<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

The seed drill according to the invention, shown in the figures
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
2A, 2B and 3, comprises two track discs 1 and 1 ', each of these discs been' mounted at the end of a telescopic arm 2 so as to allow the adjustment of the position of the track discs relative to the frame 4 of the seeder. The end of the arms opposite the discs is mounted to pivot around a shaft 3 mounted in a bracket 14 integral with the frame 4, The movement of each of the arms 4 is controlled from a lever 13 by the intermediary a telescopic rod 15 and a lever 6.
This lever 6 comprises, at its end 7, a sleeve 8 rotating freely on the shaft 3, a part 16 being fixed to the end 10 of this lever 6 and making it possible to join, in pivoting, said lever, on the one hand , the telescopic rod 15 and on the other hand, the end 17 of a rod 18, the other end 19 of which is pivotally mounted, at 20, on the arm 2. The telescopic rods 15 controlling the arms 2 are joined together, pivotally, to the control lever 13 so that tilting the latter to the left or to the right allows a track disc to be raised while the opposite disc will be lowered and vice versa.
The useful length of the rod 18 can be adjusted by sliding it in a washer 21 mounted to pivot, in the aforementioned part 16 and by placing a pin 22 in one of the holes 23 made in the rod, this pin cooperating with the washer 21 so as to limit the movements from top to bottom of the arm 2 around the shaft 3, this pin 22 on the other hand allowing the @ épl @ cements of said arm 2 from bottom to top. In order to avoid the drawbacks mentioned above and resulting from the use of counterweights to ballast the discs 1 and 1 ', the rod 18 cooperating with each of the arms 2 is surrounded by a spring 24, the latter being immobilized between the washer 21 and a pin 25 placed in one of the holes 26 made in the rod 18.
The tension of the spring 24 is adjusted by moving the unupille 25. The spring, resting, on the one hand, on the washer
21 and, on the other hand, on the pin 25, exerts pressure on the rod 18 and, via the articulation 20. on the arm 2 and, of the,

-. sun the tracer disc in order to make it penetrate the soil to the desired depth and to maintain or bring it back to this depth. The use of the spring 24 to ballast the discs 1 and 1 'makes it possible to prevent the jumping of the weighted discs thanks to the counterweights; in fact, this spring not only exerts pressure on the arms 2 but also acts as a shock absorber.
Each of the arms 2 of the seeder, articulated on a shaft is arranged on this shaft by means of a device 27 @@@ being to fold down, following the double arrow 28 (Figure 3), sc's 1 tion of a force, resulting from a shock, applied to the bra. in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the shaft 3, said arm: Mans a plane parallel to the axis of said shaft 3. The device 27 comprises a bracket 29, the two wings 30 of which are threaded onto the shaft 3, the arm 2 being integral with a plate 31 coming into contact with the base 32 of the caliper and carrying a journal 33 passing through an opening 34 made in the base 32 of the latter.
The plate 31 is held against the base 32 of the caliper by a spring 38, of adjustable tension, surrounding the journal 33, this spring being compressed between the base 32 of the caliper and a nut 35 screwed at the end. of the journal opposite the end of the latter integral with the plate 31. The plate 31 has, on its face in contact with the base of the stirrup, recesses 36 cooperating with corresponding projections 37 provided on said base of the caliper.
These recesses and these projections, as well as the spring cooperate to hold the plate 31, and, from there, the arm 2 in the normal working position of the track disc, a force, resulting from an impact, exerted. in a direction substantially parallel to the shaft 3 disengaging, against the spring 38, the projections of the aforementioned recesses and causing the plate 31 to pivot and, from there, the arm around the journal 33.
According to the invention, the seed drill, shown in figures
2 and 3, includes two track discs 1 and 1 'orientable.

Each of these discs has a shaft 39 mounted on a journal 40. The journal 40 pivots in a sleeve 41 integral with the aforementioned arm 2, this journal being integral with a caliper 42 and being held in the sleeve 41 by a pin 43 penetrating into a hole 44 provided in the journal, the bracket 42 has two wings 45 arranged on either side of the arm 2, a tapped hole 46 being. in each of these wings and allow the passage of a pressure screw 47. By acting on these pressure screws 47, it is possible to adjust with great precision the orientation of the tracer disc.
