PROCEDE DE FABRICATION D'UNE TUBULURE SUR CINTREo

PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A TUBING ON CINTREo
In his main patent application, the Applicant has described a process for manufacturing a tubing on a hanger, the essential feature of which resides in that all of the operations leading to obtaining the tubing only include compressions of metal.
In one embodiment, the Applicant has described the sequence of operations comprising first a flattening by compression of the top of the hanger, the provision of a slot in the compressed region, then finally, the lateral compression of the hanger in the area treated to cause the slit to open.
The object of the present addition is to clarify that the first operation of flattening the hanger may, in certain cases, not be essential, and one can then be satisfied with making a slot in the region where one wishes to obtain the tubing, then, after heating, in compressing on either side this region between two dies, the contour of which is judiciously chosen, as in the main patent, while the arms of the hanger are kept immobile, or substantially immobile. This causes the opening of the slot and the shaping of the metal in the treated region to finally produce the tubing, which can then be calibrated using a punch for example, to receive its final shape.
The present addition also provides that instead of providing a single longitudinal slit in the treated region, a second slit is made therein, crosswise with the first and of shorter length, which, in particular, facilitates the distribution of the metal towards the ends of the first slot, during the shaping of the tubing.
