Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   The use of an electric ignition or firing machine in mines exposed to firedamp blasts or in mines infested with stray currents, entails the need to be able to have a greater number of fires. In series connections from detonators, an increase in the number of fires can only be obtained by using a high voltage and, in parallel connections, by having a high current intensity. Besides, anti-fog safety requires that the duration of a current impulse does not exceed four thousandths of a second.

   For this purpose, the power of the machine must reach approximately
1 kilowatt (1000 volts x 1 ampere) for 4 thousandths of a second.

   This supposes a cumbersome machine if we want to avoid the usual firing, from the high voltage network, with the dangers and disadvantages that it entails. But, since the proper dynamo-electric firing machines easily exceed a certain size for obtaining a higher current rating, or higher voltage, and since the manufacture of more powerful control springs for the The armature presents great difficulties and as springs of this kind can be stretched by hand only with difficulty, if at all, it has already been suggested to couple two or more individual firing machines designed to provide an intensity low current or voltage, such that their intensities and / or voltages,

   are added when firing.

   Due to the mechanical coupling of two or more complete exploders, this well-known installation constitutes, however, a heavy and complicated assembly.

   The object of the present invention is a firing machine comprising two or more armatures, with spring control, which can be subjected, for a limited time, to a high overload, is of relatively small dimensions and , therefore, easy to carry. The armatures have an extremely small external diameter, so that the flow of the machine is of the impulse type. With the aim of considerably reducing the weight and the bulk of such a firing machine, provided with two armatures actuated by spring, the present invention has provided for the latter only one firing mechanism. In addition, the armatures are coupled by a control pinion provided between the pinions with which the two control shafts which support the springs are provided.

   The present invention is explained in more detail below, with reference to the accompanying drawings, illustrating an exemplary embodiment and in which:
Fig. 1 is a partially schematic view of a firing machine according to the present invention and comprising two ignition dynamos.

   Fig. 2 and 3 are schematic views of these two ignition dynamos coupled in series and in parallel respectively
In FIG. 1, 1 and 2 indicate the control gears which drive, via the control pinions 3 and 4, the dynamos 5 and 6 respectively. The control gear 1 is connected to a ratchet wheel 7, in which the locking and unlocking pawl (not shown) engages, and it is further coupled to a control disc 8. On a sleeve 8a of the control disc 8, which surrounds the shaft 1a of the control gear 1, is arranged a second control element 9 in the form of a cam disc, freely rotated.

   The cam disc 9 has a concentric guide slot 9 ', which extends over 3/4 of its circumference.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 rence, in which slides a driving bolt 8b of the control disc 8. As a result, the cam disc 9 can be coupled in both directions by passing through an idle operation corresponding to the length of the slot 9 '.

  The inner end of the control tension spring 10 is fixedly connected to the free end of the sleeve of the control disc 8a, and its other end is held in the fixed spring housing, which is not shown in figure. drawing.

   The cam disc 9 comprises a base with two stop surfaces, on which is mounted, isolated a contact spring 9 "composed of three parts a, b, c, the different elements of which cooperate with the contact tracks 12, 13 , 14 provided on an insulating disc 15, arranged around the sleeve of the control disc 8a. The part of the spring a cooperates with a slip ring 12, part b with a contact track 13 and the part c. short, with a contact track 16a of an insulating disc 16 which is disposed between the cam disc 9 and the insulating disc 15 and which is coupled so as to drive the former.

   This contact track 16a comprises a contact spring 16b which cooperates with the short-circuit track 14 of the insulating disc 15.

   The drive pinion of the ignition dynamo 5 is driven in accordance with the present invention, both by the control gear 1, and by the control gear 2, which, for its part, is meshed with the pinion 4 of the ignition dynamo 6. In this way, when reassembling the springs, only one of the two traction springs 10 or 11 is loaded, under the effect of the rotation of the bushes 8 , 8a, which surround the shafts 1a, 2a, of the control gears 1 and 2, the second tension spring being charged at the same time through the intermediary of the drive pinion 3.

   Likewise, there is only one firing system after triggering of the tension springs 10 and 11, which operates as follows:
After triggering the tension spring 10, the cam disc 9 first remains stationary. It is only after a rotation of approximately 3/4 of a turn of the control disc 8, which turns clockwise, that the cam disc 9 is driven by the latter via the intermediate of its bolt 8b. After a further rotation of approximately 3/4 of a turn, the base of the cam disc 9, which supports the triple contact spring 9 ", comes into contact, via one of its abutment edges, with the insulating disc 16 and the 'drives in turn clockwise.

  During this operation, the spring element b of the triple contact spring 9 ", arranged so as to be isolated on the cam disc 9, slides on the latching contact track of the insulating disc 15 and closes, by the same time as 1 spring element which slides on the slip ring 12, the firing current circuit When this current has passed for about 4 thousandths of a second, the spring element b leaves the contact track 13. In the meantime , the contact spring 16b of the contact track 16a has reached the contact track this short-circuit 14 and it cuts, by short-circuiting the exploder, the ignition current circuit.

   Since the release of the tension spring 10 automatically triggers the release of the tension spring 11, the latter, via the control gear 2 and the pinion 4, actuates the dynamo 6, which results in the production of an ignition current o When the ignition current circuit is closed, as indicated above, the voltages and currents are added to the ignition currents produced by the dynamos 5 and 6.

   The electrical connections between the two DC ignition dynamos and compound excitation 5 and 6 and the two terminals 17 and 18 for the series ignition circuit 19 extend, on the one hand, from the brush

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 from the collector 20 of the ignition current dynamo 5, through the excitation winding 21, to the collector brush 22 of the ignition current dynamo 6 and, through the collector brush 23, the winding excitation 24 for the ignition dynamo 6 and a contact relay 25, to terminal 18; on the other hand, an electrical connection connects the collector brush 26 of the ignition dynamo 5 to the interlocking contact track 13 and the slip ring 12 to the terminal 17. The terminal 18 is connected to the contact track short-circuit 14 and, through the coil of the relay 25, to the latching contact track 13.
