EYELETS FOR CORSETS AND LACING BELTS.
The present invention relates to the eyelets with which ¯on provides, for passing laces, corsets and lace-up belts.
The riveted tubular eyelets, usually used, have the disadvantage of weakening the fabric of the corset, which must be pierced to place them. In addition, they separate the corset, and the laces passed through these eyelets form a relief that is unsightly marked under the right clothes.
These drawbacks are avoided, according to the invention, by using for lacing corsets and belts, eyelets in the form of a flat loop, which are fixed to the edges of the parts to be laced up of the corset, in the plane of the fabric from which they are made. these parts.
The accompanying drawing shows by way of example how the invention can be implemented.
Fig. 1 shows in perspective a corset eyelet according to 1-'invention, and
Fig. 2 is a partial view of the interior side of a corset provided with eyelets similar to that of FIG. 1.
In the form of a flat loop, the eyelet 1 has at the front an opening 2, preferably curved, for the passage of a lace 3, and at the rear a more elongated opening 4, through which passes a tape 5 serving to fix the eyelet 1 to the fabric 6 of the corset and sewn to the edge of the latter so that the eyelet is in the plane of the fabric 6.
The eyelet 1 can be very thin, so that its thickness, increased by that of the lace passed through its opening 2; does not exceed or hardly ') thickness of the fabric 6 and that the lacing does not form any apparent relief. In addition, fabric tabs 7 can be provided on the outside face of the corset to hide the eyelets 1 and possibly the laces 3.
Some eyelets 1a can be double, that is to say they have two contiguous openings 2a allowing passage through the eye.

let two laces where the lacing needs to be reinforced, as indicated at the bottom of Figa 2.
The attachment of the eyelets to the corset by loops of ribbon 5 sewn between two layers of fabric 6 is very strong and keeps the fabric completely intact.
Of course, the eyelets could be fixed other than by ribbons, for example sew them directly to the fabric, or even make other modifications without departing from the invention.
