<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

"Spring element".
The invention relates to a spring element, in particular to a spring strip of the type of coil springs, as well as to the nature of the attachment of these springs to a frame.
Here, wave springs have been employed as the spring elements, which are manufactured in continuous lengths, and are provided with loops in the form of successive waves, the latter being connected by rectilinear sections. With this type of spring there are some difficulties in that the characteristics of the springs are the same at all points of their length and that a uniform contour in the section carrying the load of the springs is not obtained.
The described drawbacks and others are avoided with a spring element according to the invention, which is distinguished by a relatively long straight spring section. At the same time, .the .dering section ae connecting to the rectilinear section may present partial @

wavy spring.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention. the spring elements, which are carried by the transverse parts of a frame, have an aection intended to receive the load, and which, according to the invention, is extended in a rectilinear front section, relatively long, and in a posterior section, while the latter is suitably made up of wavy spring portions, while the anterior end of the straight section has a lateral deflection and an anterior crosspiece connecting to it, which continues in a deflection towards the side. 'back and down, to continue in a side extension piece and, immediately after,
in one part curved forward and downwards, while the latter forms a V with the section inclined.
A side piece and, following the latter, a piece curved towards the rear are advantageously rac-. cordate, on which finally a rectilinear end part is provided.
Other features of the embodiment of the invention appearing from the accompanying drawings, which illustrate the invention schematically and by way of example.
In the drawings! FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the spring upholstery of a seat cushion according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is a top view of a cushion spring padding, according to Figure 1.
- Figure 3, a side view of the same, - Figure 4, a top view of another embodiment of the invention, and
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
- Figure 5, a side view of the spring body according to Figure 4.
According to figures 1, 3 and 3, there is a frame 10, which has an anterior transverse part 11 and a posterior transverse part 12. These two chase parts carry a number of spring elements 13 extending entered them. The spring elements 13 have a section 14 intended to be loaded, which extends into a straight, relatively long anterior section 15 and a posterior section 16, the latter consisting of corrugated spring portions 17, which give the section 16 flexibility and allow this section to take any desired contour. The anterior end of the straight section 14 has a lateral inflection 18, immediately followed by an anterior transverse piece 19.
The wire is then extended in a part 21 inclined towards the rear and downwards, to extend, immediately after, at 3 @, laterally and, in its subsequent course, at 23, forwards and vex the low.
The section 23 has with the inclined section 21 a V as shown in particular in figure 3. It is then extended into a side piece 24 and a part 25 bent backwards, at which it finally ends. in a rectilinear part 26. Qette @ end part 26 enters a cuff or support sleeve 2? on the front part 11 of the frame, while it rests firmly on the frame, to avoid twists of the resulting support end.
An upwardly directed tab 23, which, according to the drawing, is disposed in a corrugating recess between sections 24 and 25, prevents the rectilinear end portion 26 from coming out of the cuff 27, after the an-

terior 24 was brought into contact with the anterior part of the chassie.
The other rear end of the spring element has a section 31 perpendicular to the direction of the spring element and is carried in an opening of a rubber block 32 erected vertically, and which is fixed between the flanges 33 and 34 of the posterior part of the chassie. An anchoring tab 35 holds the block 32 in its position, but at the same time allows the block to bend towards the front part of the frame when the spring body is loaded.
As a result of the block 32 being anchored, the latter cannot be removed from its seat.
As Figures 11 and 3 further show, the springs 13 are arranged at a considerable distance from each other, i.e. a small number of spring elements 13 are employed to receive the load pressing on the surface wears off. This and made possible by the roof that additional support wires 36 are introduced between the spring wires 13, in a plane lying below (see figure 3). The posterior end of the fila 36 has a portion 37 curved upwards and continues in a section 38 which is perpendicular to it and which is held in an opening in the rubber block.
33.
At 39, the wire 36 is slightly curved, while its front end is provided with a section 41 which is perpendicular to it, which is carried by a rubber block 32. The block 32. is arranged in a shaped section 42. trough. which is fixed to the front part 11 of the frame. A downwardly directed flange 43 is attached to the frame portion 11 in the vicinity of the fan 44 of the block 32. The blocks 32 at both ends of the wire.

reinforcement 36 can tilt towards each other when the * wires 36 are loaded.
The threads 36 having lateral deflections 45 and 46 so that the main length of the threads 36 extends along the axial line connecting the blocks 32. As already mentioned above, the thread 36 is disposed between the elements to be spring 13 and help to support the load, when the spring elements 13 are loaded sufficiently so as to flex up to the plane of the wires 36.
With the arrangement depicted, a comfortable seat cushion is created by means of the described flat spring body, which can be arranged closer to the floor of a self-propelled vehicle than heretofore and which thus allows greater free height to the vehicle. over the seat. An edging wire 47 extends along the front section of the spring member 13 and is connected thereto by a cuff 48 '.
This wire runs at 49 all the way down the side of the seat cushion and is connected to the end spring element 51, the load bearing section of which has a straight path, as will be further described in the following.
Between the side section 49 of the edging wire 47 and the section to be subjected to the load of the support wire 51, there is a curved filler wire 52, which is secured by bands 48 to the spring member 51.
A pair of stiffening springs 53 and 54 (see figures 1 and 3) between the front part 10 of the frame and the side section 49 of the edging wire 47 may be provided, to provide additional support against bending The upper ends of the springs 53 and 54 are tied to edging wire 47 by strips 48 '' ', while the lower ends extend through an opening. in the side parts of the frame. In this way,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
a spring loaded seat is created with minimum fila length and minimum depth, while the seat has the desired contour and excellent support for the load.
When the seat is only lightly loaded, the section of the spring body intended to receive the load is itself capable of carrying the load, @ Under a greater load, the support wires provided below the body Spring itself comes into action to receive the overload. The rubber blocks for elastic retention of the wire ends as well as for receiving the ends of the spring elements protrude upwards and are bent inwards when the spring body, including the support wires, takes up the load .
In FIGS. 4 and 5, another exemplary embodiment of the invention is reproduced according to which bands such as spring 51 are used, / those which are already represented in FIG. 2 in correlation with their attachment to the end. of the chassis. The spring bands 51 have the rectilinear section 55 for receiving the load and correspond to the spring elements 13, as these are depicted in Figures 1, 2 and 3, with the difference that the wavy loops 17 are left. next to.
The use of the rectilinear section 55 is possible by the use of the upwardly extending rubber blocks 32, which can be bent inwardly in the manner previously described, which give the laying surface the desired shape, when this is loaded and which further contributes to a soft flexibility of the rear spring ends. Likewise, with this arrangement, the ends of the wires 36 are carried, so as to be able to turn, on the front part of the frame and their section.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
rectilinear terminal 41 is passed through cuffs 27, which allow the rotational movement.
For the rest, the conformation of the spring elements is the same as that which has been described in correlation with Figures 1 to 3.
