 EMI1.1

  JAME TUBUT,12 POUR CYCLES, ,1V10T:OOYOS ES-ANALO&I#S

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   Sur ce dessin ;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

  JAME TUBUT, 12 FOR CYCLES,, 1V10T: OOYOS ES-ANALO & I # S
The present invention relates to a rim
 EMI1.2
 tubular for cycles, motooyolea and the like * The invention relates more to a metal rim, which can be made.

     in lift alloys, steel or any other metal, the profile of the bearing surface of
 EMI1.3
 said rim may be provided to allow the installation of removable tires, tubular or solid tires
It is known that the known tabular rims of any one of the types mentioned above are closed either by welding or by internal sleeving.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   probed or sleeved and whatever the tubular profile adopted for the rim, when the spokes are fitted. nuts' of these come to rest directly on the inner wall of the underside of said tabular profile.

   These nuts are thus housed in the internal space created: of the finished rim. This compulsory assembly with. Known rims, constitute a major drawback because the traction of the spokes on the rim is exerted, through the intermediary of the spoke nipples, only on a thin wall of the rim, from which there results a limitation. voluntary in the tension of the spokes and, often, a rapid decommissioning of the rim.

   The subject of the invention is a rim closed by internal sleeving which completely overcomes the aforementioned drawback, this rim being characterized in that it is produced with a tabular profile, the two internal walls of which are tangent on one side. sufficiently large surface to allow the fitting of spokes, the nuts of which rest directly on the face of the rim with which the rolling lining comes into contact:. inner tube, hose or other.

   According to another characteristic of the invention, the two ends of the rim to be joined together are each provided, by stamping, with a housing intended to receive the assembly sleeve of the rim.

   Other characteristics as well as the main advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended drawing which represents, diagrammatically and simply by way of example, an embodiment of the invention. rim.

   On this drawing ;

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 Fig I is a sectional elevation view of a half rim, this view showing the assembly by an internal sleeve. Fig 2 is a sectional view along II-II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a perspective view with cutaway of a portion of the rim of the / pin 2, The pin 4 is a view similar to that of FIG. 2 showing an alternative embodiment, - Fig. 5 is a perspective view with cutaway of a portion of the rim of FIG. 4
Referring to the drawing, the rim is formed by a tubular metal profile whose internal faces of the two walls !. and 2 are tangent on a surface large enough to allow the installation of spokes including nuts 4 (figs.

   3 and 5) will come to rest on the visible face of the wall and is to say on the face of the rim in direct contact either with the 'air chamber in the case of a rim with removable tire freezes * 2 and 3) either with a tubular or a solid tire (figs.4 and. 5).

   Thanks to this disposition, the spokes are no longer exerted on the sole lower wall I of the tubular profile as happens with known rims, but this traction takes place at the same time on the rear walls. @ re and lower of said profile .. 11 as a result that the tension of the spokes can be increased without running the risk of seeing the nipples of these spokes tear 'the paoi of the rim and render,' consequently the latter unusable *.

   In order to allow the rim to be closed by an internal sleeve, which constitutes the most resistant assembly, it suffices to provide, in each of the two ends of the tabular profile to be assembled, a housing 3.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   The latter is obtained: by taking off using a stamping tool the two faces of the walls 1 and 2 in contact over a certain distance. The shape of the tool adopted may form said housing 3 ,. one deforming slightly either the wall 2 upwards (case of figs.I, 2 and 3) or 'the wall! down (case of figs 4 and?). The two housings 3-thus formed in the ends of the tubular profile are, once the rim is finished, filled by the assembly sleeve.

   Note that in the drawing the dimensions, of the housings 3 have been exaggerated for the sake of clarity
The rim described can be made of any light alloy, of steel or of any other metal as well as of a folded and connected cover. Any type of tubular profile can also be used provided that the internal faces of the two walls of said profile do not touch without any daylight on a sufficiently large area, as has been said.

   While allowing better traction of the spokes, the rim described in no way reduces the: robustness of the sleeve assembly, the thickness of the latter remaining of the order of those commonly used with tabular profiles hollow in which the spoke nuts only pull on the lower wall of said profiles. The invention therefore makes it possible to manufacture rims that are more robust and have a longer life than the rims currently known.

   It goes without saying that the rim has been described and shown for purely explanatory purposes, in no way limiting and that various modifications of detail could be made to the embodiment indicated without departing from the scope for this. field of the invention.

   This is so, by

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 example, that housing 3- to. place to be achieved - by stamping could be obtained. 9 by tubular profile walls or otherwise
