 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

  "Cooking and broiling device."
The object of the invention is a cooking and grilling device which differs from devices of this kind existing on the market in that the heating elements are arranged in a circle around the space intended to receive the heaters. - baking or grilling pots in order to obtain as equal and uniform heating as possible of the materials, without having to turn them.

   The drawings show two embodiments, by way of example, of the device according to the invention. Figures 1 to 3 show the first embodiment and /

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 specifically, Figure 1 is a partial sectional view, Figure 2 a perspective view with the cover removed and Figure 3 a container for receiving materials to be cooked or grilled. Figures 4 and 5 schematically show the second embodiment and more specifically Figure 4 is a perspective view of the device and Figure 5 a side view.

   In Figures 1 to 3, 1 denotes the cylindrical casing, which consists for example of an aluminum sheet, which can be closed by a cover 2 and which has feet 3 on the underside. The heating elements are arranged along the inner wall of the casing. They consist of heating spirals 4, for example made of nickel-chromium wire, which are vertical, that is to say arranged in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the casing, and are surrounded, against any soiling, contact and damage, by refractory tubes 5, which conduct heat, eg quartzite.

  The casing 1 has, at the places where the heating elements are arranged, protrusions 6 which are smooth at the inner wall and are formed in such a way that iras concentrate, as reflectors, as much as possible all the rays. heat on the grilling material in the grilling space So that the smooth spaces are also well protected against soiling or oxidation, they are provided for this purpose with a protective covering, for example by oxidation anodic.

  In the interior 7 of the broiler is a container 8, for example a cup-shaped container made of transparent, heat-resistant material, for example of borasilicate glass, such as Pyrex or Jenaer glass, which is resistant to temperature. 600 and also gas, humidity, oils, fats and the like, and in which is deposited the material to be grilled. You can have more in this container

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 a device 9 for fixing the material to be grilled, for example a device as shown in FIG. 3. The filiform outer members 11 serve at the same time to fix the device 9 to the container 8, while the part central shaft 10 are fixed grilling material.

   In order to properly maintain the container 8 in the grilling space, there are provided elastic wire stirrups 12 (FIG. 1) which are attached, which exert a thrust on the container 8 when the latter is inserted. By introducing the grilling materials into a receptacle, the oils, fats and analogues originating from the grilling materials are prevented from contaminating the interior of the broiler. Obviously, this receptacle 8 can be dispensed with in some cases. case, when the danger of contamination is non-existent.

  It is then sufficient to provide a wire basket 13 for the materials to be grilled, which emerges from FIG. 1. At 14 are also indicated connection terminals for the supply of the heating current.

   The operation of the grill described is practically obvious. The receptacle 8 or the wire basket 13 is introduced with the material to be roasted into the roasting space 7, the heating current then being. applied. The heat radiated from the heating elements burns the materials evenly on all sides, without the need for rotating or moving the materials. Through the viewing openings 15 of the casing 1, which are usefully covered with a heat-resistant and transparent material, for example glass, the development of the mesh can be examined without the cover 12 having to be examined. be taken.

   In the embodiment of Figures 4 and 5, there is provided a base plate 16. Tubes 17 are planted therein, the heating elements 18 being disposed therein. The tubes 17 are held in position at the top of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 means of a ring 19. The current supply to the heating elements 18 is also shown schematically at 20. The tubes 17, and therefore the heating elements 18 are arranged in a circle around the space intended for the materials to be cooked or to grill.

   This device is constructed in such a way that it can be placed, without other accessories, in a container with a diameter corresponding to that of the base plate 16, which makes it possible to dispense with an additional covering, for example. full of an envelope.

   The device according to the invention has various advantages. First of all, unlike the devices previously known for this purpose, no movement of the materials to be cooked or to be grilled is necessary, when these must. heated all on / sides, eg for grilling. The arrangement of the heating elements allows uniform heating on all sides of the material to be cooked or broiled. As can be seen from the drawings, the heating elements are advantageously arranged vertically, which prevents, for example, projections of oil or grease reaching the hot heating elements, burning there and forming. smoke.

   Another advantage stems from the fact that the materials to be cooked or toasted can be placed simply in a cylindrical wire basket, provided with handles 22, for example the wire basket 21 in FIG. 5. Said basket can for example be made of stainless steel and be suspended inside the cooking or grilling space. In order to protect them against contact, soiling and damage, the heating elements are located in tubes, for example quartzite, that is to say, a material which is a good conductor of heat.

   The described cooking or grilling device has

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 as it has been practically demonstrated, owing to the advantageous arrangement of the heating elements and the concentration by reflection of the heat rays on the materials to be cooked or grilled, a better efficiency than the known analogous devices, of such so that the cooking or roasting time is shorter than in the known embodiments.

   The invention is obviously not limited to the embodiments shown and described. Thus, the heating elements for example do not necessarily have to be arranged vertically, they can also be arranged horizontally on the periphery of the casing, for example in the form of rings or segments of rings. The decisive feature of the invention is that the heating elements are arranged around the cooking or grilling space, advantageously in a circle, so that the materials to be cooked or to be grilled lying in the middle. inside are heated evenly on all sides. It should be mentioned, however, that the embodiment shown with the heating elements arranged vertically has various advantages over the other embodiments.

  The heating elements are simple to produce and easily assembled; moreover, they are replaced without any particular difficulty for repairs. The danger of soiling the heating elements is much lower with the vertical arrangement. They are also in this case, and for the same reasons, easier to clean. In addition, for special purposes, it may be envisioned to arrange the heating elements other than in a circle, in particular when, for example, the envelope does not have a cylindrical shape or when the materials to be heated deviate clearly from each other. the round shape.

   However, there may then be zones at different temperatures in the cooking or grilling space proper which may, however, by a corresponding calculation of the heating elements

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 be balanced. Although this special case should hardly be of importance, it should however be mentioned for completeness and in order to show that ,, although the circular arrangement of the heating elements represents the most suitable embodiment. While suitably, the scope of the invention encompasses essentially all embodiments in which the heating elements are disposed at the periphery, for example of a casing, i.e. around the space. cooking or broiling.

   Finally, it may also be advantageous to provide the casing with one or more support handles which facilitate handling of the device. These handles can, in order to facilitate packaging or for other reasons, be made removable.
