Description

   LIGHT PROJECTION UNIT.

The present invention relates to a light projection apparatus, for example, of the type used in cinematography, and comprising a usual closed support foot or base supporting the projection lantern, the projection mechanism and its normal accessories.

The present invention relates to a notable improvement in the construction of such apparatus.

Indeed, according to the invention. said support foot or base internally comprises the entire system for supplying electric current to the projection arcs, either the current rectifier, or possibly the current transformer, such that the projection lantern, the projection mechanism and the power supply system become one whole.

Such an embodiment, which has never been envisaged until now, offers multiple advantages. It obviously allows the elimination of electrical conduits (tubes and cables) between rectifier and projection device, and, by the same fact, elimination of line losses, which is very interesting, in the case of the very low voltages currently used. This elimination of pipes also greatly reduces the dangers of fire, mainly due to the very high intensities of direct current. In addition, the stability of the arc is significantly increased.

The construction will obviously be simpler, with automatic reduction in manufacturing costs and installation costs.

In the projection booths, the bulk of the various devices, thus forming a whole, will be less and, moreover, the occasions of disturbance will be reduced in this way; the rectifier could also be much better monitored, given its proximity to the operator.

Finally, it is quite obvious that the invention is not limited to the above details.
