The present invention relates to a piston machine comprising at least two pistons integral with an eccentric ring and oriented radially, guided to slide in. cylinders, in turn guided by tangential sliding and controlling, during their movement, orifices communicating with annular channels intended respectively for the admission and the departure of a low pressure fluid. A piston machine of this type can serve as well as motor pump The machine is automatically controlled, it sucks automatically when it is used as a pump, and it can work in all positions and in both directions of rotation.
According to the invention, the annular channels of this piston machine are formed in the two lateral faces of an annular body and they are blocked by flanges and seals applied on both faces. The machine is distinguished by a space-saving, very compact and robust arrangement requiring no fragile parts. The machine according to the invention thus offers simultaneously the advantages of rotary machines with regard to the reduction of space requirements, and those of piston machines with regard to the synchronization of movements. When the piston machine is Equipped with four or more pistons, its use as a pump results in a pulsation-free discharge current, such as that of a centrifugal pump.
The machine therefore works without any morto @

dre 10 is provided at one end with an outer peripheral flange 13. Between the inner face 14 of this flange 13 and the outer face 15 of the support 12 is interposed a ball guide device 16, 17, the balls 16 of which are lo - Aged in a cage 17 in the manner shown in Figs. 8 and 10. The support is fixed to the flange 20 of the machine by two threaded bolts 18 and nuts 19.
Another threaded bolt 21, screwed into the flange 20, carries an off-center head 22 engaged with a groove 23 (figs. 2 and 7) made in the center of the support 12.
At the outer end, the threaded bolt 21 has a transverse slot 24. for operation by means of a screwdriver. A nut 25 serves to lock the threaded bolt 21 in its adjustment position. After loosening this screen 25, the bolt 21 can be rotated by means of a screwdriver to adjust the support 12 via the off-center head 22. The outer face of the flange 13 of the cylinder 10 is hardened and lapped. , and this face can slide on a face 27 also hardened and lapped of a flange 28 forming the fixed part of the dispenser, while the movable part of this dispenser is formed by the flange 13.
The flange 28 has two orifices in the shape of an arc of a circle 29, 30 diametrically opposed, (fig. 4 and 14) which are unmasked and masked by the back and forth movements * of the flange 13 of the cylinder at each half-point. .turn of rotation of the crankpin decent = 5. The two orifices 29, 30 are masked in the median position of the cylinder 10. The flange 28 is integral with an end piece 31 force-fitted in a bore 32 of an annular body 33. Annular channels 34 and 35 are respectively formed in the side faces of this annular body. The channel 34 communicates via connection channels with the orifices 29 of the distributors, while the channel 35 communicates via connection channels with the orifices 30. The two channels 34, 35 respectively end in connection pipes 36, 37.
The annular channel 34 is masked outwards by the flange 2b and a seal 38, while the annular channel 35 is masked by a flange 39 integral with the bearing 3, and by a seal. 40. The two flanges 20 and 39 are assembled and strongly tightened by threaded bolts 41 and nuts 42.
The machine is held in the operating position by feet 43 indicated in phantom in FIG. 1. These feet can also be replaced by legs from the foundry and provided at any points. Finally, the machine can be attached directly to a motor by a clamp.
It is immediately understood that the pistons 9 of the machine which has just been described follow the circular movement of the off-center crankpin 5, while the cylinders 10 are driven by a tangential back-and-forth movement and automatically control the distributor. for admission and departure of pressurized fluid. The machine can act as a motor as well as a pump in either direction of rotation. When used as a pump, it sucks automatically and gives a discharge current without any pulsation.
Thanks to its arrangement, the machine in question ensures high efficiency for each discharge pressure, especially compared to rotary machines. The operating time is very long, except for the natural wear of the bearings. In fact, contact is only established between the hardened and lapped faces of the distributors which are arranged to allow adjustment and adjustment. The fluid inlet and outlet channels as well as the orifices of the distributors may receive a section sufficient to ensure the free passage of the fluid both during admission and during departure. Combined with the short stroke lengths of the pistons, this feature allows operation at a relatively high speed.
