<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY filed in support of an application for a PATENT OF INVENTION “Impermeable packaging for fats and aromatics”.
The invention relates exclusively to packaging intended for fats and / or aromatics and more especially to packaging in the form of bags and sachets.
In order to ensure a practically perfect seal against fats and / or aromatics - in order to preserve the packaged products all their original principles - according to the invention, packaging is produced in the form of bags or sachets according to the invention. the usual technique, but by introducing a special lining.
This lining is produced by the superposition of at least two sheets of paper, at least one of which is impermeable to grease, at least one layer of paraffin or a similar product or of similar function being interposed between
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
two adjacent sheets of said liner.
Externally, the packaging is therefore in the usual form and appearance so that these improved sachets benefit from all the advantages of conventional packaging, in particular as regards the characteristics of the printing and the preservation of the external appearance. Internally, these packages are such that the fats and aromatics are systematically prevented from infiltrating so that they can reach the visible outer bag.
The conditions of the invention can be achieved by superimposing a sheet of fat-impermeable paper and a sheet of waxed paper. These two sheets can be kept independent of one another or else they can be joined, for example, by a heat-settable treatment. An identical result can be expected by starting with a sheet of paper impervious to grease and wax which is juxtaposed with a sheet of plain paper or - in order to achieve a superior result - with a second sheet of paper impermeable to grease and wax. fat.
In any event, care will be taken to always place the sheet impermeable to fatty substances inside the packaging, so that this sheet comes into contact with the product to be packaged.
It is possible to start from two waxed papers, at least one of which is impermeable to fatty substances. According to the invention, it is also possible to juxtapose any number of such sheets in principle, provided that at least one sheet of paper impermeable to fatty substances is interposed between the packaged product and the outer packaging. at least one layer of paraffin or of product of equivalent function.
Such an improved packaging is particularly suitable for the packaging, transport and storage of food products, such as coffee, cocoa, tea etc.

The application of the invention can, on the other hand, be extended by using such improved packaging in generally any sizes and shapes.
1.- Impermeable packaging for fats and aromatics, characterized in that, being in the form of bags or sachets, it has a lining formed by at least two papers separated by a layer of paraffin or similar product, at least one of the papers being impervious to fat.
