Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 porte.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

  Prefabricated building element
In construction, the use of prefabricated elements of the most varied forms is generally known. But all the prefabricated elements that existed so far had drawbacks. By their complicated shapes, they made it expensive to manufacture; by their large size and the resulting weight, they were difficult to handle; to build the corners special and almost always more complicated elements were needed; when it was a question of constructions where each element formed part of only one wall, the solidity was hampered by the lack of apparatus of the transverse connections.

   The same drawbacks have hitherto existed with regard to fixing windows and doors, etc. to the walls. In construction, window or door frames as well as, where applicable, shutter hinges, were hitherto generally fixed in window or door openings in such a way that in the inner face of bay windows, cavities

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 were to be fitted out in which we cemented hooks, bolts or sealing brackets which were to hold the frame of the window or the door and that, in other cavities in the exterior face, we cemented the hinges for the flaps.

   This system, which required the site to fine-tune the frames and a delicate work, had the further disadvantage that often the distances of the holes in the frames of dressed stone or other materials did not correspond to the distances of the hinges mounted on the frames. flaps, which made adjustment very difficult. Apart from that, it was usually necessary to cover the doorway with wood, which increased the cost of construction.

   The present invention avoids all these drawbacks and increases the speed of construction by targeting a prefabricated building element, the method of its use, the method for fixing windows and doors and a wall constructed according to these methods and with this method. prefabricated element.

   The prefabricated construction element is characterized by the fact that it has the shape of an angle, respectively of an L.

  The outer lengths of the two legs, including a mortar joint for each, are proportioned so that the length of the long leg is a multiple of the length of the short leg; the proportion is preferably from 1 to 2. The elements forming the openings of windows, doors, etc., while retaining the initial form of an angle (L), have short branches specially designed for this purpose.

   The construction method employing prefabricated elements according to the present invention is characterized by the fact that these elements are arranged so that. the long branches form the walls, while the short branches, serving as spacers, are between the two walls. For the corners,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 exceptionally, the short branch is also part of the outer wall.

   The prefabricated elements are further put in such a way, that the outer and inner vertical joints of the superimposed layers are laterally displaced, with respect to each other, that they do not touch each other anywhere, thus ensuring the perfect device of construction.

   To increase the thermal insulation of the building, prefabricated elements are favorably used which are made of different materials as to the outer and inner walls.

  Thus, the elements forming the outer walls are made for example of concrete, while the elements for the inner walls are made for example of pumice, so that the placing of an insulating layer becomes superfluous.

   The fastening process for windows and doors and a construction carried out according to this process are characterized by the fact that the window or door openings are provided with holes through which bolts are passed which hold the window frames. This frame also includes the hinges of the shutters and preferably prepared entirely in the workshop, is applied to one of the two faces of the opening for windows or doors. The window or door openings are designed so that they form rebates into which the frame sinks. The lintel and / or the window sill are also provided with rebates corresponding to the rebates of the openings and which allow the frame to fit perfectly from at least three sides to the window opening or to the door.

   The bolts intended to tighten the frame against the rebate preferably have the shape of a hook, the curved part of which fits either into grooves or into notches preferably provided in the side faces of the frame uprights of the window or of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 door. The bolts can be replaced by any other device enabling the frame to be clamped against the rebates of the window opening or the door.

   In the two accompanying drawings are shown by way of example: several embodiments of prefabricated building elements, one embodiment of a window according to the method for fixing windows and doors, where the window openings are formed by prefabricated elements.

   Fig. 1 is a plan view of a pre-fabricated building element, the branches of which are in the proportion of 1 to 2, and which is placed between other elements shown in broken lines; side lines and the indications a, respectively 2a, designate how to measure the two branches in order to determine the proportion.

   Fig. 2 shows in horizontal section the construction of two walls forming an angle.

   Figs. 3 and 4 are horizontal sections of openings with four different embodiments of the prefabricated elements forming the window and door openings.

   Fig. 5 isometrically depicts a wall with the top layer raised. Thus it is clearly seen how all the vertical joints are moved laterally and how the perfect fit between the various layers (seats) is ensured.

   Fig. 6 is a horizontal section of the window and the bays and
Fig. 7 shows a vertical section of the window with the lintel and the sill.

   1 are the long branches and 2 the short branches of the prefabricated concrete elements, while the and 2 'are the respective branches of the elements made of insulating material, for example of pumice. 3, 4, 5 and 6 represent the different embodiments of the elements forming the window and door openings,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 and 7 and 7 is the window sill, 8 indicates the vertical joints and 9 the interior vertical joints of the walls.

   10 and 10 'are two elements forming the window opening, while 1 and 1 are two more added to it. It is the window frame which carries on its interior face the hinges 12 and 12 'for the two leaves 13 and 13 of the window with the panes 14 and 14'. From the outside the hinges 15 and 15 'carrying the shutters 16 and 16' are screwed into the frame 11. Vertical strips 17 and 17 'as well as 18 and 18' cover the joints between the frame 11 and the elements 10 , 10 'and 1 forming the bay of the window. The bolts 19 and 19 'are passed through the holes 20 and 20' of the elements 10 and 10 'and tighten with their ends 21 and 21' in the form of a hook the frame 11 against the elements 10 and 10 'using nuts 22 and 22 '. 7 is the window sill and 23 is the window lintel.

   Horizontal strips 24, 25 and 25 'cover the joints between the frame 11 and the sill 7 or else the lintel 23 of the window.

   A wall erected according to the construction method and with the prefabricated elements according to the present invention is built faster than any other massive construction known heretofore, although the strength remains equal and is sometimes greater. By the fact that it is possible to use elements made of different materials, the need to provide insulating layers is also avoided,
The method according to the present invention makes it possible to make the windows or doors completely complete with frame, leaves and shutters, in the workshop, and to assemble them quickly on the site by simply screwing the nuts onto the bolts, whatever the size. unevenness which may occur in the distances between the holes provided in the window or door openings,

   this process applies to all kinds of constructions where the openings

 Window or door coverings can be made, for example, from freestone, brick, concrete or prefabricated elements.
