Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

     Malheureusement, ces installations n'existent encore qu'exception- nellement dans les étables. Les étrilles susceptibles d'être raccor- dées aux tuyaux d'aspiration, possèdent généralement au fond, des ouvertures d'aspiration en forme d'ajutages, réparties sur toute la surface. Toutefois dans certaines formes de réalisation, le fond de l'étrille, de forme ovale et plat, est traversé longitudi- nalement par un ajutage d'aspiration étroit, qui s'étend entre les grattoirs, jusqu'au bord inférieur de ceux-ci. Néanmoins, dans cette forme de réalisation l'ajutage comporte,à proximité des grattoirs, des parois latérales parallèles, de sorte que les étrilles de ce type peuvent uniquement être raccordées à un tuyau d'aspiration à soufflerie d'une force convenable.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

   Different types of curbs are known for cleaning pets. such as those with rows of sheet teeth, pointed or flat and chamfered comb teeth, or those with marginal undulations extending to the bottom of the curry. He . There are also curved bottom curbs forming a handle, others only with rows of teeth, also called ribbed curbs, or still others having teeth combined with bristles, or the equivalent. These bristles clog quickly and because of the neighboring rows of sheet metal teeth, they are difficult to clean. All these known curry combs only allow animals to be treated with effort and not very quickly.

   It is also known practice to connect curry crabs to suction pipes usually provided in the ventilation installations of stables.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

     Unfortunately, these installations still exist only exceptionally in stables. The weeders capable of being connected to the suction pipes generally have at the bottom suction openings in the form of nozzles, distributed over the entire surface. However, in certain embodiments, the bottom of the curb, which is oval and flat, is traversed lengthwise by a narrow suction nozzle, which extends between the scrapers, to the lower edge thereof. . However, in this embodiment the nozzle has parallel side walls near the scrapers, so that weeds of this type can only be connected to a blower suction pipe of suitable strength.

   On the other hand, the opening of the mouthpiece extends to the edge of the brush which surrounds it, so that the dirt can only be removed with difficulty, the nozzle easily clogs. To eliminate these drawbacks, there is proposed, according to the invention, a spring tine of a simple shape, capable of being adapted to the milking machines provided in most stables.

   This weeder has a suction nozzle which passes through the bottom and advances between the scrapers, and which is advantageously flat, surrounded by crimping ribs known per se arranged concentrically and symmetrically around it and wavy both longitudinally and transversely, this nozzle tapering advantageously in a cone towards the lower edge of the ribs, while the opening of its mouth has a cross section in relation to the suction of a vacuum pump of a machine installation. vacuum milking, so that the weir can be connected to the suction pipe of such an installation. According to the invention, the opening of the mouth of the weir is, towards the bottom of the latter, slightly set back from the plane of the lower edges of the ribs of the weir.

   In a preferred embodiment of the invention the restricting ribs are made in the form of low-rise buckets placed concentrically in each other.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 others while on the upper side of the outer cup is fixed a domed bottom, known per se, serving as a handle. The curry according to the invention makes it possible to clean the animals with less fatigue, better and more quickly than hitherto and in a much shorter time, and the animals remain immobile because of the wing, the device according to the invention does not scratch or scratch. does not injure. In addition, such a curry comb does not need to be cleaned since combed hairs, dust, etc. are already removed during labor.

   The manufacturing costs of this curry are low and it is operated by the milking installation already existing on large farms, that is to say by connection to the suction pipe of a vacuum pump of installations of depression.

   In the accompanying drawing showing by way of example an embodiment of the invention, FIG. 1 is a section of the curry, FIG. 2 a bottom view and FIG. 3 a perspective view.

   As shown in the drawing, the curry according to the invention comprises several rows of de-its or curling ribs l, made of sheet metal, preferably concentric, closed on themselves, forming an oval (see FIG. 2) and surrounding, for example, the relatively narrow slot 2 of a suction nozzle, it would also be possible to provide several slots or several rows of teeth of any other shape, or only a single row of teeth forming an enclosure. . To obtain a particularly effective suction effect, the mouth of the nozzle advantageously terminates in a plane which extends parallel to the outer edge of the restricting ribs 1 and slightly above this edge.

   When the weir according to the invention is used, the narrow space formed between the end of the nozzle and the skin, already provides effective suction by itself. In the particularly advantageous shape of the rows of teeth shown in the figures, the edge of the teeth or crimping ribs is wavy, that is to say it has

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 marginal undulations, both longitudinally and transversely.

  The wavy teeth effectively cleanse the skin without clogging, scratching or hurting, as easily happens with sharp comb-shaped teeth, and therefore animals remain calm during cleaning. The advantage of having multiple rows of teeth is that the outer teeth remove most of the grime that falls from the skin and the curry, while the inner teeth serve both to ruffle the hairs and loosen the grime that is there, and moreover they also serve to seal the suction chamber, although enough air still penetrates there for the suction to take place and the curb does not adhere by suction, to the skin.

   The most advantageous shape of the teeth arranged in a closed figure, that is to say the shape allowing the tight application to an irregular skin, is the oval shape because it does not have corners unfavorable to the skin. sealing. As can be seen in fig. 1, the crimping ribs 1 constitute, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, the side walls of flat cups placed one inside the other, while on the outside of the bottom of the outer cup is fixed, for serve as a handle, a rounded bottom 3 known per se. The suction can be carried out by any known device, such as a vacuum cleaner. However these are not advantageous their purchase being expensive and they would be quickly deteriorated by the suction of air from the stables, containing ammonia.

   Also the weir according to the invention is intended to be connected to the suction pipe of the vi @ e lines of the existing milking installation in any modern barn or of any size, that is to say that it has been studied from the point of view of dimensions, shape and position of the opening, for the power of these installations. To obtain particularly efficient suction with the suction force thus available, suction with little but intense air, the suction opening

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 tion 2 should be very narrow or very close to the skin. Tests have shown that nozzles with wide openings, away from the skin, do not produce sufficient suction when connected to the same milking installation.

   So that the dirt sucked in cannot accumulate in this advantageously narrow nozzle, the latter is preferably executed so as to widen in a cone from the slot towards the suction pipe (fig. 1). Finally, it is advantageous to provide a filter similar to that of a dust extractor, so that the sucked up dirt does not enter the vacuum line and does not clog the vacuum blower.

   The net according to the invention constitutes a combination of different elements known per se, which makes it possible to work better, more easily, pleasantly and much more quickly than by means of known devices of this type, and during the work itself this curry comb is cleans; moreover, it can be mass produced as an inexpensive article capable of being connected to the usual already existing milking installations.
