  DISPOSITIF MARGEUR A VA--ET-VIENT.

   La présente invention est relative à un dispositif margeur à va- et-vient pour machines à imprimer à platen particulier pour machines off- set, dans lesquelles le margeur qui est muni de galets, de butées et d'organes analogues et peut coulisser sur une pièce de guidage disposée transversalement par rapport à la direction de déplacement de la feuille de papier, est poussé périodiquement contre une barre de traction disposée en dessous du margeur et assurant le mouvement de traction;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  TWO - AND - BACK MARGIN DEVICE.

   The present invention relates to a reciprocating feeder device for flatbed printing machines, in particular for off-set machines, in which the feeder which is provided with rollers, stops and the like and can slide on a guide piece arranged transversely to the direction of movement of the sheet of paper, is periodically pushed against a draw bar disposed below the feeder and ensuring the traction movement;

  , and this in order to obtain the alignment of the sheet of paper fed to the machine It is only at the cost of a great loss of time and of inconvenient handling that it is possible to clean the feeder body in the flat printing, in particular in offset machines, which, by means of one or more rollers and an adjustable fixed stopper, operate above the paper and in which the feeder body carrying the rollers and the stopper rest so as to be able to slide on a shaft arranged transversely to the direction of movement of the paper and is raised and lowered thanks to the rotation of this shaft, as in feeders of the type in which the feeder body rests on a bar which causes the raising and lowering movement ,,

   the same, finally, as for the feeder used previously, and the fact that the positioning of the rollers on the bar ensuring the pulling movement is done below the sheet to be aligned.

     . The operation of the machine requires that the slides which carry the rollers and which are driven by delicate springs adjustable in position, are not in any way hampered in their movement by paper dust or other foreign bodies. Likewise, the stops sliding without play in the feeder must be protected against any contamination. It follows that it is very often essential to clean these parts.

   The lack of accessibility of the prior embodiment of this

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 Kind is that on the one hand, the most precise and at the same time the most economical way to achieve sliding movement and clamping is to use a shaft or a bar of circular section; on the other hand, it is then no longer possible to remove the parts from the point where they are located.

   According to the present invention, the part of the feeder carrying the rollers, stops and the like is placed with a certain clearance on a clamping device capable of sliding on a guide part. Preferably, the sliding movement of the feeder portion on the clamping device can take place in the direction of the guide piece and its play is obtained by the clamping device by sliding in the direction of the guide piece.

   According to the invention, the aforementioned part of the feeder envelops the clamping device, preferably in a cylindrical region of the latter and has a recess opening outwards, which recess, after the aforementioned part of the feeder has been released from the clamping device, in turn releases this part of the feeder from the guide piece.

   An embodiment of the invention has been described below by way of nonlimiting example and with reference to the appended drawing.
In this drawing, figure 1 shows the feeder device in front of the printing cylinder; Figure 2 shows the feeder device with the actual feeder resting on the clamping device; Figure 3 shows the feeder seen from the side; FIG. 4 shows the feeder released from the clamping device, and FIG. 5 is a side view similar to FIG. 3 showing the recess a1 through which the feeder can be released from the guide member, namely the bar e.

   As can be seen from FIG. 1, the sheet of paper located above the stack St is lifted by the vacuum cleaners and brought to the front feeder r. After this operation, the vacuum cleaners are brought back to the rear. Under the action of the cam k, the feeder body a is lowered so that the roller f presses the sheet against the bar ensuring the pulling movement.

   The sheet is driven by the bar until it comes into contact with its edge against the stop d of the feeder. It remains there until it is gripped by the claws of the cylinder, which are not shown. In order that the sheet can be easily pulled by the claws of the cylinder, the feeder is lifted from the sheet by the upward movement of the bar or other guide part e.

   In Figure 3 the feeder device is shown seen from the side.

  The feeder body a carries the active elements of the feeder, namely the roller f as well as the stops d and the corresponding springs. This feeder body a is supported on a clamping device b as seen in Figures 2 and 3. The clamping device comprises a cylindrical part; on the one hand, it can slide on a guide piece, such as the bar c, and on the other hand, by means of the screw h, it can be immobilized in any desired position of the guide piece e that can be raise or lower. The feeder body a surrounds the cylindrical part of the clamping device, as seen in figure 3.

   A screw g of the clamping device b is screwed into the feeder body .5 !: and, by turning the screw g, the position of the feeder body a in relation to the clamping device can be precisely adjusted. This clamping device b also makes it possible to roughly adjust the position on the guide part e by sliding the entire clamping device and immobilizing it by the screw h, however also allowing a more precise adjustment in position of the body of the clamping device. feeder a by means of screw g.

   As seen in Figures 4 and 5, we can withdraw towards the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 bottom, the feeder body a out of the clamp b. The feeder body has a recess a1 dimensioned such that the guide piece e passes exactly into this recess. By axially sliding the feeder body a, the latter therefore leaves its position of bearing on the clamping b and, by the slot or recess a1 it can easily be lifted from the position it occupies to bring it to each location of the guide piece whose force is less.

   The feeder itself, with its delicate parts which must be kept clean, can also be easily removed from the guide piece and washed in a liquid which dissolves grease Se The feeder body is replaced with the same simplicity.
