<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

designed in such a way that the alignment (a), position adjustable in both axial directions of the cutter clamp, the middle (b) of the inclination angle adjuster which can pivot in the two directions indicated by the arrows (b1) and the center (c) of the device for adjusting the movable meshing angle (e1) in both directions of:
arrow (ol) are on a common coordinate axis (d), the axis (e) of the measuring point (f), movable in both directions, of a feeler device intersecting at right angles to the pivot point (b) with the coordinate axis, so that when moving the 4 functions, the coordination remains exactly maintained.
Thanks to the simple adjustment possibilities, the most reliable measuring results are always obtained in the shortest time. The control apparatus according to the invention is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 thereof is a front elevational view: Figure 2, a top plan view; FIG. 3, a side elevational view of the tester for the helical milling cutters.
In the tester, the helical cutter (12), shown schematically, is taken by the clamping device (1) for the cutter. The clamping headstocks of the cutter are fixed on a table (2) movable longitudinally in both directions of the alignment line (a) for example by means of a hand wheel (8) and this table is placed on a body (3) which can be tilted by means of a hand wheel (6) or another similar device, in the direction of the two arrows (b1) (fig 1).
Below the tilting body (3), there is a pivoting support or receptacle (4) provided with a rotating part (4a). The swivel support and the revolving part can optionally be made in one piece. The rotating part (4a) of the swivel support (4) can be turned by a handwheel (7) or the like in the direction of the arrows (c1) (fig 2) below and is placed in a suitable way. on the base or fixed part (5).
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Laterally, on or next to the base (15) is an upright (11) for a support bracket (10) for the feeler apparatus (9), which is movable, by means of a hand wheel (9a ) or a similar component in both directions of the alignment line (#).
In the drawings, 13 signifies, in addition, the angle of inclination of the adjustment or focus, which corresponds to the angle of inclination of the cutter, and 14, the angle of engagement of the cutter. setting, which corresponds to the angle of engagement of the cutter.
The setting of the tester and the measurement of a helical milling cutter for straight toothed wheels or a helical milling cutter for worm gear is carried out as follows: a) for the helical milling cutter for straight toothed wheels:
1) Adjustment of the angle of inclination (13) of the cutter by a correct rotation of the. handwheel 6 (in the direction of arrow b1).
S) Fixing of the meshing angle (14) of the cutter by a correct rotation of the handwheel 7 (in the direction of the arrow c1).
3) Movement to bring the side of the cutter to the measuring point f of the device. feeler (9) by turning the handwheel (8) (in both directions of the alignment line a).
4) Movement of the measuring point f by moving the device, such as feeler, to move away from the side of the cutter (in both directions of the alignment line e).
The feeler device is adjusted in such a way that the indicator needle, placed at the zero point, maintains the same position in the case where there is exactness of the engagement angle or complete straightness or precision of the flanks. Leads of the needle to the right or to the left indicate inaccuracy in the angle of engagement and straightness of the felt flank. Any holes in the side of the cutter are revealed during removal by a deflection of the needle. the feeler apparatus may be provided, instead of a needle with a graduated plate, with any other measuring means, for example graphic, optical or electrical. '' b) for the helical cutter for worm gear.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
To adjust this, the same operations are required as in the case of a helical milling cutter for straight toothed wheels%, with the exception, however, of adjusting the meshing angle. the alignment (a) of the cutter clamp remains in the horizontal position for measurement.
The control device therefore makes it possible, through simple adjustments, to always obtain certain measurement results in the shortest possible time.
CLAIMS
1) Testing device for helical or expanding cutters for worm screws and straight toothed wheels, in particular for measuring the meshing angle, the symmetry of this angle and the accuracy or straightness of the flanks, characterized in that the alignment (a), movable in both axial directions, of the cutter clamping device, the middle (b) of the member will govern the angle of inclination, which can tilt or rotate in both arrow directions (bl), and the center (c) of the gear angle adjuster pivoting in both arrow directions (c1) are located on the same coordinate axis (d ), while the axis (e) of the measuring point () moving in both directions of arrow (e1), intersects at right angles to the pivot point (b)
with the coordinate axis, so that when moving the 4 functions the coordination remains rigorously maintained.
