"Case for hunting cartridge in plastic with reinforced bottom by means of a metal base".
The classic case of hunting cartridges is made up of a cylindrical cardboard case, the bottom of which is reinforced by means of a piece of compressed cardboard inserted therein, as well as a metal base enveloping the lower part of the cartridge. the cardboard sleeve up to a certain height. Said metal base is intended to wrap the lower part of the oarton sleeve over the extent of said reinforcing piece of compressed oarton to avoid any risk of bending of the cardboard sleeve during the insertion of the reinforcing piece. in oar-

your compressed. The cartridge case, made up of a cardboard case and a metal base, has a bead at the bottom, which has the function of locking the cartridge in the rifle and ensuring its ejection after firing.
The manufacture of oartou sockets has already been proposed. Hunting chocks in plastic material with reinforced bottom and flange, all made in one piece by press-forming or die-casting. Experience shows, however, that such a plastic hunting cartridge case without a lower metal reinforcement does not meet the practical requirements for the various functions which the case has to perform. This is why it has been proposed to provide these sockets also with a lower metal reinforcement, several embodiments of which have been recommended.
The use of a metallic reinforcement, such as a metallic base of the nature of that employed in conventional casings of hunting cartridges, however has the great drawback of increasing the cost price of the plastic casing to a minimum. such a degree that the advantages of this socket become illusory compared to the traditional oarton socket.
However, the present invention is aimed at the manufacture of a plastic hunting cartridge case, provided with a reinforced base by means of a metal base, having the advantage of great simplicity and of a price. relatively low cost from the double point of view of the manufacturing process and the materials used, while fully meeting all the requirements of practice regarding the operation of the oartouohe, that is to say sufficient mechanical resistance from the bottom to withstand the pressure resulting from the explosion of the charge and to ensure the ejection of the cartridge by means of the bead after the shot.

The characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge more clearly from the following detailed description of an exemplary embodiment, given purely for guidance without any restrictive intention, and illustrated by the appended drawing, of which the figure 1 shows the metal base separated from a hunting cartridge case according to the invention before its application to the plastic case; and FIG. 2 shows a plastic sleeve according to the invention, the bottom of which is provided with the reinforcing base shown in FIG. 1.
It can be seen by referring to the figures of the appended drawing that the plastic hunting cartridge case according to the invention consists of an upper part 1 and a lower part 2 provided with a bead 3, the whole being made in one piece by press forming or die casting. The prefabricated metal base abo is slid onto the bottom of the plastic sleeve and its cylindrical part bo is forced in such a way that part b fits the bead of the sleeve and part o applies to a narrow area of the cylindrical wall? of the socket.
Although the wrapped cylindrical area of the bushing is very narrow, the wrapped bead -b is strong enough to meet all the functional requirements of the practice, with all the advantages resulting from fabrication and assembly. very simple and very economical of the two elements abo and 1-2-3. Thanks to the narrowness of the cylindrical part to be forced b-o, a single operation is enough to press and force the metal base on the lower part of the plastic sleeve,
