Quelques exemples serviront à présent à illustrer davantage l'invention.
EXEMPLE 1.
EMI3.4

REVENDICATIONS.

in which R, R 'and R "have the meanings indicated above, R" denotes bromine or chlorine and R "" denotes hydrogen or a carboxyl radical, by heating to the boiling point in the presence of a solution of potassium carbonate with a concentration greater than 10%, so as to obtain a trisubstituted 1,2,3 pyrazolone aldehyde of formula:
EMI2.2
According to an advantageous feature of the invention, the potassium carbonate solution is a cold saturated solution of the latter compound.
EMI2.3
As 1, 2, 3 trisubstituted-4 (> to, / 3, / 3 trihalogeno -, 4 - RI "'oxyethyl) -5-pyrazolone, one can employ, in particular, 1-phënyi.-û, 3 -d.mëtlyi.4 (al, 1 trichloro (or trâbromo) - -oxy-ethyl) -5-pyrazolone. the latter compound can be esterified with acetic anhydride to give 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl- 4 (ss, ss, ss trichloro (or tribromo) -Ó-acetoxyethyl) -5-pyrazolone.
EMI2.4
In the case of 1, -pheny .-, 3-d.nêtly .-. (/ '' // trichloro- Ó-cxyethyl) -5-pyrazolone, the reaction for obtaining aldehyde can be schematized as follows:

by heating 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-5-pyrazolone with chloral hydrate according to the following scheme:
EMI3.3
According to the invention, it is also possible to react bromal hydrate or anhydrous bromal with a trisubstituted pyrazolone 1, 2, 3, so as to obtain respectively bromal-pyrazolone 1, 2, 3 trisubstituted or dehydrobromal condensation products. -pyrazolone 1, 2, 3 trisubstituted.
Some examples will now serve to further illustrate the invention.
EXAMPLE 1.
EMI3.4
100 g of 1-phenyl-u, 3-dimethyl-4 (i, /, / trichloro- -oxy-ethyl) -5-pyrazolone are slowly introduced into 260 cm3 of a cold saturated solution of potassium carbonate, the solution is brought to the boil (100-105) and the reaction mixture is vigorously stirred. The powder introduced turns yellow at the same time as a strong evolution of chloroform is noted, little by little this powder becomes oily and collects at the top of the reaction vessel. Stirring is continued until the release of chloroform (approximately 5 to 6 hours). the heating is then stopped while continuing the stirring. The product formed is in the form of a lumpy mass, which
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
is wrung out, washed with very little ice water and finally dried.
The gross yield is 60 grams, or about 95% of the theoretical yield.
EMI4.1
The 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl -.- aldehyde-5-pyrazolone obtained is purified by recrystallizations from dioxane and from a mixture of equal parts by volume of ethyl alcohol and ethyl acetate. It is in the form of yellow flakes melting at approximately 160 ° C. and soluble in water, alcohol, dioxane and ethyl acetate. It is sparingly soluble in chloroform, ether and benzene.
The aforementioned aldehyde oxime melts at 2200 C, while the phenylhydrazone melts at 255 C.
EXAMPLE 2.
EMI4.2
10 gr. of .phêxyl-, 5 â.mâthyl- / m / m / 3 trichloro - = - aoetoxyethyl) -5-pyrazolone are introduced slowly, as in Example 1, into 25 cm3 of a cold saturated solution of carbonate. potassium. the procedure is as in Example 1 and, after recrystallization, 3 grams of aldehyde are obtained.
EXAMPLE 3 The operation is carried out as in Example 1 using 1-phenomenon.
EMI4.3
ryl-2,5-dim.thyl-9: (t3 m3 m, 3 tribromo- -oxyethyl) -5-pyrazolone. Instead of chloroform, it is given off bromoform.
EXAMPLE 4.
EMI4.4
to prepare 1-phenyl- ±, 3-dimethyl-4 (/ 3,5,, 3 tribrorn.o- -oxyethylp) -5-py.'aolor, anhydrous bromal is reacted in molecular proportions with 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-5-pyrazolone, by heating at 50 C for 1 to 2 hours. the residue is taken up in ethyl alcohol and purified by crystallization from ethyl alcohol.
It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the examples indicated above and that modifications can be made to the procedures described, provided that these modifications are not in contradiction with either one or the other.

of the following claims.
Instead of potassium carbonate, a mixture of potassium carbonate and caustic potash can be used. Thus, the decomposition reaction of the 1, 2, 3 trisubstituted -4- (ss, ss, ss trihalo-Ó-R "" oxyethyl) -5-pyrazolone can be carried out using a saturated solution of a mixture of 10% KOH and 90% CO3K2 in a water bath at 80 C. The presence of KOH accelerates the reaction rate, one can also use caustic potassium hydroxide alone (for example, 10% solution), but the product obtained is not pure and the yield is less good than in the case of potassium carbonate alone.
