<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Rotary device generating oscillations, with unloaded bearings.
The invention relates to a rotary oscillating apparatus with unloaded bearings and a directed excitation force for controlling shaker conveyors, silo outlets, vibrating devices, shaker screens and the like, including the inertia masses are driven by the same axis but rotate in the opposite direction to the Intervention of a set of gears, inside a hermetic casing of rotationally symmetrical shape, the walls of which absorb the centrifugal forces generated by the masses of inertia in rotation.
Oscillations generating devices are known where the unbalanced masses are fixed on two parallel shafts between them and rotate in the opposite direction, with the intervention of a pair of spur gears. It follows that if,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
in a determined angular position of the unbalanced masses their centrifugal twists are added, they are balanced in the angular position rotated by 90.
We also oonned devices generating oscillations where half of the unbalanced masses is fixed on the control shaft which crosses them, while the other half is fixed on a tubular shaft slid on a part of the control shaft and rotating in the opposite direction to it, using a set of tapered gears.
These two types of apparatus require special very heavy shafts and bearings in order to be able to absorb without danger the powerful centrifugal forces of unbalanced masses, and place a heavy burden on the cost of these apparatus.
Oscillation generating devices are also known in which the unbalanced masses have the form of conical rollers, mounted on a tubular shaft in a cylindrical casing. The side surfaces of the unbalanced rollers roll on the side surfaces of rolling rings, mounted in the housing. The tubular shaft is crossed by the control shaft, the bearings of which are mounted in the front faces of the casing, and is driven by a driving cleat movable in the radial direction. so as to rotate eccentrically with respect to the axial center of the control shaft. The bore of the tubular shaft is substantially larger than the diameter of the drive shaft, so that the tubular shaft can move freely in the radial direction of the drive shaft.
The eccentricity is determined only by the position of the tapered bearing rings relative to the side surfaces of the unbalanced rollers. The tubulad @ shaft carrying these unbalanced rollers is self-centered @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
matically in the axial direction by the conical rolling surfaces.
Even disregarding the fact that the oscillating forces of this type of generator are not directed, it is at least doubtful that it can generate large oscillating forces. This appears in particular due to the fact that, in the first place, the transmission of the rotational movement from the control shaft to the tubular shaft can only meet the requirements of high power with difficulty; that then the bearings of the unbalanced rollers are subjected to strong axial thrusts, and finally that the rolling surfaces can wear unevenly, and compromise the faultless operation of the device.
The object of the invention is to overcome these drawbacks.
The invention therefore took on the problem of creating a generator of high-power directed oscillations, the size of which will be minimal and also the loads on the bearings minimal.
This problem is solved by the invention by arranging in a cylindrical casing several unbalanced masses pivotally mounted on individual shafts, parallel to the axial control shaft and rotating around the latter; masses with which are associated cylindrical rings fixed to the internal wall of the casing and which their raceway ribs. Half of the unbalanced masses are fixed directly to the control shaft by cranks, while the other half is fixed, also by cranks, to a tubular shaft slid on part of the control shaft and rotating in the opposite direction to it, with the intervention of a conical gear set driven by the control shaft.
The invention further provides that, to compensate for
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
machining and wear tolerances being exceeded between the inner surfaces of the rolling rings and the rolling surfaces of the unbalanced masses, the shafts of these unbalanced masses are resiliently supported in their drive cranks.
Another particularity of the invention consists in that the spacers which carry the intermediate bearings of the control shaft are resiliently fixed to the wall of the casing in order to compensate for the passing deformations managed by this casing; and in that the spacers of one of the intermediate bearings further serve as support for the pair of bevel gears of the bevel gear set which reverses the direction of rotation of the tubular shaft.
The invention further provides that the rolling surfaces of the unbalanced masses are made of artificial material or of another material ensuring quiet operation, but also resistant to wear.
The oscillation generator apparatus according to the invention has significant advantages over the known generators of the species. It is the first to house all the moving parts of a device that generates directed oscillations, inside a hermetic casing, the bearing rings of which absorb all of the centrifugal forces of the unbalanced masses. As a result, the loads on the bearings are greatly reduced and normal bearings can be used, thus achieving great savings in the construction of the apparatus.
The principles of the invention are shown in the annexed tomorrow in an exemplary embodiment of the apparatus, seen in longitudinal section.
This generator of directed oscillations consists of a housing 1 in the axis of which rotates the control shaft 2. This control shaft 2 carries inside @
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
and towards the ends of the housing 1 of the pairs of cranks 3; 4 which elastically support the shafts 5, 6 parallel to the control shaft 2. These shafts 5, 6 pivotally support the unbalanced rollers 7, 8 of the same length and basket "1". In the middle of the control shaft 2 there is slipped in Divotement a tubular shaft end 10, also provided with a pair of cranks 9.
This pair of cranks 9 also resiliently carries the shaft 11 parallel to the control shaft 2, and this shaft 11 pivotally carries the unbalanced roller 15, of length and mass "2xl", the tubular shaft 10 this driven by the control shaft 2, but turns in senna opposed to the inter- vention of a conical gear 12 fixed on the control shaft 2, which drives a pair of intermediate conical gears the 13 required on the bevel gear 14, fixed on the tubular shaft 10, the direction of rotation of which was thus reversed.
Between the unbalanced masses 7. 8 and the unbalanced mass 15 are intermediate bearings 16, 17. of the control shaft 2, elastically supported by the walls of the casing 1 using the spacers 18 , 19. The spacer 19 serves in this case also as a support for the pair of bevel gears 13.
To the right of each unbalanced mass 7. 8, 15, rolling rings 20 are mounted on the inner wall of the housing 1. The unbalanced masses rotating around the control shaft 2 thus roll on the cylindrical surfaces. driques of these rolling rings 20 and transfer thereto the centrifugal forces generated by their rotation. In order to dampen the noise of the device in operation, the unbalances 7, 8, 15, are provided with running surfaces 21 ensuring silent operation and resistant to wear, such as for example in artificial material or rubber. cabbage.
Shafts 5, 6, 11, unbalanced masses 7. 8,

15, are resiliently supported by linings 22 in pairs of cranks 3, 4, 9, so as to compensate for all machining and wear tolerances * Spacers 18, 19, intermediate bearings 16. 17, are assembled to the casing of the casing 1 by bolts, so that in order to be able to extract the entire rotating part of the apparatus from its casing 1, it suffices to remove these bolts and one of the front faces of this casing 1.
So that the intermediate bearings 16, 17 can adapt to the temporary deformations of the housing 1,
