  MARCHE POUR ESCALIERS A-2LYL71VV.LLt4lAw

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 EMI1.1

  STEP FOR STAIRS A-2LYL71VV.LLt4lAw
The present invention relates to a step for spiral staircases consisting of two elements which can be prefabricated.

   Such stairs are sometimes constructed from prefabricated metal steps, assembled on site; these stairs are entirely satisfactory as long as the presence of all-metal steps is accepted.

   However, it happens that in certain types of construction, the architect for example, is desirous of having steps made of concrete, granite, etc. the benefit of prefabrication is therefore lost.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The aim of the invention is to design and produce a step the elements of which can be prefabricated and which can be used for dual use, namely for the construction of all-metal spiral staircases but also for the construction of staircases. helical with steps with a concrete, granite etc. surface.

   The step, object of the invention, is characterized in that it consists of two prefabricated elements, the first element or step proper, which can be mounted in two different ways on the second element or step support, either in view obtaining a staircase with metal steps, or with a view to obtaining a staircase with concrete steps.

   In order to make the invention clearly understood, a non-limiting example of an embodiment thereof will be described below with reference to the drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of the 'step proper.

   Figures 2 and 3 are views of the; below and above the step.

   Figures 4 and 5 are views of each end of the step.

   Figure 6 is an elevational view of the step support.

   Figure 7 is a top view of this support.

   Figures 8 and 9 are partially sectional views of the complete step with respectively metal grade and concrete grade.

   Figure 10 is a plan view of this step.

   Figure 11 is a bottom view of the complete step in which adjustment parts for ramp posts have been used.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   As shown in Figures 1 to 5, the first element or actual step 1 consists of a sheet 3 of trapezoidal shape with edges 4 to 43 folded at 90; two flat irons 5 and 6 welded in a T are integrally connected, by welding for example, to the inner faces of the edges 4, 41 and 43 and at approximately mid-height thereof. The tale 3 and the irons 5 and 6 are pierced with holes 7 superimposed in the same axis. Edge 4 is notched (at 71) flush with flat iron 5.

   The second element or step support 2 (Figures 6 'and 7) consists of a hollow iron 8 with a square section welded to a socket 9 and at the other end of which a flat iron 10 is integrally connected, by welding for example. , The hollow iron 8 and the flat iron 10 are provided with holes 11 corresponding to the holes 7 of the irons 5 and 6 and of the sheet 3.

   Figure 6 shows the first possible assembly of the step 1 proper on the step support 2.

   The step 1 is placed on the support 2 so that the flat iron 5 coincides with the hollow iron 8 and the flat iron 6, with the flat iron 10; the notch 71 in the edge 4 allows a perfect juxtaposition of the surfaces. Bolts 12 are then introduced into the holes 7 of the step 1 and the corresponding holes 11 of the support 2; the nuts 13 are then screwed onto the bolts 12 so as to make the step itself 1 perfectly integral with its support 2.

   In this assembly, we see that the staircase will have metal steps since it is the sheet 3 which serves as a walking surface.

   Figure 9 shows the second possibility of assembly with a view to obtaining a staircase presenting steps with a concrete surface, in granite, marble, etc.

   The actual step 1 is turned over and presented

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 with the edges 4 to 43 directed upwards so that the holes 7 of the step 1 and the holes 11 of the support 2 overlap; the bolts 12 are introduced into the holes' 7 and the corresponding holes 11 of the support 2; the tightening of nuts 13 on these bolts 12 makes the step 1 integral with its support 2.

   Concrete is then poured into the box formed by the inside of step 1 up to the level of the folded edges-4 to 43; the flat bars 5 and 6 serve as reinforcement for this concrete.

   It will therefore be noted that this staircase having steps with a concrete surface is obtained from the same tread elements 1 and 2 as the metal staircase.

   It is obvious that concrete can be replaced by any other material such as terrazzo, all reconstituted materials, a marble slab, a synthetic material slab, etc.

   FIG. 11 shows a step support 2 according to the invention provided with adjustment parts 14 in accordance with Belgian patent application No. PV 53 190 filed on January 12, 1968 by the applicant; on this support 2 is mounted the actual step 1 in accordance with the present invention.
