   CHARIOT POUR LE TRANSPORT :DE PRODUITS EN CAISSES OU AUTRES EMBALLAGES
RIGIDES.

Figure 1 est une vue arrière verticale du chariot dressé;

   Figure 3 est une vue partielle correspondante à Fig. 1, les or- ganes de préhension écartés   l'un   de 1-'autre par le coulisseau ;
Figure 4 est une vue partielle semblable à la Fig. 3, mais prise de l'avant;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   TRANSPORT TROLLEY: OF PRODUCTS IN CASES OR OTHER PACKAGING
RIGID.

   The present invention relates to a manually operated trolley intended for the transport of fruit, vegetable, etc. products, groups in crates or other rigid packaging capable of stacking,
The trolley according to the invention differs essentially in that it is provided with gripping members arranged laterally at its base so as to come into contact with the ground in the loading or unloading position, means being provided for moving said gripping members apart and bringing them closer to one another at will.

   According to an advantageous form of construction, the carriage comprises a tubular frame on which can be moved under an appropriate control, such as a foot pedal, a V-shaped slide, the inclined walls of which are in constant contact. under the action of springs with arms articulated on the frame and carrying the actual gripping members at one of their ends.

   The drawing appended to this specification shows, solely by way of example, a carriage, in accordance with the invention and constructed according to the latter type. In this drawing:
Figure 1 is a vertical rear view of the upright cart;
Figure 2 is a corresponding pre-thread view, with a partial section through the anterior gripper.

   Figure 3 is a partial view corresponding to FIG. 1, the gripping members separated from one another by the slider;
Figure 4 is a partial view similar to FIG. 3, but taken from the front;

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the carriage essentially comprises a tubular frame 1 reinforced by braces 2 and by a parallel frame 3 provided with cross members 4. At one of its ends, the frame 1 carries two plates 5 perpendicularly. arranged to serve as bearings for the axis 6 of the wheels 7 provided with a rubber tire or the like.

   In its lower part, that is to say on the side of the undercarriage, the frame 1 is provided with two U-shaped slides 8 directed parallel to the long sides of the frame and in which the lateral edges of the frame can slide. a plate 9 carrying towards the rear a V-shaped box 10. A pedal 11 protrudes from this box.

     On the other hand, on the frame 1 is supported on each side an arm 12, of rectangular section, mounted at its ends on the ends of shafts 13 capable of sliding in tubes 14 welded to the frame 1. En- being the shaft ends 13, each arm 12 is still supported by shaft ends 15 sliding in tubes 16 of the frame, but projecting inwardly beyond these tubes 16, so as to come constantly in contact with the side faces of the VIO box under the action of return springs 17 stretched between the upper and lower ends of the arms 12.

   Finally, the arms 12 bent square at their lower end form a support for a respective angle bar 18 directed inwards over only part of the length of this support, for the purpose which will be indicated hereinafter.

   A stack of boxes such as that shown in FIG. 5 and 6 having to be moved, the cart is brought close to the stack in order to stand it up as can be seen in FIG. 2. In this position, the arms 12 are brought closer to the side members of the frame 1. By acting on the pedal 11, the loader worker moves the arms 12 away from each other so as to be able to move the carriage forward. the horizontal supports will be placed on the ground on either side of the boxes, so that the angles 18 can be easily inserted under the lower box between the two end cross members thereof, when 19worker has released the pedal.

   The stack of boxes thus resting on the angles, it will therefore be easy to pivot the frame 1 around the axis of the wheels to lift the stack and transport it to the desired location (fig. 5 and 6).

   It is understood that the construction in itself of the frame 1 may vary, depending on the circumstances, in its dimensions and its sections, likewise the mode of actuation of the arms 12 carrying the gripping members 18 could be modified.
