The invention relates to conveyor belt drive devices with the motor shaft positioned parallel to the direction of transport. This arrangement is suitable for bottom conditions due to the small constructive width it entails, and requires angular control.
For this one. In most cases, a pair of bevel wheels is used which is arranged between the motor shaft and the straight gear reduction transmission of the belt drums. The invention consists of a casing of bevel wheels. substantially cylindrical. forming in itself a supporting constructive unit. enters the transmission housing through its narrowed portion surrounding the drive pinion .. in the direction of the shaft carrying the drive pinion and bevel gear. and is connected to this reduction transmission casing by a flange with sealing surfaces which can be diverted, arranged in the passage to the narrowed part.
It is advantageous then that the bevel wheel shaft carrying the control pinion is mounted by its two ends in the housing and that the latter has a notch for the entry into engagement of the right wheel which follows it, with the drive pinion. To tire the bevel gear shaft mount as little as possible, we have. according to another feature of the invention, given to the control pinion as well as to the right wheel which follows it. oblique toothing in a direction such that for the direction of rotation corresponding to transport, the axial component of the thrust of the oblique toothing takes up most of the axial sliding of the bevel wheel.
The drawing gives a schematic representation of an exemplary embodiment of the invention, in elevation in Figure 1 and in plan in Figure 2.
On a base frame 1 are mounted the drums 2 and 3. on one side in a bearing web 4. on the other side in the housing 5 of the reduction transmission. Wheels 6 and 7 mesh; one is driven by the pinion 8 on the shaft 9 of which is wedged a wheel 10 with oblique teeth. To the reduction gear casing 5 is applied in the manner of a flange the casing of the bevel gear transmission 11. In this is mounted in several bearings the bevel pinion shaft 12. at right angles to the axes of the gears. drums and parallel to the plane of the base frame.
The bevel gear 13 which is mounted at the end of this shaft engages with the bevel wheel 14, the shaft 15 of which is mounted at its two ends 16 and 17 in the housing 11 and carries, between these support points, in addition to the bevel wheel 14. the pinion 18 with oblique teeth which must engage with the wheel 10.
The part of the casing 11 which surrounds the pinion 18 penetrates into the casing 6 of the straight wheels and has a notch 19 for the passage of the toothed wheel 10. The toothed wheel shaft 9 is advantageously mounted in a joint 20 of the housing. 5. to be able to be mounted last ,. after fitting the bevel gear housing.
When the notch 19 of the bevel gear housing also continues in the front wall, the bevel gear housing can be fitted or removed even without dismantling the toothed wheel shaft 9. The motor 21 is connected by a coupling 22 to the shaft 12 of the bevel gear.
The inventive thought can be implemented when the motor is not disposed laterally next to the belt drums, as in the exemplary embodiment, but is in front of or behind them. that is to say under or between the paths of the strip.
