocked and to this last one, by means of a connection selector is connected a free equipment AE conversion of groups of relays RG of this AE conversion device, which with the cooperation of a group of relays with code K, by the setting of a selector EW, or without this setting, directly determines the destination corresponding to the code of destination,
received in the contact bank of a UW translation selector. This UW translation selector searches for the contact corresponding to the designated destination (direction characteristic point), and then determines, using another connection arm, whether the main channel which was first available for 'the designated destination is free, or in the case where it is occupied, which reversal lane is free among those available for the designated destination.
Depending on the channel to be used (main channel or. Indirect channels), in the contact bank of a JW pulse transmitter is then assigned a determined contact whose position in the contact bank of the transmitter. Current pulses JW is decisive for the number of current pulses of two series of pulses then reaching the emission. The first series of current pulses carries the group selector GW1 assigned to the blocked transmission Uel over a determined decade, in which it searches for a group-free selector, for example GW1; the latter is then transferred by the second series of current pulses over a determined decade in which it seeks a free transmission, for example Ue2.
If, for example, by this transmission Ue2 a link line leading to a next central station, and by this a transmission corresponding to the transmission Uel shown in FIG. 1 are blocked, it takes place according to the response.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
g setting of the K code relays corresponding to the received destination indices, setting of a user equipment provided in the next intermediate station, which correspondingly causes the selector to be set.
This channel constitution extends from intermediate station to intermediate station, until the desired intermediate station is reached, Thus the characteristic assigned to the desired station is carried over from station to station, and then, after the desired station is reached, for example by means of a return signal, is caused the transmission of further series of current pulses corresponding to the desired subscriber, to complete the establishment of the desired communication.
This constitution of Plaisons, first exposed in broad outline, is now taken up in detail as follows:
When the transmission Uel shown in figure 1, of which only the separate line conductors passing for example through an AW connection selector are shown in figure 1, is blocked, it is done by the conductors c, because the combiner of l The operating equipment AE is in position 1, an energization of relay C by winding I, whereupon, after closing contact 2c, and the subsequent removal of the short circuit of winding II of relay C , this winding is also switched on.
By setting up this circuit, the preceding station is sent, in a way that is irrelevant here, the transmission of the destination code assigned to the desired intermediate station. If we admit that this code corresponds to the code 528, then from a previous set (operator or central office), according to the table shown in figure 3, three groups of control pulses are sent, the first of which is corresponds to number 5, the second to number 2, and the third to number 8. The first group of current pulses consists of two successive current pulses of frequency a, and at the same time as the second pulse is still emitted a pulse current frequency b.
The second
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
The group of pulses consists of two consecutive pulses, the first of which is a current pulse of frequency b, and the second a pulse of frequency a.
The third group of pulses consists of two successive pulses of frequency b, a current pulse of frequency a being further emitted in addition to the first of these two pulses. By the first part of the first group of pulses, which consists of a pulse of frequency a, and through conductor a, relay A is energized. The following circuit is therefore constituted: -; H1a, 22h2a, combiner in position 1, 13a, +. In this circuit, the relay Hla is energized. If the first current pulse with frequency a is completed, relay A is currentless, so that the following circuit is established: -, Hla, H2a I, H2a II, 17hla, 15c, +. In this circuit, relay H1a holds, while relays H2a and H2b are energized.
If we then receive the second part of the first group of pulses, which consists of two current pulses emitted simultaneously - the first with frequency a, and the second with frequency b, - relays A and B are simultaneously excited via conductors a and b. After closing of contact 13a, an excitation of relay H3a is created by the circuit: D I, H3a I, 21h2a, combiner in, position 1, 13a, +. In addition, following the closing of contact 14b, the following circuit is formed: D I, H3b, I, 27h2b, combiner in position 1, 14b, +. The relays
H3a and H3b are intercalated by closing the contacts 16h3a, as well as 20h3b, via the contact
15c with their windings II in a holding circuit.
Relay D, influenced in the excitation circuit of relays H3a, as well as H3b, causes, after closing of contact 128d, an excitation of relay F via: -, FI, 125u, 126ds, 128d, combiner in position 1, +. As, after the completion of the second part of the first pulse group, relays A and B are again without current, that is to say that at contacts 13a and 14b the circuit for the winding I of the relay D
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
is separated after closing of contact 137d, because relay F as a delayed relay keeps its contact 138f closed for a certain time, a circuit is formed for the operating electromagnet Ds of the combiner,
so that the latter executes a maneuver and brings his trotters to position 2. As after receiving the first group of current pulses, the contacts 57hlb, 59h3b and 61h3a are closed, in the pyramid of contacts I, after the when the combination is at position 2, the excitation of the K5 code relay closes via the circuit: -, K5, 61h3a, 59h3b, 57hlb, combiner in position 2, 52s, +. The K5 indicator relay closes among other things in the contact group I of the indicator contacts its 122k5 contact, in order to determine whether the desired goal is already known after the reception of the first group of pulses, and if therefore the goal for the assignment of the direction for the emission of pulses is sufficiently determined.
As is the case in the previous example, this contact is not wired with the IS bar connected to the + blade. As a result, there is no excitation of relay E by winding I. In the meantime, in position 2 of the combiner is received the second group of pulses which consists of a pulse at frequency b and a consecutive pulse with the frequency a. The pulse received by wire # b, forming the first part of the second group of pulses with frequency b, energizes relay B, so that the following circuit is established: -, H4b, 39h5b, combiner in position 2, 14b, +. In this circuit, the relay H4b is energized, and after the completion of the current pulse with the frequency b, the following circuit is established: -, H4b, H5b I, H5a II, 35h4b, 15c, +.
In this circuit, relay H4b remains energized, while the excitation of relays H5b and H5a is established.
When the second part of the second group of current pulses arrives, which consists of a current pulse with frequency a through conductor # a, the relay
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
A is excited, the following circuit is established: -, D I, H6a I, 33h5a, combiner in position 2, 13a, +. In this circuit, the rail D and the relay H6a are then activated.
The relay H6a is inserted with its winding II, after closing of the contact 26h6a by the contact 15c, in a holding circuit. The energization of relay D again causes the action of relay F through contact 129d, and after the current has been removed following the de-energization of relay A, a continuation of the movement of the combiner by the action of its switch. Ds control electromagnet via conductors 137d and 138f. The combiner then reaches position 3.
As after the reception of the second group of current pulses, the contacts 78h4a, 80h6b, 82h6a, and 84h4a are closed, in the pyramid of contacts II, an excitation of the assignment relay K2 is formed by the circuit: -, K2, 84h4a, 82h6a, 80h6b, 78h4a, combiner in position 3, Me, 54e, 52s, +. In this circuit, the Me relay also responds.
By energizing the assignment relay K2, the contact 123k2 among others in contact group II of the assignment contacts is closed. As, after the reception of the second group of current pulses, the desired destination is not yet recognized, this contact is connected with the S2 bar, so that if then the adjustment selector EW starts to turn and reaches by its frotteurewl the contact 20, a circuit is established by the resistance Wi2. The EW setting selector is switched on in any way, here without interest, after closing the 150me contact after the excitation of the Me relay has been established, as has already been described in the relay circuit. of codes K2 in position, of combiner 3.
When the arm ewl thus reaches the contact 20, the following circuit is established: -, Wi2, combiner in position 3, S2, l23k2, ewl on the contact 20, 160me, Pe, +.
In this circuit, the Pe relay is energized and stops the EW setting selector in some way, here without
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
interest, by closing the 151pe contact. In the meantime, the third group of pulses is received. By the first part of this group of pulses which consists of two pulses emitted simultaneously - one at frequency a, and the other at frequency b - relays A and B are simultaneously energized by conductors # a and, - b . By contact 13a the following circuit is established: -, H7a, 46h8a, - combiner in position 3, 13a, +. via contact 14b the following circuit is established: -, H7b, 51h8b, combiner in position 3, 14b, +. While in the first named circuit, relay H7a is energized, in the second circuit, relay H7b responds.
After removing the circuit in relays A and B, on completion of the first part of the third group of pulses, following the closing of contact 41h7a the following circuit is established: -, H7a, H8a I, H8b II, 41h7a, 15c, +. By contact 47h7b, the following circuit closes: -, H7b, H8b I, H8a II, 47h7b, 15c, +. According to this, after receiving the first part of the third group of pulses, apart from the relays H7a and H7b, the relays H8a and H8b are also energized.
By the second part of the third group of pulses which consists of a pulse at frequency b, after closing contact 14b, the following circuit is established: -, DI, H9b I, 50h8b, combiner in position 3, 14b , +.
In this circuit the relays D and H9b are energized. The relay H9b is inserted by its winding II by the contacts 44h9b and 15c in the holding circuit. By energizing relay D, relay F is energized by the circuit: - F I, 125u, l26ds, 128d, 133pe, combiner in position 3, +.
After the reopening of relay D, by opening contact 14b, the operating electromagnet Ds of the combiner is influenced, so that the combiner is taken from position 3 to position 4. As after receiving the third group of pulses, the contacts lllh7a, l12h7b, 114h9b, 116h9a, and 120h8a are closed in the contact pyranide III, the energization of the assignment relay K8
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
is established by the circuit: -, K8, 120h8a, 116h9a, 114h9b, 112h7b, 111h7a, combiner in position 4, Me, 54th, 52s, +.
As with the advancement of the combiner from position 3 to position 4, the assignment relay K2 is without current, and so the contact 123k2 is open and the relay Pe is without excitation, the setting selector EW, because contact 150me is closed, is then advanced again in order to search for a contact assigned by contact 124k8 in contact group III. It turns until its ewl slider reaches contact 28.
As can be seen in figure 2, precisely the contacts 11 to 19, and in the same way the corresponding contacts of the other groups of contacts of the 100-division EW adjustment selector constructed as a motor selector, are connected to the contacts. individual to be actuated in contact group III 'of assignment relays Kl - K9. The relay Pe then responds after contact 28 is reached by the circuit: -, E I, combiner in position 4, 124k8, ewl on contact-28, 160me, Pe, +. In this circuit, the Pe relay is energized and stops the EW setting selector by closing the 151pe contact.
The relay E short-circuits the relay Me by closing, of contact 55e, so that the relay Me becomes without current, and after closing of the contact 130me, causes an excitation of the relay F by the circuit: -, FI, 125u, 126ds , 130th, combiner in position 4, +.
By closing the contact 138f, the Ds electromagnet of the combiner is energized, so that the combiner passes to position 5. In this position of the combiner, the following circuit is established: -, K5, 61h3a, 59hSb, 57hlb, combiner in position 5, Mu, 52s, +. In this circuit energizing the assignment relay K5 and the relay Mu.
By closing contact 188k5, in contact group II on the beam of assignment lines KL, which can be determined in a manner not shown here in detail, connected to the various wipers ew2 to ew8 of the adjustment selector
<Desc / Clms Page number 12>
EW, or directly connected to determined contacts in the contact bank scanned by the wiper uwl of a translator selector UW, is determined for example the line KL5 which is connected with the wiper ew4.
As the wiper ew4 is located on the contact 28 depending on the command previously performed by the wiper ewl, the desired destination in the conversion equipment AE is thus assigned. In the previous case, using the operating equipment AE, one can for example assign 1000 destinations.
These 1000 destinations assigned directly on one of the lines of the assignment beam KL, or by one of the wipers ew2 to ew8, are in the previous embodiment combined, so as to correspond to the distribution of the connection channels for these 1000 destinations on the 100 outputs (directions) accessible via the second group selection stages, in 100 direction codes, which are arranged on the contact bank accessible to the uwl wiper of the 100-part UW conversion selector produced as a motor selector. In the previous case, the destination 528 fixed by means of the wiper ew4 can be connected to the characteristic steering point 31 in the contact bank accessible to the wiper uwl.
As in series with the assignment relay K5 in the position of combiner 5, the IMu relay is energized by closing the 152mu contact, the UW conversion selector can be turned on in a way without interest here. He then searches with his second wiper uwl for the assigned contact 31. When the latter is reached, the following circuit is established: -, Wi2, combiner in position 5, S2, 188k5, KL5, ew4 on contact 28, uwl on contact 31, Pu, l6lmu, 162s, 163c, +. In this circuit, the Pu relay is energized, and by closing the 153pu contact, the UW translator selector stops. After closing the 164pu contact, the U relay is energized which is interposed by its 165u contact in a circuit.
<Desc / Clms Page number 13>
maintenance.
By closing of. contact 53u, the Mu relay, as a result of the short circuit, is de-energized. For the assigned direction are then available, in the present exemplary embodiment, different connection paths, for example a main track which represents the track always to be used first and three indirect tracks, thus for example passing connecting tracks. by other intermediate stations than the main track.
The occupation of these connection channels is signaled by contacts which are provided jointly for all the equipment available for use by the intermediate station concerned by the fact that, as long as a free line is still available in the connection channel concerned, these contacts are closed and, on the contrary, are open when all the connection lines are occupied. Thus, for example, if the main channel assigned after setting the UW translation selector is free on contact 31, i.e. if the 167gh contact common for all the equipment of use is closed, it is established by this contact and by the wiper uw6 on the contact 31 in position 5 of the combiner, the rail U being energized, a circuit for the relay K.
The relay K closes, after its excitation, the contact 171k, so that at the contact 31 reached by the wiper uw2 via the resistance Wi3, the contact 171k and the position 5 of the combiner, a minus potential at an accessible contact for the iwl wiper of a 100-division JW pulse selector established as a motor selector.
In the previous example, o is the contact 19. If the group selector GW1 shown in figure 1 is available for receiving the first series of pulses, it is established by the conductor g shown in figure 2. and the contact 5k a circuit passing through the resistance Wil for the relay G, so that the relay G, after its excitation, is inserted through the winding II of the relay D and the contact 6g in a holding circuit. Relay D, which responds to the re-
<Desc / Clms Page number 14>
lais F through contact 134d. By closing contact 189g, an excitation of relay Mi is established by the circuit: -, Mi 1, iw2 on contact 0, 189 g, +.
By closing the 154mi contact, the JW pulse selector is started in any way, here without interest. Via contact 173mi, relay V is energized. During operation, the pulse selector JW emits at each of the passages on the contacts of individual decades (for example 10,20, 30, etc.) a current pulse towards the group selector. As in the previous case, contact 19 is assigned to the contact bank accessible to the iwl wiper, it emits only a single pulse to the group selector GW1, because until this contact is reached alone, the 10 decade contact was scanned by its iw2 wiper.
If the wiper iw2 reaches contact 10 in particular, the following circuit is established: -, P 1, 186i, 185mi, 187es, iw2 on contact 10, 189g, +. In this circuit, the relay P is energized and is inserted, after closing the contact 174p, with its winding II, in a holding circuit which passes through the felais J, so that this relay is also energized, and by its contact 8i and the conductor 1 emits a current pulse to the selector not shown GW1 by which the group selector GW1 is raised to the first decade. In the meantime, the pulse selector JW continues to advance, and in this case only up to contact 19 which follows contact 10, because this contact is assigned via the wiper uw2 with a negative potential.
The following circuit is formed: -, Wi3, 171k, combiner in position 5, uw2 on contact 51, iwl on contact 19, Pi, 172g, +. By closing the 158pi contact, the pulse selector is maintained. By closing contact 175i, relay P is meanwhile opened, so that after opening contact 174p, relay J is also without current again. By opening the contact 180i, the relay Mi until now maintained on it.
<Desc / Clms Page number 15>
and after opening of the 173-mi contact, also the relay V is switched off. After closing the 178pi contact, the ES relay in series with the H relay is energized by the circuit., -, H, 183s, ES, 178pi, 189g, +. By closing the 179h contact, the ES and H relays are put independently of the 178pi contact in a holding circuit.
By closing the 155th contact, after opening the 157th contact, the progress control of the JW pulse selector takes place. Then after the first closing of contact 177th relay J is energized. As after the first pulse caused by the passage of contact 10, which brought the group selector GW1 to the first decade, no further current pulse followed until contact 19 was reached, the group selector has, in the usual way, searched in the first decade for a free group selector, for example Ew2.
The latter is then, by closing the contact 8i, lifted from one advancement by the intermediary of the driver i. By closing contact 180i, relay ES is short-circuited, so that by opening contact 177es, relay J is also deprived of current. After opening the contact 180i, the relay ES responds again with the contact 179h, so that the pulse selector JW executes a new advance. Relay J is energized again, so that a current pulse is again sent to group selector GW2. The number of current pulses to the group selector GW2 is determined by the number of advances that the pulse selector JW must perform from contact 19 until it reaches the next group contact, i.e. contact 20 .
There are therefore in this case 9 pulses, because the contacts are encrypted in the opposite direction to the forward movements. The group selector GW2 is thus raised to the 9th decade. The emission of pulses is completed by the fact that after contact 20 is reached by the wiper iw2 after de-energization of the relay ES, the relay S is energized and by the opening of the contact 183s, by cutting off the relay H, prevent
<Desc / Clms Page number 16>
a new excitation of the ES relay and thus also of the J relay.
When the group selector GW2 has reached a free transmission, for example Ue2, the circuit which passes through the conductor g is subsequently, by means of the recall which is then made from there and not shown here of the destination code, interrupted for relays L and D, so that after closing contact 137d the combiner continues to advance to location 6. As relays U and K are de-energized, either relay U by opening contact 162s, and relay K by opening contact 166u, the combiner is carried further after closing contact 135k in a visible manner without more. After closing of the 10 g contact, the Mi relay is energized by the 9wiw shaft contact of the JW pulse selector. The latter moves to the rest position.
In the position of combiner 10, relay k5 is energized again by means of the pyramid of contacts I, so that after closing of contact 190k5, winding I of relay Ja is energized by the following circuit: - , Ja I, 190k5, combiner in position 10, 140 f (141ds), 139c, +. By closing contact llia an alternating current pulse of frequency a is emitted.
When the combiner abandons position 10, the Ja relay is without current. For the combiner position 11, as the relay ES is also energized by the pyramid of contacts I in the combiner position 11, the contact 191k5 generates an energization of the windings II of the relays Ja and Jb by the circuit: -, Jb II, Ja II, 191k5, combiner in position 11, 140f (141ds), 139c, +. Each current pulse with frequency a or b is emitted at the same time by closing contacts 11ia and 12ib. When the combiner abandons position 11, relay k5 is without current.
Likewise, the Ja and Jb relays are de-energized. If then the combiner arrives at position 12, through this position of the combiner and the pyramid of contacts II, the relay K2 is ex-
<Desc / Clms Page number 17>
quotes which, after closing the 192k2 contact, causes an excitation of the winding I of relay Jb. By closing contact 12ib, a current pulse is emitted with frequency b. When the combiner abandons position 12, relay Jb is again without current.
When the combiner arrives at position 13, as the relay K2 is also energized, in this position of the combiner, via the pyramid of contacts II, the winding I of the relay Ja is energized by the contact 193k2, so than an impulse. AC current with frequency a is emitted by contact llia. When the combiner abandons position 13, relays K2 and Ja are without current. The combiner arrives at position 14 in which relay K8 is energized by means of the pyramid of contacts III. By the contact 194k8 the windings II of the relays Ja and Jb are energized, so that by closing the contacts 11ia and 12ib pulses of frequencies a and b respectively are emitted simultaneously.
When the combiner abandons position 14, the Ja and Jb relays are without current. When it arrives at position 15, as the relay K8 is also energized, in this position of the combiner, via the pyramid of contacts III it is established, via the contact 195k8, an excitation of l winding I of relay Jb, so that after closing of contact 12ib a frequency pulse b is emitted.
It can thus be recognized that the destination code (528) received by the operating equipment AE is sent after the setting of the step selector GW1 and GW2 in the same form to the following intermediate station: After the transmission of the destination code in any way here irrelevant, the user equipment Ae is disengaged and prepared for the constitution of a new link.
If the main channel assigned as free by the closed contact 167gh in the previous description was occupied for the destination code 528, so that
<Desc / Clms Page number 18>
contact l67gh is open after closing contact 166u, relay K is not energized in position 5 of the combiner.
As a result, no excitation of relays L and D is formed which would otherwise be made by contact 5k. Relay F is energized through contact 135k and continues the advance of the combiner in position 6. In this latter position, relay K tries using the operating arm uw7 which is on contact 31 if the first indirect channel is free. As the common contact 168gul is then closed, the maneuvering processes described above only happen now. Then the emission of pulses to the group selectors is determined by the contact arm uw3 which is located on the contact 31 and which is wired with another contact accessible to the frotteuriwl.
If the first indirect channel is also occupied, relay K does not respond in combiner position 6 (168gul open) either. The combiner goes to position 7 in order to try via relay K, via the wiper un'8, and when the second indirect channel is free (169gu2 closed) to determine by the wiper uw4 the emission of a current pulse.
If the second indirect channel is also occupied, relay K does not respond either in position 7 of the combiner (169gu2 open). The combiner goes to position 8 in order to try through relay K, through the wiper uw9, and when the third indirect channel is free (170gu3 closed) to determine through the wiper uw5 the emission of a pulse.
If all the indirect channels are occupied, the combiner arrives at position 9. Then relay K responds, which assigns the emission of a determined impulse by which an auxiliary station is reached through the group selector.
Obviously, it is not compulsory to provide three indirect routes. The number can be more or less. Then the auxiliary station is assigned later or earlier accordingly.
<Desc / Clms Page number 19>
In the case where the indirect routes are the same for several destination codes, for the main route lead, it is not necessary that the latter always be prepared in the same succession for the different destination codes. For this, it suffices that only the code lines of the different destination codes are connected with the same main channel to several contacts accessible to the wiper uw1;
the corresponding contacts in the contact bank accessible to the uw2 wiper are connected to the same contact in the contact bank accessible to the iwl wiper, while the corresponding contacts of the contact banks accessible to the uw3 - uw8 wipers are connected so as to correspond to the succession of the indirect channels desired for each destination code, with the contapts determining the emission of impulses for the individual indirect channels in the contact bank accessible to the iwl wiper.
In the contact arms accessible to the uw6-uw8 wipers, the connections with the various occupancy contacts are made as shown in figure 2.
If, for example, the destination code 529 has the same main channel as the destination code 528, the corresponding assignment line (529) is connected to the contact 32 according to figure 2. The contact 32 accessible to the wiper uw2 is the same, because the same main track is in question; connected to the contact 19 of the slider iwl according to FIG. 2. On the contrary, when the first indirect channel for 529 corresponds to the second indirect channel for 528, that the second indirect channel for 529 corresponds to the third indirect channel for 528, and that the third indirect path for 529 corresponds to the first indirect path for 528, the connections of the other contacts 32 are made according to figure 2.
For the same main track and different indirect tracks, there is only multiple coupling for the main track.
<Desc / Clms Page number 20>
As emerges from the above description, the relay G is without current when calling the destination assignment with a view to sending it to the next intermediate station. The same process is established when for example the group selector GW1 or GW2 passes in the decade reached by the emission of current. Then by continuing the advance of the combiner, because the winding II of relay D is also deprived of current, the next available indirect channel is sought by one of the wipers uw6-uw8, and after disengaging the set group selector, a new transmission corresponding current pulse is caused by selector JW.
As it has already been mentioned for the reception of the first group of pulses of the destination code 528, after the energization of the relay K5 by the contact 122k5 of the group I the device tests whether the link channel to be used for the Destination code 528 is already assigned by the first group of pulses; this was not the case in destination code 528.
Consequently, the contact 122k5 is not connected to the bar Sl, but if it is then admitted that, for example in the destination code 170, the link channel to be used is already known after reception of the first group of 'pulses, as after the reception of the first group of pulses the relay Kl is energized by the intermediary of the pyramid of contacts I, in position 2 of the combiner the contact 196kl is connected to the bar S1, that is to say say that in the position of combiner 2, relay E is energized by its winding I and by closing contacts 55e causes the relay Me to be short-circuited, so that this, after the reception of the second group of pulses, does not energize in position 3 of the combiner, as in the destination code 528. The EW setting selector is not turned on (150me contact open).
The determined destination corresponding to the destination code 170, for example
<Desc / Clms Page number 21>
via an assignment line KL1, is therefore assigned directly in the direction in the contact group accessible to the wiper uwl. In the meantime, the second and third groups of pulses are taken from the operating equipment AE. As can be seen in the table of figure 3, the second group of pulses following the code 7 consists of two consecutive current pulses at frequency a, and a long current pulse at frequency b emitted during transmission of these two impulses.
Thus, relay A is actuated twice through conductor a, while relay B a remains energized without interruption while this influence is exerted through conductor # b. By the first closing of the contact 13a in the position of the combiner 2, the relay H4a is energized visibly in FIG. 2, and at the same time by the closing of the contact 14b ′ via the position 2 of the Combiner relay H4b is energized. When the first pulse at frequency a has ended, contact 13a is open. The excitation of relay H5a is established by the circuit: -, H4a, H5aI, 31h4b, 29h4a, 15c, +.
It is recognized that then relay H5b is not energized by its winding II because this winding is short-circuited by contact 31h4b; then relay H4b remains, as a result of the long pulse at frequency b acting on relay B, energized by means of contact 14b in the position of combiner 2. If the second energization of the corresponding relay A is established. at the second current pulse through contact 13a in position 2 of the combiner as contact 33h5a is closed, winding I of relay H6a is energized. This relay is put with its winding II via contact 26h6a in a holding circuit.
As after the emission of the second group of pulses, the contacts 89h4a, 90h4b, 91h6b, 93h6a and 95h5b are closed in the pyramid of contacts II, after position 3 of the combiner
<Desc / Clms Page number 22>
is reached, relay K7 is energized. No maneuver whatsoever is caused by this because the connection path to be used is already, as has been said, known as soon as the first group of pulses is received. By the second group of pulses corresponding to the emission of pulses to be taken on the table of figure 3, 1 and by the intermediary of the pyramid of contacts III, the relay K10 is energized in position 4 of the combiner. Likewise, this relay does not first of all cause any particular maneuver because the direction indicator has already been made.
If then the combiner arrives at position 5, as in the example described above (destination code 528), the Mu relay is energized. The UW conversion selector is activated by the 152mu contact. It is set in accordance with the destination code 170 and causes, by means of the pulse selector JW which is set on the conversion selector UW, a corresponding adjustment of the two group selection stages. The determination of the main path and the indirect path takes place as has already been described.
After the establishment of the connection channel in the central station, the destination code 170 is sent to the next closest intermediate office, the wire relays, K7 and K10 being again successively influenced and each causing a corresponding emission of pulses by the 'intermediary of the combiner positions by influencing the Ja and Jb relays.
If the link channel to be used is not recognized already after reception of the first group of pulses, but for example after reception of the second, the following operations are carried out:
If for example the destination code corresponds to the code 396, by the first group of pulses corresponding to the number 3, the relay K3 is energized by the pyramid of contacts @, while by the second group of pulses corresponding to the number 3. number 9 relay K9 is influenced by the pyramid of contacts II. Like this
<Desc / Clms Page number 23>
is visible in the table of figure 3, the group of pulses corresponding to the number 9 consists of two pulses of frequency b during the emission of which is emitted a long pulse at frequency a.
This means that in this way in position 2 of the combiner, by the current pulse at the frequency a, the relay H4a is energized after the closing of the contact 13a and remains following the emission of a long pulse for the duration of the two pulses at the frequency b, excited in interruption by the contact 14b twice activated, so that with the first activation of the contact 14b, the relay H4b is energized in order to maintain itself after the first opening of the contact 14b in series with winding I of relay H5b without the winding @I of relay H5a in this circuit being energized, because it is short-circuited by contact 37h4a. In the second actuation of contact 14b, winding I of relay H6b connected by contact 38h5b is energized.
Relay H6b is maintained with its winding II via contact 32h6b. After position 3 of the combiner is reached, relay K9 is then energized via the pyramid of contacts II by the circuit: -, K9, 99h5a, 96h6a, 92h6b, 90h4b, 89h4a, combiner in position 3, Me , 54th, 52s, +. The Me relay energized likewise activates the EW setting selector again via the 150me contact. When the ewl operating arm reaches contact 90 assigned by contact 197k9 in contact group II, relay E responds with the circuit: -, EI, combiner in position 3, S3, 197k9, ewl on contact 90, 160me , Pe, +.
The EW setting selector is stopped by the closing of contact 55e, the Me relay is short-circuited, so that in position 4 of the combiner no excitation of the Me relay can take place. The setting selector is therefore not further adjusted. The destination 396 is sufficiently determined. By the third group of pulses corresponding to the number 6,
<Desc / Clms Page number 24>
relay K6 is energized via the pyramid of contacts III without first causing any other action whatsoever.
The UW conversion selector which is started according to the usual method then searches, as in the preceding examples, for the destination for the communication of the figurative point of direction on its contact bank, on which then the emission of the pulse is operated by the JW pulse selector.
In the previous exemplary embodiment, for the assignment of the desired direction of traffic; pulses of two different frequencies are emitted, so that for each group of pulses two groups of telais are provided. Each relay group includes, because the maximum number of consecutive pulses is two, two receiving relays and additionally contains auxiliary relays which, in the two groups of relays, after receiving the first pulse, prepare for the reception of the second. impulse. These auxiliary relays depend on the termination of the first pulse, so that preparation in a relay group does not take place for receiving a second pulse when a long pulse is issued.
