au moins un autre anthelminthique.
EMI2.1
Le 1,2,3,4,5,5,6,7,5,9,1,.0-dodécacn.l.oropentacyclo- 30000¯7dcce répond à la formule de structure (1)
EMI2.2
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
Newcomer & . E.T. McBee, J.Am.Chem.Soc. 71, 952 (1949)].
Le brevet américain
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
EXEMPLE 1. - Quatre chiens naturellement infestés par Toxocara canis et Toxascaris leonina sont soumis à une infestation expérimentale par Taenia hydatigena et Ancylostoma Caninum. hail and abomasum from ruminants, such as Haemonchus spp.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a process for the treatment of helminthiasis in homeothermic animals, according to which these animals are administered a compound of formula (I).
The compound of formula (I) has been found to be particularly useful when combined with other anthelmintics in a broad spectrum anthelmintic composition. For example, the compound of formula (1) can be used in combination with 0,0-di- (2-chloroethyl) -0- (3-chloro-4-methylcoumarin-7-yl) phosphate (Haloxon) and with the salts of N, N-di-n-butyl-4-hexyloxy- [alpha] - naphtamidine (Bunamidine) (preferably with a particle size of less than 10 microns) for the control of Dipylidium caninum, Taenia hydatig <3na , Taenia pisiformis, Ancylistoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Toxascaris leonina and Toxocara canis in dogs.
Accordingly, it is also an object of the present invention to provide a method for treating helminthiasis in horiotheric animals, according to which these animals are administered a compound of formula (I) in combination with one or more other therapeutically compatible anthelmintics.
According to other of its aspects, the objects of the invention are:
1) a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of formula (I) in combination with a vehicle and / or one or more other anthelmintics and
2) a process for producing such a composition.
Other examples of anthelmintics which can be used in combination with the compound of formula (I) are:

orally and which advantageously contain more than 10% of the active ingredient (s), based on the total weight of the composition. Examples of suitable compositions are dispersible or wettable powders, pastes, suspensions, tablets, granules and capsules. Some of these compositions are suitable for direct administration to an animal, such as.
there are tablets, pastes and capsules, but others, such as dispersible or wettable powders and granules, are preferably diluted with water to form a drink to be administered to the host or to be spread or mixed with his food. A large number of vehicles are suitable for the compositions according to the invention, their choice depending on the nature of the composition, on the desired concentration of compound of formula (I) and on the use envisaged for the composition.
All of these vehicles, however, must be non-toxic to the host in the amounts used and simply serve to transport the active component to the site of the infestation and to allow the best exploitation - the nematocidal properties. Other anthelmintics effective against nematodes, cestodes or trematodes, than those indicated above, can obviously be incorporated into a composition of the invention to enhance the properties of the compound of formula (I) or to extend the spectrum of composition activity.
When the compound of formula (I) is to be used in combination with one or more other anthelmintics in a composition to be administered orally, the latter can advantageously be presented in a sachet containing a granular mixture of the active constituents. the state. powder, optionally in 'association' with an inert, non-toxic vehicle ,. For example,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
the proffered composition which contains the compound of formula CI), 0,0-di- (2-chloroetyl) -0- (3-chloro-4-methyl-neck = arin-7-yl) phosphate and salts of N, N-di-n-butyl-4-hexyloxy- [alpha] - naphthanidin can be presented in such a manner or as granules, dispersible powder, tablet or paste.
A dispersible powder of the compound of formula (I) preferably contains a finely divided inert solid diluent acting as an absorbent or as a thickener). as well as suitable wetting, dispersing or suspending agents. The pastes are based on a solid diluent and the other vehicles above, additionally contain an aqueous or non-aqueous diluent for suspending the solid diluent and the active constituent, as well as an aqueous or non-aqueous diluent. a humectant and gelling agent, for the formation of a semi-solid mass. Since the compound of Form (I) is highly insoluble in water, this is a suitable dilution for a pasty composition.
An emulsion concentrate preferably contains one. liquid diluent for suspending the active component, as well as emulsifiers which may be anionic, cationic or nonionic surfactants. Suitable solid diluents are kieselghur and other diatomaceous earth, finely divided silica or mica, silichydrate, talc, clays, fuller's earth and ground gypsum.
Tablets can be obtained by granulating the compound of formula (I) optionally with a binder (for example magnesium stearate) and a solid diluent such as starch or lactose. The granules thus obtained can be introduced, for example into hard or soft gelatin capsules or
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
squeeze into tablets in a suitable machine. These granules can obviously be administered directly to an animal, mixed with water as a beverage and they preferably also contain an agent for promoting the dispersion of the granules (or tablets).
The compositions according to the invention can also be provided in the form of dietetic supplements in which the compounds of formula (I) are incorporated alone or in combination with other anthelmintics in relatively large amounts. These supplements can advantageously be added to the food either directly or after mixing or dilution; the sachets discussed above are particularly useful for this purpose. Suitable vehicles for the preparation of these dietary supplements are corn cob flour, soybean flour, by-products of wheat milling, soluble fractions of nelasse, corn flour, dry spent grains. of aistillery and other solid edible vehicles.
The compound of formula (1) can be dispersed in the vehicle by any suitable technique of grinding, churning, etc. Foods containing the compound of formula (I) and suitable for administration to homeothermic animals also fall within the scope of the present invention.
The compound of formula (I) can be prepared by any conventional technique. For example, we can make
1,1,2,3,3,4,5,5-octachloropentene with aluminum chloride (see HJ Prins, Rec.trav.chim. 65, 455 (1946)) or hexachlorocyclopentadiene with chloride of aluminum in carbon tetrachloride or methylene chloride at the boil American Ltrevet No. 2,616,928 and JS Newcomer &. No. 2,996,553 also describes the preparation of this compound by reaction, in. presence of aluminum chloride, hexachloropentadiene with an unattracted cyclic dieneophilic compound whose ring has 5 carbon atoms. This patent also describes the preparation of the compound of formula (I) from anhydrous C10Cl10O, obtained by heating C5Cl6 and SO3 and phosphorus pentachloride. Finally, the compound of formula (I) can be obtained by isomerization of perchloro-3a, 4,7,7a -tetrahydro-4,7-methanoindene by means of aluminum chloride / see ET McBee et al., J. Am .Chem.Soc. 71.1511 (1956)].
The following examples in which all amounts are by weight illustrate the invention. Examples 1 to 3 show the use of the compound of formula CI) for controlling infestations by nematodes and Examples 4 to 15 illustrate pharmaceutical compositions.
EXAMPLE 1. Four dogs naturally infested with Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina are subjected to an experimental infestation with Taenia hydatigena and Ancylostoma Caninum. When the organisms causing the experimental infestation have reached maturity, these dogs are administered, in their food, a mixture containing a compound of formula (1) taken at 12.5 mg / kg, haloxon taken at a rate 50 mg / kg and bunamidine hydroxynaphthoate taken at 25 mg / kg. A similar mixture was administered to four dogs subjected to experimental infestation with Taenia pisiformis.
