Le fonctionnement de cette clef est le suivant: En poussant la clef sur un objet ( boulon h sur la Fig. 1),les plaques b correspondant au diamètre de l'objet,sont poussées par l'objet,partiellement ou dans leur totalité(suivant l'objet in- -troduit) en position de recul(Fig. 1 bl)-Le frein c empèche les plaques b non poussées par l'objet,d'être entrainées par les plaques b poussées par l'objet.Ce même frein c,par l'introduction automatique des ses lamelles cl,flexibles,dans les rainures e(Fig.4 empêche les plaques b de sortir de leur position de départ.Le même but pourrait être atteint par la poussée d'un ressort, avec ou sans déclanchement, adapté à la clef;

The object described below is a key which allows the setting of bolts, nuts or any other object capable of being held tight, loosened, screwed or unscrewed. It is composed of the following parts: Fig. It represents (Fig. 1 a): the steel frame or any other material - (Fig. 1 b) steel plates or any other material - (Fig. 1 bl): plates b in the retracted position - (Fig.1 d) a steel plunger or any other material - (Fig.lc): a steel brake or any other material - (Fig. 1 h): a bolt held in the gripping position.

Fig. 6 represents a key. (Fig. 6 a): the frame- (Fig. 6 b): the plates-in the starting position- (Fig. 6 g): a steel pin or any other material around which the plates b- (Fig. 6 b1): plates tilted around the axis g.- (Fig. 6 f): a cut-out cover used to keep the plates b tilted or not, in position.
Fig. R represents a view of the key of Fig.6 -Lecouvercel f is in the open position allowing the installation of plates bl tilting around the axis g.

Fig. 7 shows a view of a set of plates b which can be slipped into any key of suitable shape. It can be held by the springs 1 or any other fixing system (even by magnetization) - (Fig. 7 K ): the frame in which the plates are held b.
Fig. 9 shows a plate b of FIG. 6, Fig. 7, Fig. 8 but it could be constructed in another shape and cut.
The operation of this key is as follows: By pushing the key on an object (bolt h in Fig. 1), the plates b corresponding to the diameter of the object are pushed by the object, partially or in their entirety ( depending on the object inserted) in the retracted position (Fig. 1 bl) -The brake c prevents the plates b not pushed by the object, from being dragged by the plates b pushed by the object. brake c, by the automatic introduction of its flexible blades cl in the grooves e (Fig. 4 prevents the plates b from leaving their starting position. The same goal could be achieved by the thrust of a spring, with or without triggering, adapted to the key;
or by a hydra- -matic or other thrust. The starting position could be that of the plates bl. The plates b, are of a thickness (taking into account the friction tolerances, according to the material used) such that they allow exact grip of all standard and non-standard bolts or nuts.
The s plates b of FIG. l have 9.6 tenths of a mm. thick, but they could be any thickness, width and length allowing exact grip of all bolts and nuts, standard or not. The thickness of the plates is appropriate to the standard measurements of the metric system or any another measuring system.These plates could be constructed

U-shaped and interchangeable and could be held in the frame of the key, either by pinions, springs or by magnetization. The surface of the plates can be -in vanadium, in chromor built entirely in these materials,
Summary.
The novelty of this key, described in its different forms, has for main peculiarities: the presence of plates, thicknesser, width, length and shape appropriate, adaptable automatically or semi-automatically to all the di - standard or non-standard measurements of bolts, nuts or other object.
The number of plates, in their assembly, can be of the order of 1 plate to an appropriate number of plates, which requires the grip of a bolt or an object of maximum defined size.
