The process of the invention can be advantageously carried out by mixing a solution or a suspension of the diazotized amine in a mineral acid such as sulfuric or hydrochloric acid with a solution of the coupling component in a suitable solvent, or in a mixture of solvents. suitable for example a mixture of water, hydrochloric acid and acetone, a temperature ranging for example from 0 to 20 ° C and stirring the mixture until coupling is complete. The dye, which is almost insoluble in water, can be filtered, washed and dried.
A further subject of the present invention is a process for dyeing textile materials of aromatic polyesters according to which a dye is applied to these textile materials.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Persian, as defined above.
An example of an aromatic polyester textile material is a polyethylene terephthalate textile material. Elit can be in any form, for example, yarns, yarns or woven or knitted fabric.
The coloring process of the invention can be carried out by immersing the aromatic polyester textile material, in a dye bath, comprising an aqueous dispersion of a disperse dye, as defined above, the dispersion being stabilized, if so. desire *, by dispersing agents as sulphonated formadenyl-naphthalene condensation products.
The dye bath can be heated to boiling or near temperature with the addition of a vehicle such as diphenyl or o-hydroxyphenyl, or it can be heated above 100 ° C in a closed container. , with or without addition of a vehicle
Alternatively, an aqueous dispersion of the disperse dye may be applied by webbing onto the aromatic polyester textile material and set by heating, for example for 1 to 2 minutes at 180 to 220 ° C. The toularding liquor can advantageously be thickened or thickened. migration inhibitor and other additives such as urea.
If desired, the coloring process of the invention can be carried out by applying a thickened printing paste containing an aqueous dispersion of the water-insoluble dye to the surface of the textile material, followed by spraying, or cooking. Suitable thickening agents are, for example, tragacanth, acacia, Nafka crystal gum, alginates, oil-in-water or water-in-oil pulses. The paste to be printed may also contain customary adjuvants, such as surfactants and sodium m-nitro benzenesultonate.
After coloring, the textile material is removed from the dye bath, the spray chamber or the oven, rinsed!
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
and treated with a synthetic soap or detergent. It is also advantageous to treat the textile material with a dilute alkaline sodium hyrosulfite solution before soaping, as this helps to remove loosely bound dye particles from the fiber surface.
The dyes of the invention have an excellent affinity for aromatic polyester textile materials on which they build well and which they color in red to blue shades with excellent wet fastness, to dry heat treatments, even. at the high temperatures used in pleating operations, and in the light *
The dyestuffs of the invention in which X is a formyl radical and R and R 'are each the same or different lower alkyl radicals are of great interest in the coloring of aromatic polyester textile materials. these dyes work very well on aromatic polyester textile materials.
The dyes of the invention in which A and B are respectively a nitro group and a halogen atom both bonded ortho to the aso bond and Z is a lower alkoxy radical give good navy blue shades on textile materials of aromatic polyesters. The dyes in which X is a formyl radical and R and R 'are each the same or different lower alkyl radicals have been found to be interesting because they rise well giving very dark navy blue shades.
The dyes according to the invention can be used as a mixture with one another or with other disperse dyes. It is particularly advantageous to dye textile materials with aromatic polyesters by applying a mixture of a dye according to the invention in which R 'is a lower alkyl radical with a dye according to the invention in which R' is. a hydrogen atom. These mixtures work particularly well on materials
