"Moteur rotatif 1.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Rotary motor 1.
The present invention relates to a rotary combustion engine of the type provided with a piston rotating in a fixed casing and driving a motor shaft.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Many engines are already known with a rotary piston coupled to a rotary axis. The rotary motor according to the invention is characterized with respect to these known rotary motors in that the piston has an elongated shape, the ends of which are provided with scraper tapering off, and moves in a shaped housing. of triangle isocè @ e alternately around its ends closing pivot in a corner of the housing, the length of each side of the housing being substantially equal to that of the piston.
Also according to the invention, the piston drives with it in its movements, but in the opposite direction, a spindle connected to the motor shaft.
Other characteristics of the invention are further described below on the basis of the appended schematic drawing, by way of example only, which can be seen in:
Figure 1 a section through the housing of a rotary engine according to the invention, showing the piston in the intake position, and
Figure 2 a cross section through the housing of Figure 1, without the piston.
As can be seen in the drawing, the rotary motor produced according to the invention consists of a casing 1, in the form of an isosceles triangle, closed by a cover 2. The bottom of the chamber 3 formed in said casing is provided with a circular recess 4 extending in the axis through an orifice 5 of smaller diameter. The side walls 3 'of the chamber 3 have openings, respectively admission 6, for mounting the spark plug 7, and exhaust 8, said side walls 3' are oval.
In the hole 5 in the bottom of the housing, where a ball bearing 9 is provided, is mounted the motor shaft 10
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
integral with a plate 11, which is housed in the recess 4. Beyond the housing, on the motor shaft, is mounted a flywheel 12.
The plate carries eccentrically on its face directed towards the inside of the casing a pin 13 projecting in a longitudinal groove 14 of a piston 15 of elongated shape, the length of which is substantially equal to that of an internal wall 3 'of the casing and whose active faces 15 'are also oval, but have a slightly more pronounced oval than the internal walls 3' of the casing. The tapered ends X, X 'of the piston are provided with scrapers 16.
The pin 13 plunges into the groove 14 of the piston 15 via a guide roller 17.
The displacement of the piston is done in the direction of clockwise, while the rotation of the plate driven by the sliding spindle in the groove of the piston is done in the opposite direction.
The position shown in the drawing in Figure 1 gives the start of the cycle. Admission occurs and the piston pivots on one of its ends X 'in angle C of the chamber of the crankcase until its other end X starting from angle A reaches angle B of said chamber. At this moment, the X end remains fixed and the piston pivots in X (in broken lines) until its end X 'is brought to A, thus causing compression. From which follows 1'ignition by a spark plug 18 placed at 7. The explosion causes the displacement of the piston, which, pivoting in the angle A, brings its end X into the angle C,. expansion and beginning of exhaust in 8. The piston then swivels in C on its X end, there is total exhaust and again admission.
The cycle begins again,
Thus, for a half-turn of the piston on itself, a cycle four texps comblet occurs, and in the turn of the stop

engine.
It is understood that ignition, lubrication and cooling will depend on the application conditions.
It will be noted, however, that this engine lends itself particularly well to air cooling. In the exhaust opening 8 an automatic valve 19 is provided, while on the intake opening 6 an automatic valve carburetor 20 is provided, this being the case. that is to say terminating in a conical element 21, which penetrates into the inlet opening and which is provided with orifices 22 closed by a lamella 23 automatically forming a valve, when there is compression in the chamber of the crankcase.
Although they have not been shown in the drawing, the piston bears sealing rings on its side faces in contact with the cover and the bottom of the housing. Such segments are also provided for the plate 11.
Of course, such an engine can be constructed with an automatic valve carburetor, or with a camshaft or with an injector. The device according to the invention can serve as a rotary motor, but also as a rotary pump.
A rotary motor produced according to the invention is especially suitable for high rotational speeds.
