Dans la réalisation pratique de l'invention, le mouvement de coulissement des tringles de commande disposées parallèlement aux longerons est produit par des tiges filetées mises en rotation par des manivelles et agissant sur des écrous portés par les tringles de commande;

The present invention relates to metal beds and mainly to hospital or clinic beds, the base of which is formed of elements articulated between them.
One of the aims of the invention is to provide a control of simple design and easy handling which makes it possible to act on the various elements of the bed base in order to bring them individually into variable inclined positions.
With a view to achieving this aim, this control comprises these rods which are connected to the frame of the bed base by a link and lever mechanism, which extend parallel to the side members and can receive a sliding movement.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, the sliding movement of the control rods arranged parallel to the side members is produced by threaded rods rotated by cranks and acting on nuts carried by the control rods;
The invention also comprises a device intended to make it possible to lift the head or the foot of the bed from the ground in order to allow movement by means of rollers,
In the drawings, there is shown by way of nonlimiting example a bed produced in accordance with the invention and comprising each of the mechanisms although the field of the invention encompasses the case where only one of them is used.
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the entire bed. FIGS. 2 and 3 relate to the control of the inclination of the bed base elements.
Figures 4 and 5 relate to the device for lifting the head or the foot.
FIG. 6 is a schematic overview from the side.
In Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings, there is shown a bed comprising a box spring formed of articulated elements, one of these cnssis (reference 1) located on the side of the head, is pivotally mounted on the protruding supports. towards the naut on the side members j while on the side of the foot there are two frames 4-2 articulated together at 6, one of which is also pivotally mounted on the projections 2.
For the operation of the frame 1, there is provided a mechanism comprising a rod 7 (fig. 2) which can slide in a fixed tube 8 mounted parallel to one of the side members and which carries an operating nut receiving a threaded rod 10 s' extending inside the tube 8 and rotated by a crank 11.
At its end opposite the tube 8, the rod bends slightly upwards and carries an axis 12 on which are articulated two connecting rods 1 @ and 14 both pivotally mounted on a frame 15 which has a the hand can tilt around pins 16 carried by supports 17 projecting downwards on the side members j and which on the other hand is connected to the frame by rollers 18.
If we assume that the frame 1 and the various control members are in the position shown in solid lines in Figure 2 we see that if we act on the crank 11, the screw 10 will be rotated and cause through the nut y sliding the rod 7 in the direction of arrow F (fig.) so that the connecting rods 13-14 will act on the frame 1 to bring it into the position shown at 11 in figure 2. The elements 13-14-15 will respectively occupy the positions 131-141-151 (fig.2).

The inclination of the frame is adjustable and this frame can be held in different positions thanks to a frame 26 including a cross member.
