 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  AGITATOR DEVICE FOR LESSIVING MACHINES.

The invention relates to a stirring device for washing machines such as, for example, household machines or for laundries and laundries, with mechanical or electrical control and the like.

In the known machines of this kind, various agitating organs have already been proposed, for example organs in the form of cones or bells which are driven either by a vertical, rectilinear and reciprocating movement in order to achieve a threshing action. of the laundry, either with an alternating rotational movement or a combination of these two movements.

It has also already been proposed to furnish conical stirrers of this type with members of flexible material, in particular members in the form of fingers or channels mounted on the upper surface of conical stirrers, below the laundry to be washed.

In the known machines of this type, the various designs proposed do not achieve a sufficiently effective washing, nor in a reasonable time, without premature deterioration of the laundry or of the parts of the agitator.

According to the present invention, provision is made to remedy these drawbacks by a stirrer device and especially by members integral with this stirrer and of a new construction and design.

For this purpose, according to the invention, the actual agitator is constituted by a tripod, the substantially vertical feet of which are immersed in the receptacle of the washing machine which contains the laundry to be washed. This tripod is, for example, formed by three feet 1200 from each other, the whole of the agitator forming a whole capable of being put into continuous or reciprocating rotation.

In addition, the feet of the agitator are, over a part, of their height, at the upper part, formed by prolonged rigid rods

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

towards the bottom of the washing machine tank, by flexible rods and these flexible rods themselves carry at their base, flexible members which are present near the bottom of said tank.

According to a feature of the invention, said flexible members are formed in various ways, that is to say at the base of a foot by a small rake with flexible teeth, at the base of the second foot by lateral fins and at the base of the third leg a small tripod made up of a flexible disc carrying three equally flexible fingers.

According to a particular feature of the invention, said flexible members or a part of them, are mounted so as to be able to rotate freely around the longitudinal axis of the foot which carries it.

Other details and features will become apparent from the description of the appended drawings given by way of explanation and not by way of limitation.

The same elements are designated in the various figures by the same reference numerals.

Fig. 1 is a schematic elevational view showing a weeder tank provided with a stirring device according to the invention.

Fig. 2 is a plan view of the agitator itself and the
Figs. 3, 4 and 5 relate to the various flexible members according to the invention and carried by the feet of the agitator.
The washing machine consists of a tub or receptacle 2 into which are introduced the laundry to be treated and the washing liquid. This container is, for example, cylindrical and provided at its center with a fixed shaft or column 3. At its upper part, this column carries a stirrer 4 consisting of a star-shaped plate with three branches 5, 6. and 7 (Fig. 2).

Each branch carries a foot 8, 9 and 10, so that the whole of the agitator and arm constitutes a tripod. This tripod is mounted on the column 3 so that it can be controlled in rotation around the vertical axis of the column, for example by the gear 11.

Each of the arms 8, 9 and 10 is formed, in the vertical direction from top to bottom, by two parts, namely first a metal tube or rod. rigid 8 ', 9 or 10' and, then, a tube or rod of flexible material, such as rubber 8 "9" or 10 ". The flexible rods 8", 9 "and 10" are integral with the rigid rods 8 ', 9' and 10 '. Said flexible rods carry at their end flexible members which, according to a feature of the invention, are different for each of the three rods 8 ", 9", 10 "
At the base of the foot 8 is mounted a small rake consisting of a rectangular plate 12 with small teeth 13 (Figs. 1, 2 and 3) ..., 'The foot 9 carries at its base a flexible member consisting of three panels. the 14 to about 120 of each other.

Finally, the foot 10 carries at its base a small tripod 'preferably consisting of a disc 15 and three small feet 16, all in flexible material. Preferably as specified, the three flexible members at the base, legs 8, 9 and 10, are different, so that the agitator thus formed provides the maximum benefit. However, it is possible to make two or even three identical flexible members and one or the other of the flexible members shown and described. In addition, the constitution of the lower part ", 9" or ion of flexible material ensures the most satisfactory operation and efficiency of washing machines provided with a stirrer in accordance with the invention.

It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the example described and shown and that many modifications can be made to the number, to the type, to the dimensions and to the constitution of the elements involved in its realization, without for this is outside the scope of the invention.
