<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
D'autres particularités et avantages de l'invention ressorti- ront de la description plus détaillée qui va suivre d'un mode d'exécution préféré d'une réalisation de l'invention, donné à titre d'exemple, et illus- tré d'une façon plus ou moins schématique par le dessin annexé, sur le- quel ;
Fig. 1 est une vue partielle en élévation et coupe axiale d'une sole doseuse selon l'invention;
Fig. 2 est une vue en plan correspondante,montrant également l'agencement du dispositif moteur de commande;
En dessous et à quelque distance du bord inférieur 4 de la portion 2 est disposé un plateau ou sole 5, monté pour tourner autour de l'axe vertical X-X., et dans ce but monu d'un arbre central 6 engagé dans un palier 7 agencé dans un soubassement 8. L'arbre 6 pourrait servir à lui seul à supporter et entraîner le plateau 5;
On a prévu (fig.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

IMPROVEMENTS FOR DOSE SOILS-
The invention relates to metering soles, in which a fragmented material, in particular more or less finely divided, contained in a hopper, comes to rest on a plate driven in continuous rotation to rotate with it and is brought from this plate to a appropriate transport member, in measured quantities, by a fixed knife, engaged more or less deeply in the mass resting on the plate, in the direction of the axis of rotation of the latter.
When the treated materials are essentially loose, and in particular dry, the metering soles of the above type operate in a satisfactory manner; this is no longer the case if the said materials are wet, or sticky, because in this case, either they adhere to the walls of the hopper and are immobilized in relation to them so that the plate turns without driving materials and that no distribution of these takes place., or the said materials immobilize relative to the knife with the same result of stopping the distribution, said immobilizations can be intermittent., temporary. and more or less complete only, but in any case resulting in disturbances in operation.
The object of the invention is to avoid these drawbacks, if not to significantly improve the operation of said metering soles.
According to one characteristic of the invention, the hopper, or at least a portion of the height thereof, in particular its lower portion, is made movable and positively driven in rotation around the axis of rotation of the turntable of material support.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the hopper, or the movable portion thereof, is driven in rotation by the means for controlling the rotation of the support plate, in particular by 7, the support or drive shaft of it.
According to yet another characteristic of the invention, the movable hopper or the movable portion thereof comprises members penetrating into the materials contained therein, in order to carry them with it, these members being able to
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
serve as a means of support and, or training.
Thanks to these arrangements, the entrainment of materials with the plate is ensured and an uninterrupted flow of materials which is regular, if not largely regularized, is obtained.
Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the more detailed description which follows of a preferred embodiment of an embodiment of the invention, given by way of example, and illustrated by 'more or less schematically by the accompanying drawing, in which;
Fig. 1 is a partial elevational view and axial section of a metering sole according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a corresponding plan view, also showing the arrangement of the drive motor device;
Fig. 3 shows in elevation and cross section a detail of the arrangement.
With reference to the drawing, 1 denotes a hopper, the upper portion of which is fixed and established in any suitable manner, for example in the form of a concrete structure, and the lower portion 2 is, according to the invention, made mobile and capable of rotating around the vertical axis XX.
This portion 2 can be established in any suitable manner, preferably in the form of a metal construction of suitable parts assembled together by methods known in the art.
The walls 3 of the portion 2 are preferably flared downwards, which facilitates the descent of the materials and releases or reduces their compactness.
Below and at some distance from the lower edge 4 of the portion 2 is arranged a plate or sole 5, mounted to rotate around the vertical axis XX., And for this purpose monu a central shaft 6 engaged in a bearing 7 arranged in a base 8. The shaft 6 could serve on its own to support and drive the plate 5;
however, it is preferable, in particular for large plates, to also support the plate concentrically at a location intermediate its radial development, for example by rollers mounted between the plate and an underlying support ring. , as shown in 9. The train-. ment of the rotating plate 5 can also be obtained advantageously by means of a plunging rim 10 of the underside of the plate 5, provided on the outside with a toothing 11 with which a pinion or worm 12 integral with it engages. a tree 13.
The rotational drive of the shaft 13 can be provided in any suitable manner, for example by an electric motor 14 with the interposition of a speed reducer 15.
The tray 5 protrudes outwardly by a certain amount from the periphery of the lower edge of the portion 2, and at or towards its own periphery a guard can be provided to prevent the overflow of materials. This guard may, as has been shown, comprise a fixed frame 16, almost completely surrounding the plate-5, and equipped below with flexible elements 17 suspended therein so as to make contact with the marginal portion of the plate.
In a suitable sector of the plate 5, to which corresponds an interruption of the aforementioned guard, is mounted a knife 18, arranged to move while approaching or deviating from the X-X axis. For this purpose any desired mechanism can be employed. There is provided (fig. 2) a support 19 on which is fixed a bracket 20 provided with a pivot 21 on which can oscillate the knife 18, and another bracket 22 shaped as a yoke receiving the journals of a bearing 23. in which can rotate., without axial displacement, a threaded shaft 24 carrying a slide 25 pivotally retained
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
in an arm 26 extending beyond its pivot 21 the knife 18.
A handwheel, or the equivalent, 27, allows the shaft 24 to be rotated thereby moving the knife 18. The knife 18 is preferably provided with a downwardly inclined end edge and the X-X axis.
A conveyor generally designated by 27a is associated with said sector, which is that of unloading the plate 5, and receives the materials taken from the plate 5 by the knife 18.
In order to support and drive the portion 2 of the tank, a central column 28 is placed on the plate 5, which may be hollow, and to which a shape preferably flared downwards, and terminating at the top with a cone. more or less open, said column itself supporting a cross member 29 whose arms are fixed to the walls 3 at their outer ends.
The arms of the spider 29 preferably receive, as shown in Figure 3, a benefit which allows or facilitates the collapse of the materials, for example an L-profile and are arranged with one wing horizontal, and the other plunging and located forward in the direction of movement; an oblique wall 30 can be provided as a reinforcing element between the remote edges of the L-profile.
It can be observed that if, for some reason, the materials occupying the internal space of the portion 2 showed a tendency to cease being entrained or to slow down their movement, the action of the arms would be to counteract this tendency and if not to loosen the said materials, which would lead to an equivalent result from the point of view of the operation of the dosing sole, that is to say to a correct entrainment with the plate 5 when the said materials reach this plateau .
It can also be observed that the flaring towards the bottom of the column 28 has among other things the effect of moving the materials more or less towards the walls 3 of the portion 2, thus facilitating the entrainment of said materials by this portion. , and, in the evacuation zone, to push them outwards, facilitating their passage on the conveyor.
It will be understood, without the need for further explanation, that the materials coming from the fixed portion of the hopper pass into the internal space of the movable portion 2 and are then, by the action of the latter and, or arms of the spider 29, driven in any case in rotation with the support plate 5, the knife 18 acting to take material from the rotating mass, in correspondence with its adjustment position, and pass them over the transporter 27a.
Preferably, the knife 18 is engaged more or less deeply in the materials, the flow rate being adjusted then by acting on the speed of rotation of the apparatus.
As has already been suggested, it should be understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiment more particularly described and shown, nor to its details of execution, but on the contrary encompasses the other embodiments. and variants based on the same principles. It is thus, in particular., That inwardly directed members attached to the walls 3 could replace or amplify the action of the arms of the spider 29 on the materials and that the portion 2 could be drawn in. rotation independently of the plate 5 and at a speed different from the latter.
